They let what look to be underage girls be in charge of taking phone orders, waiting on customers, and monitoring/cleaning the buffet. Legalities aside, customer service is awful — food sat too long under the heat lamps at the buffet, no waitress to check on what I needed, and there’s no way kids that young can be trained and keeping an eye on hygiene and health department standards. Ordering delivery or carry out is difficult — they let the kids answer the phone, and they tell you incorrect things like the lunch specials are no longer being offered, etc. And, even though the carry out menus and signs specifically state they take credit cards, and specify a minimum order on the menus, the staff will still insist on asking you if you have cash instead — even paying in person. It’s gotten to the point it’s too difficult to deal with them and one wonders what’s going on in the back if it’s this questionable in the front. I’m dealing with Panda Wok exclusively from now on, since apparently Beijing may have closed.

The last time I was there to pick up takeout, there were fruit flies buzzing around all over. The food was OK but I felt uncomfortable about the cleanliness.

We’ve had take out from Kam Fung a number of times and fin the food to be pretty decent as far as strip mall Chinese restaurants go. The menu is varied — besides the staples of chow mien, sweet & sour chicken and veggie fried rice, you will also find curry choices, Singaporean dishes and a good number of tofu choices. The food is not as greasy as the average places of this stripe and the vegetables were not wilted from being overcooked, both of which we always welcome. I would recommend Kam Fung as certainly being worth try.

Better of the two chinese restaurants I know of in Owego. Take out or sit-down. Wide variety of menu options, as you would expect from a chinese restaurant.
