I’ve gotten Pita Blu twice now for lunch… and I don’t think I’ll be returning with Mr. Gyro’s opening up nearby on 119th. Service is easy since it’s a drive thru and has the food has always come out relatively quick. My gyro both times have been quite greasy and I’ve also had some chewy/fatty pieces. The fries are pretty damn good though…

The reviews were good, so I gave it a go. I wasn’t impressed. I had the beef/lamb gyro. Meat was very chewy, portions small. Others recommended the chicken. I would have to be better. Pat

Today I stopped by Pita Blue for lunch, and boy am I glad I did. I’ll have to come back a few more times to make sure, but I think I found the best gyros in town! The service was very quick and friendly. The food was phenomenal — I got the lamb and beef gyro with fries. Everything was perfectly seasoned, and the gyro had more flavor than any other I’ve had. All in all, 5⁄5. Highly recommend!

So the Pita Blu spree has continued. I have now tried the chocolate loukamades which are SO good! Ahh could eat every day. As a side, I prefer their chicken to how I’ve eaten at Mr Gyros and other gyro meat purveyors. The chicken is actually chicken breast that is recognizably chicken, rather than the weird processed meat at other Greek places I’ve been around town. Try it!

First time here and service was exceptional! I ordered Greek salad which was amazing. Extremely friendly lady asked if this was my first visit as I had hard time deciding. She gave me a menu to take home and look over and also suggested her recommendations. Was very pleased with the service and food. Would give 5 stars if I hadn’t have found the menu extremely difficult to comprehend. Being new to the place this is not a menu for new customers who do not understand the products sold.

We ordered a gyro with beef/lamb, blu fries and a Greek salad. Everything was good, I did want to try everything on the menu, so that is a plus. Next time I might get the beef/lamb gyro and add shrimp. I found the location good and the employees friendly. The pita is really delicious.

This place is amazing! The pork yeeros are spectacular with the spicy tzatziki sauce. I’ve never been disappointed. I also just discovered their loukoumades(chocolate donuts), they are great! I also highly recommend the blu fries and Greek lemonade. The owner usually pops out to say«thank you» as well which is a nice touch.

Way too expensive. Almost $ 13 for a chewy Gyro, side salad and drink is ridiculous. The other Greek place in Johnson county has a daily deal for the same items for less than $ 8. The beef and lamb was very chewy.

Really wanted to love this shining beacon of differentness in Kansas. It is surrounded by burger and sub shops and we went here specifically to try something not that. The concept is great. The one problem is the meat. the beef/lamb was tough and chewy. The Yeeros were solid otherwise and my family all enjoyed them. Improve the meat and it will be a winner. Good price for the family 4 pack plus it comes with a yummy salad. Perhaps this is a one off and I will give them the benefit of the doubt and move from 2 stars to 3 stars.

Eaten here a half dozen times and loved every one. I usually get the Chicken Yeero combo on a gluten free pita, because how awesome is that?! And I could eat the slaw until I burst… so good. The owner and staff are always friendly, food is fresh and delicious, and I’m excited to have great Greek food just around the corner!

Best Greek food I’ve had around. I got the Beef & Lamb gyro w/greek salad. All of it was fresh and awesome! The guy in the drive thru gave me a sample of the pork and it too was amazing. I was actually planning on heading to Unforked(which is also great) but decided to give this place a shot and I’m glad I did! I’ll be back for the pork gyro. Then I’ll come back for it again because I like this stuff. Thanks for a good lunch!

Kansas City has needed a drive thru restaurant of this caliber for awhile. Fresh ingredients really make the difference. The tirokafteri dip is so tasty with the roasted red peppers and hummus. The Pita Blu Yeero box is a great value for a family of four at $ 26. With the four yeeros and fries you can’t beat it at a burger joint. Healthy gluten free, filler free meats, fresh veggies are a breath of fresh air. Welcome Yanni to the KC cuisine scene.

