Metro’s Restaurant

This was the worst place we have ever come across! I am not a person to write negative comments and try to find the best in everything but this was a bad pick! We waited over an hour and a half for food that was heated and dumped from a can and the place wasn’t busy at all!!! We finally told the waitress we were leaving in 10 more
Minutes without our food if it wasn’t ready and she could have cared less. We let them know how inappropriate the wait time was and they made no apologies or tried to remedy the situation. Will NEVER stop there again. I would give it a zero star if I could!

I went here tonite for dinner
I asked for coffee with Irish Cream.
They had no Irish Cream
I ordered the sirloin steak sandwich listed on the menu.
They no longer serve it.
The waitress offered dessert, Lemon meringue pie was listed
I ordered Lemon meringue pie.
They were out of it
I placed my debit card out to pay the bill
They don’t take cards
I am not making any of this up!!! It is the honest truth!

Unfortunately, the place has gone way down hill. The used to be famous pizza is all frozen ingredients similar to what you would find in the supermarket only drier.
When I called and requested a take out order the next question was «Well, what do you want?» Whoever was on the phone seemed annoyed that I was ordering dinner. I ended up not going to pick it up. My money can be spent at an establishment that wants business and takes the time to acknowledge customers.
I will not be going back.

We enjoy Metros more for the food than the atmosphere. Although I don’t care for the pizza, they’re dinners and desserts are always good. Pre order your dessert because a lot of times they sell out. Love their specials of chicken and biscuits and Mac & Cheese on Fridays.

Get the pizza as take out and you’ll be happy. Cheese with green peppers won’t disapoint. Eat in not so good. The non-​pizza menu and décor are very dated. No windows in the place.

ok, 3 stars may be generous… but, after having driven by this place too many times to count and hearing such great things about it, despite its seemingly abandoned parking lot, we stopped. It’s in an unassuming building on 96 headed toward Candor, next to the pink elephant!
Super clean, but dated atmosphere. I guess the pizza is the highlight. It’s good enough. Far better than something like Dominos, but not memorable.
Dinners include soup AND salad. Both of which were pretty good. I’m not a fan of their tomato sauce, which is seriously bland.
I did not get around to sampling any desserts, but by the time we left, there were several tables filled in and I saw the desserts making their way to the tables.

Food was decent, but they have a limited menu. They didn’t have one chicken dish that wasn’t chicken fingers. Most of the entrees are fried. Our meal took a while to come out. We were glad it came out nice and hot. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, which came with a ton of spaghetti and two meatballs. They had fried scallops, which I want to try next time. I’ll have to try the pizza too since it was rated highly. They were pretty skimpy on the dinner rolls. There were two of us, and they only put two in the basket at a time. Was surprisingly busy, seemed to be patronized by an older crowd. I believe they are closed Monday and Tuesday so make sure you go another day!
