Plaza Motel

OK, keep in mind this is in the small town of Overton.
The lady (manager?) who took our reservation doesn’t seem very friendly/​professional. When they answer the phone, they don’t say «Plaza Motel», just a «hello». so I wasn’t sure if i had called the right place.
and when we tried to check in, it appeared no one was at their «office». turns out she was in the bathroom or something, and a man (her husband?) was laying down on the couch, watching TV and smoking.
anyway, since it wasn’t busy season when we went, the lady gave us their «best» room. The room was big, came with a fridge & a kitchen. it was relatively clean.
I guess if i’m ever in town again, i would stay here (not that there’s much choice in Overton). but the price was good. forgot how much i paid, but i think it was in the neighborhood of $ 50.

I just tried to make reservations for 2 rooms. The person who answered the phone said, «I’m sorry, there is no manager here, can you call back tomorrow.»
Are you serious? A hotel that can only accept reservations when a manager is on duty? Do we really want to stay there?!
