Great place to take the kids(and adults)! The atmosphere is wonderful and the owner, Tracy, does a great job of teaching the children the«how to». Once the kids learn the basics of pottery making, they are off to make their own creations. I recommend this place to all of my friends.

Horrible customer service! I am a teacher and work full time and was very excited to use the groupon I had bought to make my first piece of pottery. Due to my busy school year hours, I wanted to wait until summertime to use the coupon. I was not told that they were only open for pottery making classes during this time for about 12 hours a week(this is not an exact number, but the best estimate I could give based on the summer hours posted on their website) from 9 – 12 am, 4 days a week. I am not sure how average working class people would be able to redeem a coupon during those hours only. Their customer service representative, Tracy, was extremely unhelpful and unwilling to in any way help me find a way to use the paid coupon I bought before it expired. Will never recommend to any person in the Thornton park/Winter park area.(Another negative point is that their customer service does not even bother to personally return phone calls, they only put forth the effort to send a text.)

We have attended several birthdays at Cup O Pottery AND held our child’s party there recently. Each time we have been treated so very kindly. The owner/artist genuinely cares about your child’s experience; cares about our experience. He is so patient with the children AND expects there to be some messiness involved… it’s clay and there are kids involved! The owner is also very flexible and accommodating. Just really a fantastic experience! The kids are actually creating art, not just painting imported pottery. The owner IS an artist and imparts his knowledge to your kids.

My husband and I went here recently due to a groupon for a 2 hour pottery class for 2 that I had purchased. It’s a bit out of the way for us(we live in Winter Park) and located on Alafaya Trail in E. Orlando but thought it would be something cool to try out. The instructor(Tracy) was amazing. So patient and comical. You have to be to teach people who have never made pottery on a pottery wheel! The class goes by pretty quickly. As a warning, call beforehand to make an appointment because they only have a certain amount of pottery wheels. Also don’t wear your Sundays best clothing or any rings/watches. You WILL get clay on your clothing. They provide aprons but bring your own in case they run out. They even accommodated my husband who is left handed and made the appropriate changes on the pottery wheel for him. We made several pieces of pottery. We then had to pick out our choice of glaze and the studio does the rest. Pickup of pieces take approximately 2 weeks or more. Overall, I recommend if you are looking for a cool outing for a date or with friends. No experience is necessary.

Purchased a 2 hour training session for two. We had a great time throwing some pottery for our first time. Tracy(owner) is attentive, helpful and has patience o’ plenty too! This studio was very clean, organized and well, we had a lot of fun. You should give this a try if you never have before. Tracy helped us both to maintain a degree of competence«on the wheel» to make some things we’ll be glad to take home. My deal was to make a bigger Butter Bell than what you can purchase online. Most only hold one stick(½ c.) butter — I needed more volume than that and we pulled it off — the wheel — ha ha! Fires the piece next week or so and we’ll return to pick up and maybe while there, I’ll make an urn for our aging cat? Naaah, JUSTKIDDING! Really if you are looking for a new low key, but fun experience, I believe a session at Cup O’ Pottery is a good idea. The other folk in the studio were friendly, helpful. Just a shame for s the shop is $ 12 in tolls from my casa! Actually, that shame is on Orange County. Lots of mud mushing fun to be had even if the«naked pottery» ain’t what you might be thinking. !

I cannot say enough good things about Cup o Pottery! The facility has everything you need to create with clay to your heart’s content, the prices are reasonable and the service is extraordinary. You don’t need to be an expert potter, or even have any experience at all! If you have any interest in experiencing pottery, this is the place to do it. The atmosphere is fun, friendly and relaxed, so it’s a great place to learn. I purchased studio time and clay, not a class, but the owner is always happy to help me when I need it and is encouraging and a fantastic teacher. Awesome place for creative birthday parties or moms’ nights out. Absolutely the best clay experience I’ve had and I give it my highest recommendation!
