Let me say right off that the sushi was 4 star but everything else was disappointing. Start with the wine list with«Zinfendal“misspelled but more importantly there wasn’t a decent wine out of the 6 cheap choices they had. We had beer instead. Then the waiter who didn’t eat sushi so had no clue about the rolls and was pretty clueless in general as he seemed oblivious to the fact that empty plates of sushi should be taken away even after the chef came by with him to ask how everything was and took the dirty plates. It was comical how bad our waiter was even though he was friendly enough. We had to ask for plates and when we got them they were the size of a saucer. He had trouble remembering the two deserts they have, ice cream or cheesecake. They served the ice cream in a glass which seemed a bit odd, saves on plates I guess. They don’t seem to have many. Still the sushi was good. The pizza roll, lucky roll, rainbow roll, and dragon rolls were all really good. A knowledgeable waiter and some decent $ 15 wines that they could triple the price on and it would be a 4 star place even with the tiny plates.

This is our favorite hibachi restaurant in town. The Mahi Mahi is my absolute favorite, always flaky and delicious. The Filet is also excellent and very tender despite being a lean cut. We’ve never been disappointed. We also love the mix of 90s favorites they play.

The grill is always super delicious, me & my fiancée LOVE the Chicken Hibachi, and the Steak/Mahi Mahi are amazing too. Have to say, if you want to sit in the Sushi section and the place is busy. the wait staff totally ignores you and pretends you’re not there, wont even take your drink order sometimes. So always go to the grill for great food!

Place is really good. Best sushi in town but I would avoid busy nights. Most of the servers seem incompetent and the aesthetic of the sushi declines as the chef tires. Owner is a… character.

I’ve now tried all the sushi places in Owensboro, and Fuji is the best. It’s also the only truly authentic place that does not serve«yum yum» sauce. I love the ika salad and that extra effort was put into making pretty vegetable rolls. My only complaint is that the fish pieces on my rainbow rolls were really tiny. Still I love this place and it is definitely my sushi-ya of choice.
