Chinatown Express No 58

I’ve been coming to this spot for years and never have I been disappointed until today. The food is alright, the best things to order here in my opinion is the chow mein noodles and the egg rolls. Everything else is so so.
Today I went in and ordered two plates with chow mein, rice, chop suey and egg rolls. I took this home to my parents. As my mother was halfway done with her plate she found something in her chow mein. She found a piece of metal in the chow mein. My husband proceeded to call the restaurant and spoke to the supervisor. The supervisor said that she would reimburse us the money we had spent in full, plus replacement food.
When my husband and I got to the restaurant and spoke to the supervisor to re-​explain the situation because supposedly she didn’t remember speaking to him over the phone, she seemed to have a big attitude. She acted as if she was doing us a huge favor when, she was at fault. She was not at all understanding, friendly, or considerate.
After everything she said she would only reimburse the money for the food that she saw in front of her (which was my mothers plate because my dad had finished his plate even though we had let her know of this over the phone and she had said that she would still reimburse us the full amount) and no replacement food.
Why is she in food service again? She should go switch spots with one of the cooks in the back so that she makes sure that this doesn’t happen again. I’m sure the cook will do a better job than her in the front of the restaurant.

Stopped here, the food wasn’t that great, and while I was there a man that ordered a plate was getting charged 36 dollars. Obviously a mistake but they argued about it for a few minutes. While I was there got the impression that it it’s poorly run.

Lots of Good food at a cheap price. Recommend the spicy chicken wings and mushroom chicken … Very tasty.

Pretty good Chinese food, a lot better than your typical panda express that’s for sure, staff here are also very prompt and kind, and this place has some reasonable prices!

I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid. There’s usually a line, but it’s worth the wait. It’s basic quick Chinese food but it’s so damn good. The chow mein is awesome, and the teriyaki chicken is great. The portions and generous, since they stack your to-​go box until it can barely close. A must-​try when in south Oxnard.

Are there ZERO stars??? We came in at 8:30 pm and were told that we could eat our food in the dining room area only if we finished before 8:50 pm. wtf? When I paid, again they asked «is this to go?» No we want to effin eat here!!! Cashier said «ok but you have to finish before 8:50pm». Really??? A young couple came in at 8:45 pm and were told sorry dining area closed, you can take food to go. The poor fellow said «I’m a fast eater», to which they said ok but finish in 5 minutes ok? OMG we were so annoyed with this business not appreciating its clientele! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!

This has become my go-​to place for Chinese take-​out, mainly because their chowmein, orange chicken, beef broccoli, and spicy wings always keep making me come back for more. Serving size varies, but I’m usually happy – though I feel like the combo plates have gotten smaller over the years… hehe.

The family and I ate here this afternoon and the place was busy. Apparently, everyone already knew what I was about to find out. The food was great.
The service was fast and the price were on point. $ 5.90 for a 2 choice combo.
I have tried numerous Asian food joints in Ventura County and this was the best so far.
If you’re in Oxnard and been sleeping on Chinatown Express, then you better WAKE UP!

If you want fast and amazing Chinese food, this is the place to go. I recommend every thing here, especially the Orange Chicken, Fried Chicken, and Broccoli Beef. Although they do not make their horchata from scratch, it is still really good compared to many other Mexican places. There are a few tables to sit down on and for this place, it is understandable why they have few tables because it is small, but people tend to just want to eat at home instead.
I have been going here for over 10 years and can never get enough of it. I have to come here at least once a week because the food is just that great. I used to live in Irvine where there are many other Chinese take out places, but they could never compare to this place. Definitely the best place to go if you want Chinese food.
