Pretty good if you want some Mexican food. It’s a little ways off campus so it wasn’t as crowded as other places closer to campus. Arroz con pollo and raspberry margarita were good. You can also get a similar dish with steak and shrimp along with the chicken. They refilled our chips and salsa throughout the meal without us asking. 4 instead of 5 because a) I asked for a water along with my margarita when we ordered drinks and they didn’t bring that till after we got our food, and b) they had the Reds on which was great but not all tvs were on and if you weren’t close enough to the right tv you couldn’t see what was going on. I also liked the Miami M on the wall.

If you’re in Oxford, and you wanna eat Mexican, this joint is your godsend. My wife and I are regulars here, and every time is excellent. I’ve been to San Diego, the haven of fish tacos, and this place still outdoes them in the fish taco department. Each time we’re here, the staff basically treats us like family. We ate there tonight(Sunday), and even though they close at 9, at about 8:45, one of the waiters came up and told us not to worry about it, that we could basically be there as long as it took us to finish our meal. They never make us feel unwelcome here, or like we’re inconveniencing them somehow. It’s always pleasant, always. Anyway, yeah, if you want Mexican, going here is basically mandatory. If you’re not getting fish tacos, get the fajitas del mar. So good!!!

Just«Meh». I usually opt for Fiesta Charra here in Oxford but had some friends who wanted to go for cheap beer night on Thursday while the students were on break. Ordered the Chile Verde(stewed pork chunks in a tomatillo sauce) and the pork came out dry as the Sahara desert and harder than the Rock of Gibraltar. Sadly, in my experience, this is par for the course. Burrito Loco’s food is just«Meh.»

When it comes to Oxford, I am a Fiesta Charra girl, so I always skipped on the opportunity to go to El Burrito Loco. What was the point? I already knew of my favorite Mexican place. But my boyfriend and I recently found ourselves up in Oxford on a Saturday around lunch time and the inevitable, annoying debate started. Okay, what are we eating? I won’t lie, I really wanted Fiesta Charra. I even made him drive by — twice! — to see how busy it was. Then, when he kept requesting that we go to El Burrito Loco, I panicked and started talking about how I was craving wings from Mac n Joe’s. He stated that wings didn’t sound good to him, and both Chipotle and Skyline were absolutely slammed. I knew I was out of luck. El Burrito Loco, here we come… It was wonderful. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The chips and salsa were really good, no different than any other Mexican place, but you can’t screw up chips and salsa! We also got cheese dip and it was delicious. My boyfriend got a chicken chimichanga and it looked wonderful! It was only $ 3 and rather huge! I was surprised. I got Vegetarian Place B(two bean burritos) and man, were they good! The red sauce almost had a smoky flavor to it and they were piping hot. I usually don’t like rice, but there’s was very good. As we were finishing up, a couple came in an ordered some alcoholic beverages that looked truly mouthwatering. Unfortunately, I had to tell my boyfriend that he was right(God I hate that) and El Burrito Loco actually IS delicious! I’ll be back.

Food is great and it’s a decent sized restaurant. A little further from campus than some others, but it’s a good place for a meal.

I rarely get to Oxford anymore, but on this day me and coworker had business there. El Burrito Loco was close by so we decided to try it. I typically don’t like Mexican food because to me it all taste the same. But in this case I was pleasantly surprised. The menu options were plentiful and the lunch prices were very reasonable. The best part of the whole experience was the great service and delicious food. Everything was fresh, hot, and presented nicely. I will definitely go back…

I came here with my son and his roommate on Parent’s weekend. I had the Chori Pollo(chicken with ground chorizo and melted cheese) served with rice, beans and tortillas. My son had the Fiesta fajitas — which is pretty much every type of protein possible that is served. If you order a burrito, they are small. So when they ask how many you want, you have been advised. Overall, the food was pretty good. I think it’s much better than other choices in town, but if you are a student and don’t have a car, it’s a haul. But if you have a car, it’s worth the drive.

I mean this place is pretty good I’ve give you that. I wouldn’t quite call it a hidden gem. But families in Oxford take the family here and upperclassmen seem to enjoy it. Full bar and wait staff.

