Been in Maryland for just over a year and a half now, and this place has the best Shwarma hands down, and the jalapeño sauce give it an awesome kick!

Cool little place in Owings Mills! I went at the recommendation of my brother and enjoyed my falafel meal. Lots of side/add-on choices to make a complete meal. The dining area is clean and clutter-free, and it’s clear that the restaurant works hard to keep their customers’ bellies happy and full.

I run in the wee hours of the morning, and sometimes I run by this place. Today was my first visit, definitely not my last. The food was very good and reminded me of the Lebanese food I’ve had in Louisiana(Serops! I love you forever!!!). I visited the website before I stopped in, and I ordered pickup falafel platter. I did not try any of the specialty falafel balls, just traditional. It really hit the spot. It was pretty dead when I entered, but a woman with a kid and two or three teenagers entered not long after I arrived. It’s very clean inside, two tvs. Definitely reminds me of Chipotle, but not so industrial-lofty. Oh back to the website: I was kind of surprised that Sam and Eli from the website were actually behind the counter for some reason. Not sure why I was surprised, but there it is. Let me just say that they were both nice and are also both pretty easy on the eyes. Okay, I think I need to go run some laps in the cold for a while! LOL

I ordered a Shawarma Combo(Lamb+Chicken) for $ 9.99 and a «Malabi» for Dessert. They were very helpful and patient at the time of ordering and walked me through the menu choices and helped making my selections. The shawarma was excellent as expected but the Malabi was a revelation! The shawarma came with tons of sides — which you chose when you order. All sides are labeled clearly so you can chose easily. The servers were very friendly and helped with any questions I had. Malabi came with pomegrenate water(and I think it has rose water in it) with a sprinkling of nuts — which just makes it delicious. The shawarma plate was big enough that I would get another meal out of it. But I might go back for another round of Malabi.

Cilantro is a family run place that serves the best Mediterranean food I have tasted on a very long time. The place maintains a humble and clean appearance. Food is well priced and is DELICIOUS. I would highly recommend Cilantro for Mediterranean Food :-D

debated back and forth with the bf for about an hour on what to get for dinner. We finally found Cilantro, which I’ve looked up before on Unilocal. So glad we went! As some of the comments say, and as the staff explained, it is set up like Chipotle, where you can pick and choose your toppings. We both got the Kefta Kabob bowl. He finished his, but I had enough leftovers to eat some of mine for breakfast. Glad we found this place and will be going back. I was going to only do 4 stars because the food was good but not the best I’ve ever tasted. But still really good for the fast convenience of it. However, the man was kind and warm to us when we came in(helpful bc it was a dark, cold, rainy day). He took care to explain everything to us and even laughed at one of my bad jokes. Good customer service always goes a long way and earns an extra star in my book.

This place is owned by Israeli people, but they don’t serve Kosher!(However, Kosher food can be very pricy!) it is a very clean restaurant, employees are polite, helpful and friendly! Their Shwarma and Kefta kabob was really delicious however the portion wasn’t big enough for me so i had to buy it twice in order to fill up my belly! I will come back again when I’m not too hungry!

Nice spot! I was near the area running some errands and luckily find this location on Unilocal. The food is very tasty and the ingredients seem really fresh. The place looks cleans and the prices are pretty reasonable. I had the combination of Chicken Shwarma and Falafel. The falafels are delicious, I tried them for the first time, specially the traditional one. The amazing thing about this little spot is that you can select whichever ingredients they have on the counter which is a big PLUS!

Really a nice spot for a quick meal, with varied options and a food profile you don’t really find around here. Menu is a little challenging to understand so that’s why I took off a star. Just make sure you ask questions about dietary needs and what’s included in your meal :)

I have wanted to come here for soooOOOoooOOOoooo long! I finally made it here for lunch yesterday with some co-workers and couldn’t have been happier! It seems like I seldom eat falafel anymore, and I’m not sure why. And Cilantro is authentic, unlike some other places that pop up that end up with food that tastes defrosted and inauthentic. I got regular falafel with whole wheat lafa and I got it basically deconstructed(all on a plate instead of wrapped in a sandwich). The hummus is great, the falafel is great, the fried eggplant is unbelievably good and the Mediterranean salad is wonderful. I also highly recommend the green jalapeño sauce which is something I’m not sure I’ve ever seen in Israel but adds a really nice kick.(I didn’t try the spicy falafel, but unless you REALLY love heat it might be a little bit much with both.) The onions missed the mark for me as they were really dry, and I also didn’t love the pickles for some reason. I also really wish they had french fries. Based on other Unilocalers photos it seems like they used to have fries and they must have taken it off the menu. Where can I find a place that will let me put fries in my falafel?! You should come here hungry — I was stuffed for the rest of the day. The food is yummy and fresh and if you don’t watch them take the falafel out of the deep fryer you could probably even make an argument that it’s healthy! It’s great for vegetarians(obviously) but they also have chicken and lamb shawarma. It’s so nice to see a place like this hopping with so much business with a weekday lunch crowd. It’s well deserved, and I will be back!