I’ve had the pork yeero both times I’ve been. It’s really flavorful and the kind of thing you’ll crave. I’ve tried two types of fries. The pita blu fries(feta and lemon) and the normal fries(they have a really good seasoning). My favorite are the normal fries. I can picture those tasting even better with some lemon squeezed on top. The drive-thru is cool. I’ve never been to one like that. The guy at the window is rad. Really nice. Always gives me a menu so that I can think about pita blu during the day.

Now that I’ve been back a few times, I’m anxiously awaiting their new menu, which I believe comes out today. The only 2 qualms I have now are the sandwiches are on the small side, and the Yeero spelling, which is too cute for my tastes. Otherwise, get yourself down here, it’s delicious nutritous and affordable food, and has the Pork Gyros just like in Greece. Believe me, Pork Gyros are the only kind to get.

I really wanted to like this, but I just can’t even pretend. I got the«Authentic» Beef & Lamb Gyro, excuse me, YEERO(they must think people just need that much help pronouncing the word) with fries and water, a piece of spanikopita, and a piece of baklava. This was $ 16.00 with tax. Let me clarify for my Greek friend Demitri… I fully understand the pronunciation of the word Gyro. It is not spelled Yeero. That spelling assumes that Americans are stupid and lack ability to pronounce foreign words. The gyro meat was not authentic at all in flavor or texture. It was tough, grisly, and no flavor. No, I do not expect ground meat. This did not taste like marinated meat stacked on a vertical rotisserie(or spit) from an authentic GYRODIKO. The pita was really good. I might drive through here just to pick up pita, but the tzatziki sauce was very thin and bland. Yes, I do know, my friend Demitri, that tzatziki is made with yogurt. That is how I make it at home, with onion, cucumber, and spices. The side of fries was weird. I mean, they were tasty, but an odd choice for an authentic place. Again, they were tasty — I did not say I didn’t like the seasoning. I just desire a different side dish choice. How about Horta vrasta? Dolmades? The spanikopita was okay. It was light and crispy, not too much filling, and not greasy, but didn’t taste home made. Another recipe I make at home. The baklava was probably mass produced. Not awful, but not home made. Demitri, you are much more schooled in all things Greek, having lived in Greece for 21 years, than I. I am not ignorant of the culture or the food. My maiden name is Apostle. My grandparents came here from Greece. I know Greek food, and this is not it. It is a watered down version of Greek«fast food». Please tell your friend, the owner, that he doesn’t have to dumb it down for us. We can pronounce Gyro correctly. And if he wants to promote an AUTHENTIC gyro experience, how about stacking marinated pork on a vertical spit? Bottom line, I was excited to find out about this place, but I won’t be back. I was disappointed and it was expensive.

Believe me when I tell you that their pitas will not make you blu. They’re really excellent! But if you’re looking for a dine-in restaurant experience, you may be blu because this is definitely not a full service place. Pita Blu serves up some great gyros options(the shrimp gyro was amazing!) and also Greek salads, desserts and a few sides. They have two tatziki options, regular and spicy. I had the fries with my gyro and had to give more than half of them to the hubby as the serving is really big. The fries are nicely seasoned with oregano. Please don’t smother these fries in ketchup as you won’t be able to fully enjoy the really nice flavor the oregano imparts. These fries are actually pretty darn special. I tried the baklava for dessert and it was perfect. Often at Greek restaurants, the baklava is so old that the phyllo dough is rubbery, but this was sweet perfection. We also ordered a half gallon of the Greek lemonade. It’s a bit on the pricey side compared to the rest of their menu, but it’s sooooo good! It’s less sweet than most lemonade and has a lovely star anise flavor. Service was pretty quick and very friendly. They really have drive-through only service unless you want to sit outside at the table in front. If you have a really large SUV, you might have trouble negotiating their oddly laid out drive-through. Fortunately, us tree huggers had no problem.

