The strawberry field was an easy location to drive towards. Dont park outside of the gates. They have certain times where they will be open. Just get there early. This is my first time in the strawberry fields. It was really exciting to pick them fresh. Try not to be tempted to eat the strawberries while picking em! They smell delicious. The field is wide and everyone can have their own row. Their strawberries are really sweet. $ 2.75 a pound! Even publix cant beat that price, theyre usually $ 2.99 when its on sale at peak season. With this, you can have a cute little adventure or simply family time. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed walking through the field looking at little children and their parents being so excited to find a luxious crimson ripe berry. I noticed they were also selling blueberry plants for $ 40. When it is peak season for blueberries, which is around june, they have blueberries for $ 3.75 a pound. I love this place and i cant wait to take my mom for the next trip!

Family friendly farm serving up delicious local berries. Perfect for a morning trip to pick your own fresh fruit! Get there early, get a carton(or two!) and fill them up! Then head over to check out where you are priced by the pound. There are also different flavors of local honeys for sale.

So my family and I visited Pappy this past Wednesday and I was very disappointed not at the berries but at Pappy, so as I am walking along with my 18 month old kid Pappy is watching me from his tractor and all of a sudden he comes running over and says«I saw you eat some berries, you need to pay for them first before you eat them» then my little 18 month old pulled one and he was upset about that as well, so I was unaware you could not do that, as a u-pick place you have to expect sampling and if that is pappy’s policy then you should have a sign just like you have a sign for people not to step on the plastic so people know what the rules are but you didn’t have a sign so it couldn’t be that important to you because the other 30 people there were doing the same thing picking and sampling, but what upsets me more is that out of everyone doing the same thing I was he picks the only brown none white person to accost in front of my wife and kids about eating a few berries I can only think that he did this because I am not white like all the other people or maybe because he saw my wife’s head scarf and he doesn’t like Muslims I don’t know but that is how he made me feel, he made me feel unwelcomed and like I was stealing from him to think I was going to spend $ 500 and buy some plants from him. So if your white you will be ok but if you are not then I suggest you don’t go too Pappy’s because he is a bitter old man stuck in the 50’s, but the lady running the both is very nice and helpful and i think she has realistic expectations unlike Pappy. All though they only have 4 rows of blueberry plants. I would suggest Beck Brothers blueberries U-Pick they have 40 rows of blueberries and are half the cost of Pappy.

I take my young one to pappy’s patch all the time. This is a great family run farm where you can walk the fields and pick your own strawberries or blueberries(depending on the time of year). The fun part is hunting for that big strawberry while you sneak a taste or two walking through the fields. you basket will fill up fast and before you know it you will have more berries than you need, but get them anyway! Berries are good for you. I will say that traffic can get a bit hectic on busy days but they do a decent job getting everyone in and out. Keep up to date with openings and times on their face book page.

This is a great place! It can get a bit crowded so get there early. Also follow them on Facebook and they’ll post their hours and when they close.

I’ve always wanted to pick my own strawberries and this was a fun experience. They usually open their field from 9 – 12 and that’s always a bad time for me but today they extended till 4. The berries that I picked were bright red and juicy. Did I mention it’s only $ 2.50 a pound? Can’t wait to pick some blueberries, which will be ready in a couple of weeks!

I absolutely loved this place. I took my 4 year old son yesterday and he had so much fun. It is very nicely priced as well at $ 2.50/pound. I bought right around 3 pounds and for about an hour of fun with my little one, it was so worth it. The lady at the truck was very friendly, not sure if she’s the owner, but she was very nice. She told us exactly what to do as we’ve never done it before and even told us where to go to find the best ones. This place is huge. No one seemed to be fighting over what row to go on. There were plenty of rows for everything. I follow them on FB and it does seem a little confusing about when they are open and when they are closed but I can’t fault them for that. They have to rely on when the berries will be ready and at their best so the people that complain about that make no sense to me. I’m eating the strawberries now and they are absolutely amazing. i’m in heaven and I will definitely be back way more often! Oh yeah, make sure you wear tennis shoes. I made the mistake of wearing sandals. It wasn’t too bad but I wish I would have wore real shoes!

I took my toddler and met some friends for the morning to pick strawberries and we had a great time. It is very modestly priced $ 2.50/pound, if I remember correctly. Apparently the berries are not completely organic(they use some mild pesticides), but they are non-GMO. The berries are so sweet and juicy. We ate our two pounds within a day. I can’t wait to go back and take my four year old!

Strawberry season is here! Yippeee! After a few months of the ‘brutal’ Florida weather(um yeah…), Pappy’s Patch has reopened its sweet gates to strawberry picking! On this cold day(OK, now i’m serious — it was chilly!), we ventured out to the patch. I’m not sure how big an acre or two but I’ll estimate that its about that size. There are rows and rows of strawberries plants for the gather to choose from. No one has to fight over which row because just mosey on down to the next one. The steps to start your picking is pretty simple — go to the truck, get a pint or a tray if you want a lot of strawberries from those nice ladies, and your hands are your tools. A few tips for your purse: bring cash(no money no fruit!), wear sneakers bc its sandy there, bring some shades to block the floridian sun & check out their FB page for when they are opened because you don’t want to waste a trip out there to find out that they are out of strawberries for the day. Also, don’t fret — non strawberry loves — later in the year they’ll have blueberries too. Don’t like blueberries either? Keep an eye out on their site and sometimes they sell other plants that may be to your liking. CLOSEONMONDAYS — ALWAYS…

Oh, Pappy’s… I miss you so much. You even inspired my Unilocal picture! When I lived in Orlando, I loved visiting Pappy’s. The folks are so friendly and the berries are absolutely delicious. So flavorful and juicy! They are the perfect base for jams and chocolate covered strawberries. We introduced several friends and family members to Pappy’s and they all agreed that Pappy’s has some of the best berries out there… and it’s rewarding to pick them yourself! I don’t have any, but I’m sure this would be the perfect outing for youngins. Just make sure you check the hours/season on Facebook or give them a ring so you don’t show up when they are closed.

we love coming out here, have been doing it for years. Fun time for the whole family and the berries are amazing. My tip to you is to check out their facebook page which will tell you if they’re open or not on a particular day. If not, you should call before heading out-they have a recording. They’re only open when there are ripe berries to be picked. I’m pretty sure they are cash and check only, no credit cards.

First time out to Pappy’s and had a great time with the family. The owners are as nice as they come and it was great spending money where you knew it was appreciated. The hours are slightly limited but being family run I can understand and although they were limited they were very convenient. The prices were great as long as you do not mind getting a little dirty and sweaty. Plus it is all you can eat for free while you are picking :) If you are picker — check them out. If you are not, give it a try!
