The Villages, FL
This is the ONLY synagogue that is in The Villages. We did not find the atmosphere warm or inviting. The «spiritual leader» who leads the services does so as if by rote, quickly wth no inflection or emotion. We sat with him at a new members night and he spoke with no one at the table except for a new member of the choir. The Cantor is also the choir director who leads the from the bimah waving her arms as if she were conducting. It was quite distracting. We won’t be going back

Lady Lake, FL
This is a Reform Temple that serves the area of The Villages. They don’t have a Rabbi, but instead have a Spiritual Leader. I usually go to the Chabad House in Ocala, but was unable to do so this Shabbat, and since it was also my Father’s Yahrzeit, I wanted to have a minyan to say Kaddish. I found the people to be open and friendly, and the enthusiasm and joy of the Spiritual Leader filled the sanctuary. While I feel most at home at an Orthodox service, I truly enjoyed the opportunity to welcome in Shabbat with fellow Jews. Thank you Temple Shalom.
