I had my wedding here and I give this place two stars because of the woman that was supposedly the«wedding coordinator» as well as this place is extremely over priced for a wedding. The only reason this place deserves two stars instead of one is because the wonderful pastor who married my husband and I. He was respectful and amazing to work with. The church was big and beautiful as well as the reception area downstairs. The lighting in the reception area was a bit neon looking and harsh for pictures but still a nice area. The woman who was the coordinator which came with the package lied about set up and clean up when first going to see the church. She said all of it would be taken care of. What she really meant was we will put tables out and throw away what you leave behind. She made it sound like decorating and tearing down and keeping what I want and throwing away what I don’t and then going to pick it up later is how it would go. But no… she said later only tables and chairs will be put out… she was rude and unprofessional. Half the time she never called me or texted me back. She was unorganized and if anything seemed hard she just didn’t want to do it. She was rude when talking to my mother and my autistic sister(maid of honor) just not a good woman to work with. She didn’t coordinate anything. I had to continuously call her about everything she never got with me. Awful experience with this lady and I highly suggest not choosing this for an event simply because of HER!!! It felt like everything was off limits. We asked if we could use there big coffee maker but she said no we had to use the tiny old as cap coffee pot… and I was having 150 people come to my wedding I was like seriously?! Just awful lady. Don’t do it!!! Other places are WAAAYYYY cheaper this place was extremely overpriced for what you actually get.

Beautiful facility. I don’t attend church here, I attend events when there’s guest speakers and such. Unity of Overland Park is located on Antioch and 103rd street. It has a large parking lot, and is a nice sized church. The bookstore is one of the first things you see when entering, after walking across the large entrance. The bookstore is beautiful, with not only religious books but metaphysical, and self help books, as well as crystals, and healing tools, pendulums, jewelry, gifts. The staff is helpful and know their products. In the church itself, are several large«Sunday School» rooms, that are used for meetings during non church times. The large reiki group meets here 2 Mondays a month. On the next day, there may be a Buddahist gathering, that’s how Unity Church is. The sanctuary is medium sized, bright even at night. The pews are light colored wood. Padded. The sound is sufficient for speakers, or even quiet activities like Shamanic drumming groups. The stage area has 4 steps, and a bright light. The speakers always complain about the bright light, but it makes them look good. I can see this used for weddings in the summer. The yellow tones would be a beautiful backdrop. There’s alot of metaphysical events that take place here. An entire calendar is on their website. I appreciate Unity as they are not a «holier than thou» church. I really like this location.