This place is kind of off of the main drag of High Street in Oxford. My colleague and I came here for lunch and we were not disappointed. We were seated very quickly, served with water, and chips and salsa immediately. We both had their Texas fajita, which was a mix of beef, chicken, and shrimp. It was a huge amount of food for only $ 8.99. Their fajitas were sizzling, tasty, but not greasy. This is very important. The sides included rice, guacamole, and refried beans. These weren’t any special. Unfortunately, we were not asked if we wanted corn or flour tortilla. The default option seems to be flour(boooo). There was supposed to be some pico de gallo served along with my sides, but I think they forgot to give it to me. Oh well.

Love EBL. Food is always consistent, the owner is very cordial and friendly. The servers can be hit or miss but that can be anywhere. Drinks are quick and cold. I’m not a big Mexican food fan but I do love chimi’s and my wife and kids love whatever they order. Its a good place to go in Oxford.

The service was average. It took awhile to order. It was disappointing cause the food and margaritas were great!

I will always love this place more than Fiesta Charra. The margaritas are awesome and the food is great too. Quick service and everyone is very friendly. I like the location because it’s a bit off the beaten path so the crowd is a bit older, rather than the bustling restaurants uptown. Oh, but be prepared for a crazy parking situation on Friday and Saturday nights! It shares a lot with LaRosa’s and the liquor store… enough said.

The food is sub-par, the servers are uninformed and rarely get my order correct. I’ve been 4 times, just to give it a chance, and the last time it made me sick. Not going back, wouldn’t recommend it to any friends or family members I care about.

You’re kidding. Al Pastor made with leftover steak? This is one of three«Mexican» restaurants in Oxford, and like the others, it leaves much to be desired in terms of «Mexican» food. I’m not going to bother with descriptions. It’s Mexican made comfortable for a suburban/rural Ohio student crowd whose idea of flavor is Skyline and who have no basis for comparison. The staff are very nice. My review is merely an intervention into what I consider to be overly inflated ratings on Unilocal

Had a couple of $ 2 margaritas during happy hour last week and they were pretty good! We were a table of 8 ordering mostly drinks and I appreciated that they kept the chips and salsa plentiful. A couple of people ordered food and it seemed like they got a lot to eat– definitely enough for leftovers the next day. I can’t review on whether the food was good/good price though because I didn’t look. I would come back for the margs and to try some food. I also noticed they had mexican beer on happy hour special.

Here’s all you gotta know about El Burrito Loco — it’s the cheap, hot, fast mexican place in Oxford. Look at the name! You know what you’re getting in to. This isn’t some fancy-schmancy place with cloth napkins. It’s a tasty, family-friendly place that will get you in and out and not break the bank. Dishes are basic and straightforward. Trust me — you’ve heard of everything on this menu. Check it out. I haven’t had the margaritas but it sounds like I better grab one next time I’m in there, based on the other reviews.

I am amazed it took me an entire semester to «discover» this place. Upon hearing Hannah P. continuously praising this place and its very existence, I finally decided to come here. I was here for lunch with a friend, and I left impressed. The happy hour lasted for 10 hours, meaning I could reasonably get wasted on margaritas on get so hammered that I won’t care about how many calories I’m taking in. Alcohol is reasonably priced and plentiful at this Mexican restaurant. It wouldn’t be a Tex-Mex restaurant(I refuse to call it a Mexican restaurant if they serve mozzarella sticks) without burritos, refried beans, guac, and meat. All of the above were amazing. I ordered a fajita off the lunch menu. I was shocked by how large it was. I am now tired and need sleep badly. I don’t care how many calories I gained; it was an amazing fajita. I am not sure which Mexican restaurant has won the legendary Battle of Oxford. Fiesta Charra is all shiny and new, which might work for dumbasses. However, I judge a restaurant by its food and overall cleanliness. They appear to be equals. So I do not have a favorite, and can only give this four stars.

Our favorite Mexican anywhere. That is the reason I gave it 5 stars. Compares to best standard fare in Santa Fe. No chef in the back making up daily specials, Standard fare but delivered fresh and of the highest quality and consistency. We love the salsa and chips and I personally love the La Grande. We used to visit the restaurant in Dayton DAILY but it closed a few years back. We now drive an hour each way every couple months to get our fix. We wish it were closer!
