Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Owensboro Downtown Waterfront

I cannot imagine what more you could ask for in a hotel in this class. I have paid double this price for half the hotel. It is a odd combination in this small town that makes it like a top quality destination worth coming to without another reason. River, balcony, park, great restaurants in walking distance.
This hotel is beautifully appointed. The people who work here are super friendly. I have stayed hear for 3 days a week for 6 weeks. In that time everyone has been great to me and my wife.
Breakfast is well done and included in the price. I have had the same breakfast at other hotels for $ 13.
The rooms are super clean and very well appointed. If you can get a studio suite with a water view then please do. You get a room with a balcony, giant desk, couch (sleeper sofa if needed). So many hotel rooms have no tub now days. This has a tub and very nice dressing area.
The room has what I would call a bar area. Important to me is a fridge and microwave.
To top this off you have a beautiful waterfront park and you a right up against the Ohio River. There are free concerts in the park every Friday night of the summer.
I look forward to seeing the trees across the river this fall.

Extremely clean. Perfect location. Walking distance to good food, craft beer, park for kids and ice cream. Room was spacious, staff very friendly, and breakfast was great. Round the clock coffee, fitness center, and pool were nice amenities. Highly recommend if you are in Owensboro!

stayed on a friday night. Really nice hotel for a Hampton inn. Better than several Hilton hotels that I have stayed in (especially the Hilton north in Indy that i stayed in recently). Great staff and breakfast. Close to restaurants and the VFW and American Legion. Free downtown shuttle. I would highly recommend.

I’ve stayed at this hotel for a total of 4 different stays and every time I love it even more. It’s clean, comfortable, beautiful views, great staff, great location, fantastic beds.
I’m a big fan of the fridge and microwaves in every room, and the couches having pull out beds. I’m sure I’ll be staying many more times in the future, and I look forward to it!

New and very nice! Lovely entrance and lobby. Easy parking. Nice FREE, hot breakfast. The room was good size, clean. The bathroom was very modern and nice with walk in shower. View was the river. I will definitely return here with the family. Only con– you can very easily hear people next door and in the hallway.

This is a new property that reportedly opened in January 2014, so at the time of this review it has only been in operation for about 6 months.
The place is very well designed and has one of the best lobby areas I’ve experienced. A terrific breakfast selection with several hot and cold selections. It’s all complimentary. Highly recommend.
The adjoining restaurant is a real surprise, too. A first class food menu with an extensive selection of bourbons and Kentucky craft beers. The only disappointment is that even though the restaurant is meant to serve the hotel guests, they don’t allow room charges — seems like a basic that all on– property establishments would normally offer their guests. Also, when I asked about in-​room dining, the bartender wasn’t sure how that would work.
Anyhow, small bumps in the road that really didn’t impact my stay. Perhaps the hotel and restaurant will get their collective acts together in the upcoming months. Like I said earlier, I highly recommend this hotel.
EDIT TO ADD: The bathroom has one of the best little details that I often wish other more expensive properties would provide: night lights. There’s nothing worst than having to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and having to stun yourself by switching on the lights to pee. A nice touch.

This is a brand new Hampton located adjacent to the convention center.
I don’t want to sound too much like the other reviewer but he hit it exactly… very clean, very open, and very modern touches give this hotel more of a Hilton feel. There is an onsite spa (which I have never seen at a Hampton). The usual Hampton amenities are provided (breakfast, nice rooms, etc.) but the newness is what sets this one apart from the others.
Can’t beat this location either. .walking distance to downtown, next to convention center and Smothers Park, restaurants, etc.
I’ve stayed in dozens of Hamptons across the US but this is by far the nicest I’ve been to. Will definitely be heading here on next trip to Owensboro.

New Hampton hotel! Very clean and the staff was great. LG HD TV’s and comfy beds! This hotel also has a spa, restaurant and few other items that I am missing. The hotel has a very modern feel with the luxury of a very upscale Hilton. I come to Owensboro a few times a year and have been waiting for this place to open. Great hotel!