I’d like to give this place three stars, but the food was so unexpectedly good, I can’t. Shawarma and Mediterranean/middle eastern food is my favorite, and I have been chasing down joints all over the city since I ate the best of my life in Malaysia(yup, weird). I drove way out of my way to this place, and I’m glad I made the effort, despite the terrible traffic I encountered trying to get home. They’re not going to win any awards for atmosphere or even service, but they’re doing good, simple food and doing it right. The young guy at the counter was most polite and friendly, while the guy assembling the bowl was fairly surly and unfriendly, but the food was a win. I got the mixed shawarma bowl, which is lamb and chicken, and whatever you like off the Chipotle style bar of choices. For me, this included rice, eggplant, hummus and babaghanoush, garlic and tahini sauces, cucumber salad, onions with sumac and pickled cabbage. And that wasn’t even everything! They said they had good fries, so I ordered those too, but that was before I saw my finished bowl. .I didn’t come close to finishing it and I really, really wanted to! Please go give this place a try, it was pretty slow on a Tuesday night, and I want them to stay open! Can’t wait to try the falafel on my next trip.

As a middle easterner I love a good schwarma but have been hard pressed to find any local place with decent chummus and we’ll made food. Until I found cilantro, their food hits the spot and is made in true middle eastern fashion without compromising quality for quantity. Cilantro is a gem with fantastic schwarma and hummus that are highly recommended. Great service, great food, and a nice atmosphere as well.

I’ve been eyeing Cilantro for months and finally I stopped in to check things out. I’m not a Mediterranean food expert, but since my first visit two weeks ago, I’ve been here 3 more times! So, needless to say, the food is good! So far I’ve tried: lamb, hummus, regular falafel, rosemary falafel, baba ghanoush, slaw, fried eggplant, rice, and cous cous. I have yet to find something that I do not like at this place! Each time I visit, I get the takeout. Since I’m not well versed in the cuisine, the menu was a little overwhelming at first. But the staff was SO friendly, informative, and helpful when it came to navigating the menu and offering suggestions. The ingredients are always so fresh and seasoned to perfection. Definitely found a new favorite neighborhood spot! :) Welcome to Owings Mills! Yeah Yeah. I know, I’m late with my welcoming! lol

I like Cilantro. I can’t ever say that I’ve left falafel on my plate. Usually I inhale them and then get depressed that I have to finish the rest of the bowl. I think of Cilantro of the Chipotle of middle eastern food — you can customize your bowl and add things you do or don’t want. All the toppings were delicious — but the rice didn’t look great. Doesn’t seem like many people are going for the carbs! Also the desserts were to die for. Holy crap. I’m not sure what I ordered — I got the baklava and some sort of milk pudding with rose syrup. Just get it now. It’s in the mini fridge to the right of the counter. GETSOME Service is still figuring out what they’re doing. The staff are very friendly but not terribly efficient. I think it’ll improve. The only thing is the name — cilantro makes me think it’s a Mexican place and it trips me up for a second every time.

Don’t get confused by the name, this is NOT a Mexican restaurant, but rather a Mediterranean restaurant specializing in shwarma and falafel. There are several types of falafel including white bean and rosemary as well as a spicy offering too. All of which are good, but the shwarma is where its at. Usually I don’t get excited for chicken shwarma(lamb is my preference), but this is legit. The chicken gets a nice charred crust from the shwarma grill and is always still perfectly tender and juicy. I usually get the shwarma on a plate, which you can choose from various grains, fresh salads and sauce to accompany the meat — sort of similar to Chipotle. The food is very tasty, inexpensive, and a nice change of pace from all the other mundane options in Owings Mills/New Town. The owner is committed to making tasty food and when I spoke to him the other day he was already thinking of ways to improve the menu and food. I’ll be back.

Definitely get the falafel platter and since they are all good, go ahead and ask for samples of each! I was told by the extremely friendly staff the hummus is made fresh everyday– yeah, people say this all the time but you can taste the difference. The place is a bit far but it is closer to my alma mater so def. stop in and get your fix :) I hear this place is brand new, can’t wait to see what else is in store for cilantro!
