This place is great. Locally owned and operated with fresh food lovingly prepared to please. Steaks are the best you’ll find, their Cajun inspired dishes are as good as you’ll find north of the bayou, their salads thoughtfully prepared with the best ingredients. The seafood ramen is one of my favorite dishes on the planet, and every dessert we’ve tried there is exceptional. Skip the tired old«chain» restaurants and try something fresh, local, and above all outstanding.

Who ever said the food was terrific does not have refined taste buds. Food was over season and burnt. Waited over an hour for low quality food

Delicious food, beautiful plating, adorable location. Calhoun county needs more locations such as this. Well done to the owner! They also have the best«grown up» popsicles! Don’t believe me, go try for yourself. Banana pudding has a real wafer and bananas in it. Pure. Heaven! It’s really a cozy place. It’s smaller than most restaurants, but will easily seat your party. I don’t think it’s necessarily the appropriate environment to being twelve loud children to; however, I don’t see any problems bringing your well behaved family.

Besides the fact that the food at lunch was fantastic Southern cooking, the place is very quaint! It has a ton of history! The raw brick walls and exposed beams in the ceiling take you back in time. I highly recommend the visit! If you get a chance, talk to Charlotte, the owner. She has such a passion for the place and is expanding to the space next door that is equally as charming.

Terrific atmosphere, however, the food just doesn’t pass for local quality. The jambalaya was all rice without any meat, and the majority of other items were salted to the point of being barely edible.

Very nice, classy place, incredible hamburger with mac and cheese. They had items much more upscale… but I felt like a burger. Service was over the top incredible. I will be back

I didn’t even realize Oxford had a small downtown area. Hubbards is a very charming little restaurant, with a great atmosphere, live music, and fantastic food. The place wasn’t overly crowded(which I didn’t understand, but it was great to walk right in and get a table.) The staff was very friendly, but the food was the real medal winner of the night. I had the seared ahi tuna for an appetizer and the shrimp and grits for dinner. Delicious! The musician reminded me of Phoebe Buffay for some odd reason, but accompanied with a glass of Pinot Grigio, he turned out to be very entertaining. I will definitely be going back. Hubbards beats out the chain restaurant competition, which has saturated Oxford over the past few years, ten to one.

I’ve been here twice with my family. The employees and owner are very nice and great with service. I had the grilled shrimp and mashed potatoes. It was wonderful. Definitely a quiet & nice place to go. I’d recommend it to anyone.

One of the best hamburgers I have eaten in a long time cooked to order /perfection. Friendly service, great sweet tea, and wonderful setting. I will definitely be back, perhaps dinner tonight! If your in Oxford check out Hubbard’s on main, you won’t be disappointed. Order the Jacket Burger with a Mac and cheese side, you can thank me later.

Hubbards is an absolute gem of a local restaurant in old Downtown. The southern concepts with a little bit of edge will have you rolling in quite often. I have eaten countless meals here. Never been? A couple of pointers: *They DO take reservations, although you won’t always need one. If you have a big party, it wouldn’t hurt to call them anyways. *The times you would need one are probably busy weekend nights or when there are concerts/events in Downtown. *If the few front parking spots are taken, you can always park in front of the OPAC. Some of my favorite things from the restaurant are as follows, and trust me I’ve tried most of everything! Lunch: Any of the burgers, my favorite is the Yellow Jacket. They also have a different soup of the week every week. Although it’s never my go to(mostly because I’d just rather have the burgers) the meat and 3 options are the most popular at lunch. Hamburger steak, chicken and dumplings, and meatloaf are the meat choices. They also have different sandwiches on the lunch menu. There are lots of different sides to choose from. And my favorite by far is the Mac and cheese. You have to try it. Dinner: My favorites are the filet and shrimp and grits. Hands down the most flavorful shrimp and grits I’ve had. Many people get the prime rib or the stuffed chicken(even though they’re not my personal picks). You can also make a meal of most of the salads by adding protein. I’d suggest adding chicken to the oxfordian(trust me on that one). Hubbards also has a large wine selection, some by bottle and some by glass. They also have some craft and local beer. The service is always excellent. I used to work here, and even when I ate here before I was an employee it was great. It is one of the best, if not the best, local place around Oxford. I’ve even seen regulars come all the way from Gadsden, and often! Go like the page on Facebook to see more pictures and learn about specials :-)

Very good restaurant, especially for Oxford Alabama. Ms. Hubbard is doing a great job operating this establishment. Informal dining with excellent food. She has made The environment very comfortable and the employees are friendly and most willing to serve. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Be sure to check their hours.

I was not impressed with the dinner my significant other and I received. I got the salmon, roasted veggies, and sweet potato soufflé. SO had the prime rib and mashed potatoes. The only things that we’re OK were the prime rib and sweet potatoes. Every thing else was bland and tasteless. Basically, I wasted $ 40. However, I will give them another chance and try their lunch menu ONLY.

I’ve eaten here for lunch and for dinner. Lunch is your best bet by far. Dinner is reasonably priced but not well executed on this evenings visit. But let’s begin with lunch. It’s a meat(choice of a couple or three) and 1,2 or 3 sides. On our visit, we found it to be very tasty which is what prompted a dinner visit. Dinner was with friends and was at best 2 stars. I wouldn’t go back for dinner.
