Fantastic beer selection, knowledge and atmosphere. Beers tapped perfectly. Food on the other hand… I’ve had better from a speedway service station. Freezer burnt rubbish.

Wonderful place! Great beer selection and fantastic cocktails! They have a great atmosphere with friendly helpful staff! My husband and I love their Tuesday night buy the beer keep the glass event! On Wednesday they do a dinner, which is always delicious. Definitely the best classy bar in town!

These people are nice, know their beer, and have a great selection. Check out the G-​spot (a closet of beer)! I went in with a group after 10:00 (when the kitchen closes) and the manager opened the kitchen so we could get some food with our beer!

Best local bar in town. They are always putting new craft beer on draft giving each person a chance to find their true preferences of beer. They give more than enough options for anyone’s taste buds. It doesn’t stop at the beer… they have an amazing selection of martinis and cocktails as well. If you are hungry for more than just an appetizer, they allow you to order takeout food from local restaurants downtown, (which most deliver to you in the bar) bring it in, and enjoy it with your brewskie. True support for locals. Love it.

This place is pretty cool or Owensboro Kentucky. They have a wonderful beer selection great beer on tap and good prices for craft beer. If they don’t have something they can probably get it in. This is not a place to go if you like big breweries like Bud Light and Miller lights as I do not serve that here. But do not order any food here the hamburgers and anything hot is microwaved frozen and terrible

I LOVE Gambrinus! I really can’t say enough good things about it. If you like craft beer, this is your place. They have an excellent selection of craft beers and they offer 4 oz. tastings for their beers on tap for $ 1 a piece. Great way to make a flight!
The atmosphere is laid back and classy, and it’s a great place to just hang out all night.

Gambrinus is the perfect locale for a few drinks to get your night started off right. The décor is incredible and the staff are always super friendly, not to mention the wide selection of beers and very tasty mixed drinks are matched by none — I consider this place to be my «Cheers».

Go here! Simple as that. They have tater-​tots, bourbon (BAKERS BURBON MIND YOU) and beer.
The bourbon aged bitters in a non-​too-​sweet manhattan while trivia fills the room and the warm glow of the summertime air fills the room is all you need if you are in this town.
Abraham Lincoln was here, even. It is true, we discussed The Beatles while he drank soda and I whiskey.
You are making a mistake by not being there right now if you can be there.

Gambrinus is a great bar with an awesome beer selection and a great atmosphere. While I was in there, they were playing silent movies– as a movie buff who loves beer, this really made my day. I’m definnitely going here again anytime I’m back in town– Gambrinus stands out as one of my favorite bars I’ve been to.

I came here for the first time back in 2011 during the Holidays. It was PACKED and LOUD! I came with two other friends and the only place to sit was at the bar, two of us sat while the other stood. I guess for Owensboro this is a hot spot. It definitely has some class and is very clean. I just remember from our visit being uncomfortable with no appropriate place for all of us to sit, chat, and drink our beers.

A must do whenever you visit western Kentucky. Not a dive bar, not a swanky bar, but just a classy bar that also happens to be affordable.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff (including cute ladies), open-​air feel, historic ambiance, great blend of blue– and white-​collar and young and Baby Boomers, good drinks, and parking in downtown Owensboro is seldom a challenge. I really hope this bar will really take off once the riverfront redevelopment project is complete.
This bar serve as a bright glimmer of hope and success for the future of downtown Owensboro.

HELL YES!!! FINALLY a 5 star find!!! Thank you GLE owner for opening up a classy drinking location! Everything about this place is amazing. The décor is awesome; old mixed with new. David Garibaldi art on the walls, Elvis movies playing on the big screen with couch and chair style seating and a beautiful wood bar.
The drink menu is extensive with dozens of brews, including my favorite Dogfish, and multiple specialty drink choices in the martini and bourbon field. The mixologist has obviously worked hard on the menu which I’m grateful for, however they were missing out on the gin options. And I’m still on the eternal hunt for a place that serves Moscow Mules and a Dark and Stormy.
If you’re looking for food this probably isn’t your place. They do have a small hors d’oeuvres menu for snacking but that’s about it.
When in Owensboro, stop by. You’ll be glad you did!
