I had heard a lot of good things about this place from friends who still live in town. And let’s be honest, for Owego this is a pretty cool place to have. For $ 8 you can get a flight of four, 4oz brews, or do 2oz samplers for $ 1 a piece, as well as their standard pint size. The brewery isn’t allowed to serve food, and is limited to snacks at the bar. Also, don’t believe they are allowed to have bar seating as others have asked for in reviews. Only gripe with this place was that it is a bit messy inside, with boxes and other stuff stacked around the walls. Favorite beer ended up being a cider, Zuccamella. Least favorite was the Smokey MacDaddy.

This place is a little hard to find if you don’t know what you’re looking for, but it is definitely worth a trip. It is behind an ice cream store and the parking lot can be cramped if it is busy and I’m not sure if there is additional parking anywhere. The atmosphere was fun and the business looked very clean and welcoming. I loved the mini growlers, it is probably the biggest reason I got one it was so adorable. I assume friendly dogs are welcomed or it was the owners dog. There is a huge variety in the tap room and it’s not the generic kinds you find, what I really loved about this place is how different their brews were, but so refreshing! They love local farming and it’s what makes them so different from others and just awesome to support local farming and stores. The Genovese was my favorite, you could really taste the flavors! Such an awesome summer beer. My +1 tried a few others that I sadly can’t remember what they were but it was a great time and I loved the Genovese! Worth a trip if you’re in the area or a short pit stop on the way!

One of the most convincing signs of Owego’s comeback after the flood of 2011 is the appearance of new local businesses on the cutting edge of recent trends of food and beer. Farmhouse brewery represents on of the best examples in this arena. Founded only a year ago, they are brewing first-rate farmhouse style beers, especially saisons. Farm Breweries are licensed under a new law signed by Governor Cuomo in January of 2013. As the Governor’s web page puts it, «The Farm Brewery license allows craft brewers that use products grown in New York State to operate in a similar fashion to the states farm wineries, leading to increased demand for locally grown farm products as well as expanded economic development and tourism.» When I visited in September of 2015 they had more than a dozen beers of their own making as well as two guest ciders and a guest ale. Most were above average in quality and three were excellent. The style of brewing offers a welcome alternative to the super-hoppy ales of the Pacific Northwest. The taps are always changing and they encourage guests to taste as much as they want, so I will not bother listing my favorites because they will be replaced with something as good or better by the time you read this review. You can bring a growler and have it filled and they will sell you growlers if you forget your own. They also have some special beers in 22 oz bottles. The new law limits the food to things that can be eaten standing at the bar, but it does allow kids and pets. The best part of the story is that this place is just one of about ninety such breweries in and around western New York.

Definitely not a macro brewery(and that’s a very good thing). The beers I tried were quite tasty and although I don’t generally like IPAs because I find them too hoppy, the pale ale I tried was quite good. I enjoyed the light freshness of the Grinder saison and the cream ale flavored with strawberries and rhubarb. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing lots of info on the brews.

My fiancé and I decided to go to Owego on a whim and this place popped up as an attraction. We LOVE locally produced beer so we thought it was worth a shot. The beer is awesome, the staff was super friendly and walked us through our tasting very well. Homemade potato chips were a huge plus. Very reasonably priced for such nice quality. We ended up buying a half growler and hope to go back soon. Only issue we had were that there were no chairs at the bar, we would have loved to spent more time(and money) on beer but didn’t want to stand for another hour. Otherwise, nice country charm and excellent business angle — no farms, no beer — and we were so happy to see many beers 90%+ NYS ingredients for many of their products. They also carry some other NYS breweries on tap!

Love the farm to tap concept. Great variety and they do Belgian styles to perfection. They have great guest beers on tap as well. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. They could use a few chairs and warmer incandescent lighting. Some Edison bulbs and an acoustic band in the corner would make this place Heaven on earth.

Great tap room experience. The small tasting room was clean and nicely organised. We had a warm greeting as we entered and only waited a few minutes before we were served. We had a sample of all the beers on offer. They were fantastic. A good range of beers from a nice flowery IPA to a Belgian ale that was lighter than those I’m used to drinking. Genuinely there was not a beer I didn’t like. They offer a selection of guest beers from other local breweries as well… A nice touch. The brewery’s merchandise: shirts, bottle openers, etcetera, are of good quality and well priced. All in all a good experience. Definitely worth checking out!

i think i just went at a bad time, the place seemed nice but i didn’t have the best experience there, and the low rating is also more to do with my taste in beer. they seem good at the style of beer that they brew, but i just don’t really care for that style, it’s all belgian type beer and i’m just not into it. they make a few sodas too, the Sarsaparilla was probably the best thing i had here. the Ginger Snap soda was ok but i didn’t like the Orange Cream soda at all, just seemed like carbonated orange juice with cream mixed in. as for the service, my friend and i went at the end of the day and the one woman who worked there was noticeably buzzed. she was kinda loud and made it a point to mention their«no farmers, no beer» slogan, which seems like an odd point to make because it makes it seem like people generally have an anti-farmer mentality haha. she started my friend and i on our tastings and then kept running off. we kinda got ignored the whole time while the 3 workers went between talking to regulars and out of towners. i saw one of the owners go above and beyond and do something really nice for one customer, but again we were kinda ignored, we got our 6 samples served to us by 3 different workers because one would serve us and then pay attention to the other people there. at least i got to fill up on free crackers between drinks.

Owego microbrewery run by one of the very few barley malters in NYS. The beers were outstanding, with several saisons, farmhouse ales, belgians, etc. Nice to find a brewery who’s focus is about balance between malt and hops. The friendly owners are the folks you will encounter working the tasting room. A full flight of 6 – 7 beers was only $ 3, and for another $ 3 you can also try another flight of other local microbreweries. Nice touch to promote not only their own beers, but other local micros.
