Went down on a Saturday morning. It was my first visit and I was carrying a coupon with me (best way to try out a new place as you don’t lose a lot if you end up not liking it ;-)).
Everything was real quick at the reception (while the receptionist was looking serious for some reason) and waiting time for my turn was around 6 – 7 minutes, even though I didn’t have an appointment.
Place was clean, ambiance was amazing and I saw that the staff was eve helping a small girl with her crayons, while her dad was having a hair cut. When it was my turn, they understood exactly what I was looking for and delivered the same. Place is little pricey but there were no hassles with understanding, nor the end result.

Spanky’s WAS my go to place to get a haircut. I once enjoyed a friendly receptionist, a free cold drink and a fun & energetic stylist and always left happy and satisfied with a great haircut. NOW, (for the last three or four times I’ve been there) I have been confronted by a grumpy receptionist who obviously is not happy to be there and makes me feel like I’m a big inconvenience. She doesn’t smile, she doesn’t welcome me and does not offer me a drink. The stylists always seem to be very good and I am satisfied with my haircut, but as I leave all I can think about is well there goes 26 bucks. It’s the little things that will make customers willing to pay a little extra for the quality of service and it seems Spanky’s has ignored those for a while. Sport clips provides the same level of service at a significantly lower price and that’s where I’ll be taking my business.

I thought the staff was kind of rude, they don’t talk to you and they weren’t sure if they could take a card payment. The haircut was decent but I wouldn’t go back.

I had terrible experience at this place. I was called in, the lady stylist didn’t even introduce herself. She didn’t ask me if I like the haircut. She was like once you are done setting your hair I will catch you in the front. She was not at all friendly. I would never go back to this store. I would not recommend this store at all. I used to go to sport clips which is 100% better than this salon.

I went to Spanky’s for the first time yesterday. The cost of a cut there is $ 21.95. The service was quick and the receptionist was very friendly. They offered me a free water or soft drink. I do not believe they can offer free beer anymore.
My stylist was good but not overly friendly. I could see that others in the salon were a bit more talkative with their customers and smiled a lot more.
I would say that this place is OK for most men looking for a basic hair cut. She had been there 2 years, which is a good sign that she enjoys working there and that she is doing a good job. The only complaint I would have is that after my haircut she did not show me with a mirror the back or sides of the head to ensure I liked how it was. I also could. to see my sideburns and noticed that they were slightly different from each other.

It took our stylist all of about 5 minutes to cut my 2 year old son’s hair! Great job, considering he is squirmy and hates getting his hair cut. It is way too short so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, but it’ll grow back fast. We will go back for sure! I got a discount as well for having a Val Pak coupon! $ 5 for first timers! Still not bad at the regular price either.

My first visit. A place like Spankys sells the total experience and while there. well you get a hair cut. First off the haircut was great! Dana my stylist knew how to cut hair and did a great job. 5 stars for her.
I arrived on Sunday at 11:50. They don’t open till 12. A few others arrived and instead of letting us in and taking advantage of their massage chairs for 10 minutes, they let a group form outside. Come on man!
Secondly, it was Sunday, a day of football. I’m not a big football fan but if I’m a captive audience then I would much rather hear the game on the TV in front of me than listen to SPICE girls that was playing on the radio.
They did offer a soda upon arrival and that was nice.
All in all– I got a great deal on a haircut, but for me did not fulfill on the total experience that I expected. 2 stars for the experience.
I’d go back if they continue to offer specials. $ 5 for a haircut that normally runs $ 21 there… I can’t complain too much :-)

Spanky’s is a great place for guys to get a haircut. Where else can you have a free beer while you wait!!! Nice place with many big tv’s showing Sportscenter. The stylists are all great and you can watch sports while getting your haircut.
I get clipper cuts so it is $ 14.95 for a cut, but you can always find coupons in the ValuPak in the mail. You can also send them a text on your way to get your name on the list. Great price, beer, big tv’s, nice stylists, and you don’t have to wait.
That is a winner across the board in my book!

Just got my hair cut here. Great atmosphere, clean salon, and mostly great staff. The woman working the register seemed like she’d had a rough day and was difficult to warm up to. As a result, I just sat back and drank my beer while listening to salon gossip.
The haircut was an entirely different experience. I’m horrible with names, but the stylist said she was from the bronx. She was awesome. She was a stylist who liked to listen as much as she liked to talk. She asked me what I wanted as far as a cut goes, and hit what I wanted on the mark. Very personable; she made me laugh and kept me comfortable. I’d go and see her again for sure.
As far as price is concerned, I got a beer, a cut, and a shampoo… regular price is ~$ 22. Most salons I am used to charge 25 for the cut and extra for the shampoo. You buy the beer next-​door.
I’m pleased, and… I look good!

For a 1st experience it was just OK. The cut was good. My lower rating is with the overall experience. There was a number of items listed as the basic package for a cut which included a shampoo, hot towel and a couple other items. The person cutting my hair was sick and shouldn’t have been working because she coughed and sniffed the enitire time and just wanted to get me out of the seat a quick as possible. My simple hair cut takes about 5 – 7 minutes, and when she finished just said, «That it.» I thought $ 22 and not getting any of the extras not a good experience at all.
