Hong has a new product, the acrylic is tinted, no need for polish, looks fabulous and dried in a minute. Amazing, I was in doubt, but could not be happier.

This place is absolutely amazing! I always get the acrylic fill when I go and Hong has me in and out within 20 minutes. She is fast but very accurate and my nails always come out looking flawless. They have a vast gel color selection too. Go see them!

Hong is fabulous! You can’t go wrong with her! Her pedis are sheer bliss. My nails are perfect. Plus she has great color sense. I will not go anyplace else.

We have been to this salon before and received good services. However this most recent visit my daughter had a manicure and pedicure done by someone we had not seen before. The manicure was the worst we had ever received anywhere. Polish applied was thick and had drips. Perhaps old polish? The woman raced out as she finished so clearly was in a rush. We will not be back.

Visiting from out of town. My friend really needed a pedi. I didn’t really need one but really wanted the message. My nails were worse than when I came in. Paint all over my toes. Message was good but quick. Not worth the money.

Star Nails has become my go-​to salon for mani/​pedis! The staff is always extremely thorough and takes their time making sure that you have a relaxed experience with a quality result. Many times the owners are in the salon working as well. They just started a new frequent customer reward card that I’m excited to be a part of.
Although it is not a premier spa and may not be the most fancy place, my nails always look great for a moderate price. The staff members are always friendly and really make an effort to get to know you, and when you get a pedicure they give some of the best leg massages around!

Really wonderful service – staff pay attention to what you want, and will continue to make small talk and joke with you. I purchased a groupon for a shellac manicure in February and use it a few weeks after purchasing. The staff were very patient with me, as I had changed my mind on nail color several times. I asked for a glitter ombré on each nail; however, after several tries, it became clear that my nail technician did not know this technique. I ended up asking the owner for a sponge and said «Let me show you, I’ll teach you». The other staff members crowded around to see how this was done and to learn a new technique. They didn’t charge me for the 10 nail designs, since I did them myself. They also asked to take a photograph for their Facebook page, and I agreed.

After trying many nail salons in the KC area, star has my vote. I just received the best shellac manicure! Nice people, reasonably priced, and efficient.

After my 4^th trip to Star Nails I’m going to give it another star. The owner Brian did my pedicure and even though he’s a little guy he’s amazing at massaging and pays close attention to detail when scrubbing our feet or giving you a hot stone massage. It was amazing!
Also, I had my favorite lady do my nails a little more fancy that usual and she redid a couple because she wasn’t happy with the way they were looking.
People kept coming in and having to be turned away because they were so booked. It’s not the cleanest place in the world but it’s fine if you go in as little as I do.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place. I have come here a couple times with Groupons and it has been an outstanding deal BUT I would say the services matched, with my nails coming out just okay.
Most recently though, I had a shellac manicure in a plum color and it turned YELLOW within the week. It was so weird and gross, I showed my friend who I had originally gone with and she said I definitely need to return. I did and the lady who did my nails laughed and said she would redo them — but them she asked me to show the manager. I showed the manager and the manager basically said it is not her polish, she is not to blame — it must be my lotion or something?!? Yeah, because my fragrance-​free Aveeno body lotion is causing my nails to turn YELLOW. Anyway, they redid it at no cost but it is still gross and weird and very accusatory of them.
Last thing, as a previous reviewer said, they act like you have an appointment and then make you wait or tell you they are closing which is really weird. If you are closing, don’t accept my appointment.

Poor service, rude people. They tell you to schedule an appointment online and then you show up and they tell you that they are closing! Really? Don’t offer appointment times after hours. Poor customer service! Please at least call me to reschedule. Will not try going here ever again.

I am visiting from out of town, I normally have an amazing salon that I go to in Lynnwood Washington.
This salon was okay, $ 10 more for a Shellac Manicure than I pay for back home. It’s $ 30. The lady who did my manicure did a great job taking her time painting my nails, I just got them done yesterday so I am hoping that they last at least the 3 weeks that they normally do, for me. I noticed that unlike my salon at home, there was no application of oil on my very dry cuticles and the lotion and massage application only lasted about 30 seconds.
I think overall, I’l come back but I’m definitely going to have to do more research and more other salons before, seeing as I’ll be moving here in August.

Reasonable prices, great service, and best of all, they actually take credit cards unlike 98% of OP nail salons!

I bought the Groupon for the Star Pedicure and Shellac Manicure. I only spent $ 29 on it for services worth $ 65 so it was a great deal. I do have to say I’m glad that’s all I paid for it. The lady who did my nails was nice enough and she did an ok job on my toenails. She was pretty messy with the shellac and I think I would have been more picky if I was paying full price. Overall, good experience but I don’t think I’ll be headed back unless they do another great Groupon. It was good that I could leave a tip on my debit card and I didn’t have to get cash.