We had Pita Blu kind of spur of the moment a couple of weeks ago and while it was good… I kind of doubt we will go back. The ‘yeerohs’(that’s how they spell it on the menu) were actually really good, my chicken was delicious, and my husband’s lamb and beef was really good too. I think they make their own bread… and the meat is not the usual pressed pita meat it’s great sliced, grilled chicken, steak and lamb. I mean, I’m a fan of both but sometimes the pressed pita meat sort of grosses me out(even if it is delicious). So, I guess the big issues I have with this place is that it’s on the South side of 119th and the West side of Metcalf which is THEWORST intersection in the city… with the exception of that Westport Rd SW Trafficway triangle which I’m surprised isn’t deadly every day… let’s say this is the worst sub-urban intersection. AND, it’s only drive thru. My husband sent pictures of the line, the lady in front of him who refused to pull up… that sort of thing. So, i guess we will continue going to Mr Gyro until a Pita Blu opens in a better location… OR if I’m miraculously driving by and I want the yummiest pita bread in town… then I will stop by. Oh AND the idea of french fries with salt, pepper, lemon juice and feta on them… is BRILLIANT. I will copy that at home.

Had Pita Blu today. This is the smallest«yeero» I’ve ever had. I probably have higher expectations being from Chicago(there’s a Greek town there), but I’ve had gyros all over and this one is definitely the smallest, by far. I am also not a fan of the«yeero» spelling. I’ve never seen that spelling before and I guess it’s supposed to be a fun play on the pronunciation of Gyro, but it made me assume the food would not be authentic. While looking at the menu, I googled«yeero» because I thought it may be something different than a gyro. Despite the size, the«yeero» had great flavor. I had the«authentic» lamb and beef. As far as I know, authentic is just lamb, no beef, but I digress. There were a couple of tough fatty pieces that I couldn’t eat, but I still enjoyed it. It was $ 7.25 for just the yeero without the meal and I think that’s pricey for the amount of food and the fact that this is a fast-food, drive-thru only place. $ 7.25 is a good price for a gyro and a Greek salad or fries. The«Greek lemonade» with lemonade, fresh mint, and«a SPLASH of anise» was absolutely disgusting! How many people are a fan of black licorice? Not many, I’m sure. I took 1 sip and threw it away. The anise was so overpowering and it just wasn’t a good taste at all. This was 2.15 for a small size. Definitely overpriced. Please add an option without that yucky anise flavor. Lastly, the drive-thru is way too narrow. This is a narrow building and the first window is on 1 side and the second window is on the opposite side. Trying to turn that sharply in an SUV is difficult. It’s like doing a narrow U-turn. I had to pull forward, back up, and then pull forward again to make the turn. Luckily, no one was right behind me or I would have been stuck. Location isn’t the best and the only reason I noticed it is because I was at the stoplight next to it. Overall, I enjoyed the«yeero» and the service was friendly. I’m going to check out some of the other Greek places in the area and may or may not be back to Pita Blu.

This place was Backyard Burgers, then Italian Gardens, and may have been something else at one point. Now we have Pita Blu, and YAY for this place! I made my first trip here today after a recommendation from a couple coworkers. I couldn’t be more pleased. Be prepared that it’s drive-thru only. While waiting on my order I watched them cooking my food over an actual fire. I tried the beef and lamb yeero combo… came with slaw that had feta added. No exaggeration here: this may be the best gyro/yeero meat I’ve EVER had. It was a little greasy so I chose not to attempt eating it while in my car. Perfectly cooked meat and yummy sauce along with tomatoes and onions wrapped in pita. DELICIOUS! The feta in the slaw was different, but not in a bad way. I enjoyed it as well. The Greek lemonade had too much anise in it for my liking. Black licorice is completely offensive to my tastebuds. Not their fault. The mint was a nice touch. Definitely going back!

Easy in and out location for lunch on the go. Very friendly service. Ordered the beef/lamb gyro, blu slaw and greek lemonade for about $ 12. The blu slaw was light and refreshing. It was topped with quite a bit of feta. The gyro had great flavors; however, it was very, very greasy. If you don’t like onions ask for it without because it’s loaded with them.(Good thing I like onions.) Also, I prefer more tzatziki sauce so would likely order more on the side next time. The lemonade would have been good but I’m just not a fan of that anise flavor. It would be nice if there was an option to order it without it.
