Not sure who would have given them something greater than 2 stars because Their food tasted the same, regardless of what you purchased. In addition, they are very slow. First time and won’t be returning.

They literally know my order when I call to place an order. They know my family and kids and ask how everyone is doing. The food is always great and they treat us like family as well. I don’t order Chinese take out from anywhere else!

Working in the area I’ve gotten the chance to taste a few of the options for quick lunch in the area, and this place rates at the top of my list for affordable lunch that I know I’ll enjoy. Firstly, I love the rice here. It’s everything I want and need in fried rice from a Chinese restaurant. Plenty of veggies, no onions, and dark brown. Not that nasty yellow rice that’s clearly not freshly made, but proper wok-fried rice that’s fresh with every order. Seriously folks, this is the type of rice you get when you go to proper Chinese spots, far undervalued as far as price is concerned. Don’t be fooled by the yellow rice mafia! Second, someone mentioned(complained) that the food is always a bit behind(they tell you 10 minutes so that they’ll be packing it up when you arrive) and I think that’s the best EVER! I love showing up and seeing my order being packed up. Makes me know that its super freshly prepared and not just ‘reheated’ like I see so many other spots do. Everything I’ve gotten from here so far has been very good, and always exactly what I ask for. I almost didn’t want to write this review because I wanted to keep this place to myself, but I decided that everyone needs to know that there is good takeout Chinese north of 695… A lot of places will give you WAY more rice than meal, this was the opposite, the perfect amount of rice for lunch. Now I just need to try some of the chef specials!

This is the WORST Chinese restaurant I have ever tasted food from!!! Avoid this like the plaque! All the food tastes and looks the same. Frozen vegetables and smothered in a brown sauce that is bland and terrible!!! The Spicy won tans were the worst(well maybe all of it was the worst) — all dough smothered in that terrible brown sauce again and each had a speck of nondescript meat the size of a peanut… The Lettuce Wraps wanted to make me cry… first of all — no lettuce — just the same frozen vegetables, strips of pale rubber chicken(in the shape of a worm), again smothered in that terrible, gelatinous brown sauce. When I complained that lettuce wraps should be ground chicken in spices, with fresh lettuce leaves to wrap the delight in, they said«that is not how we make it». What? no lettuce, no wraps? why the hell did they call it lettuce wraps? They should have called it «chicken goo»… I could go on, but it makes me too angry that I spent $ 68.00 on food that I wound up throwing out. Yes, it was THAT terrible. DONOTGOTOTHISPLACE!!! Dumpster Diving maybe better. Thinkmost of the positive reviews must have been written by friends and family — as a lot of them sounded quite the same with broken English!

We were craving Chinese food, and saw the good reviews here on Unilocal. Here is our food experience: The cheese steak egg roll was ok, but the inside wrapper was still raw.(yuck!) The batter on the chicken was too thick and doughy; there were pieces of just batter and no chicken. As an earlier reviewer stated, our sauce for the General chicken was also goopy. The fried rice had good flavor, but it was quite dry. And for some reason, we received a small container of fried rice to share between two entrees. Maybe they forgot the other order’s white rice? We were too hungry to bother to go back and get it.

My first time trying Hunan House. I usually don’t venture out when it come to chinese food. But I didn’t feel like driving the distance to get to my usual spot. So I checked out the reviews about Hunan House which were pretty good. I tried the shrimp fried rice and vegetable Lo mein. I knew I was going to like just by the way it looked. It was simply delicious!!! I am so happy I have a spot I enjoy that is close to home. I was very well pleased!

I have eaten here twice. I always order the same thing no matter where I go… Shrimp fried rice. Since moving to MD, it’s been hard to find a good place that makes good Shrimp fried rice. I don’t like peas and carrots in mine. I think it’s a must you have egg and bean sprouts. Why is it so hard to get it right? This place delivers. Though the shrimp is a tad over cooked, the over all quality of the dish is good and I have had them all in this area. This will keep me coming back. Oh, as a bonus, I noticed a garden out in the back parking lot. I saw one of the cooks going out one night as I was getting in my car to water his plants. I thought that was pretty cool and something you don’t see a lot. Call ahead your order– it does take a while if you walk in and wait without calling it in.

I’m sad to say that I did not have the same experience as the other reviewers. I stopped by for lunch and tried the General Tso’s chicken lunch special. I’ve had General Tso’s from a variety of other places and admittedly this was one of the worst versions that I’ve tried. The meat were cut in big chunks and covered with a bunch of gloppy sauce. There were a few meat pieces that were too tough to even eat. The sauce didn’t taste much like General Tso’s and I imagine the chef put way too much cornstarch to make it so gooey. It was very clumpy and lacked any appeal or taste. The fried rice looked like it was just covered in soy sauce with no vegetables or anything added on to the rice. The crab meat wontons tasted like cream cheese and were not filled enough. There was no taste of crab at all which was extremely disappointing. I left feeling sad that I had no desire to continue eating the meal and that the food would go to waste. I was interested in their cheesesteak eggrolls and thai options, but I do not think I will return. On a positive note, the worker who took my order was very nice and attentive.

The owners are very very friendly people! When customers enter-in they greet them with a big smile and shaking their hands for you! I really feel comfy to dine-in because I feel home! They also have very great tasty food which gets ready pretty fast! I really love their cheese steak rolls it’s really awesome, I recommend it to everyone! I love to support this kinda locally operated and family-owned businesses! They really deserve every single star i rated them! :)

This place has vegetarian chicken so good that we at one point weren’t actually sure if it was chicken or not. And neither did our meat eating in-laws. It has the added benefit of being one of the only places that delivers to our house, and it’s got the typical pay for one meal get about 6 meals benefit that greasy chinese food places have. The food is good enough to want it once in a while if you want to spend your evening in your pi’s watching a bad movie and eating crappy awesome chinese takeout/delivery. Go for the sesame vegetarian chicken and the steamed veggie dumplings and you won’t go wrong. Steer clear of the fried rice. It looks gross.

Probably the best Chinese takeout in the area. Really amazing sweet and sour chicken and good crab wontons… like, I could actually distinguish crab meat from just cream cheese glop… which was a totally new experience. It was really cheap for a decent amount of food the last time I ordered from there, and the person who answered the phone actually spoke decent English so I didn’t have to repeat myself multiple times, yay!

We just moved to Owings Mills so we needed a «go to» chinese place, having tried other place around town, we came to the conclusion HUNANHOUSEISTHEBESTCHINESETAKEOUTINOWINGSMILLS, MD. A bit pricey but worth it, also it is quite annoying waiting for your food(since the reason one calls ahead is to avoid waiting) We are bit picky and always have a bunch of requests(no egg in the fried rice, no garlic in the chicken & broccoli, add chicken to the shrimp fried rice etc) but they always get it right regardless of our request. Must trys include the Chicken Broccoli, Shrimp & Asparagus… great place but again be prepared to wait…

Pros: — food very flavorful — egg rolls fresh and crispy Cons: — rice not the best — so the food will be hot they finish cooking your order when you arrive, thus it won’t be ready when you get there, which is kind of annoying. This easily the best Chinese food in Owings Mills and definitely has the best egg rolls. Their egg rolls are always fresh and crispy and their food is usually very flavorful. We personally enjoy their General Tsos and Chicken and String Beans. On the downside their rice could be better though we still have not found good fried rice in owings mills. We reccommend giving Hunan house a try if your in the mood for Chinese.
