Clifton Pest Control

I have a newly discovered termite infestation and need to deal with it ASAP. I contacted three local pest control companies for advise and estimates. Clifton Pest Control arranged for an inspection for today between 10am — 12pm.
This morning at 10:30am or so I got a call from Clifton Pest Control informing me that I shouldn’t expect the technician to show up until «closer to 12pm». I waited all afternoon but the Clifton rep never showed up. I haven’t received another phone call or communication from anyone at Clifton Pest Control since.
The two other companies I contacted showed up on time and provided me with estimates.
If this is how Clifton treats potential customers then I would hate to think how they must treat existing customers.
There is nothing Clifton can do or say to convince me to trust them again.

I used James Clifton General to remodel my basement. The Job contracted for was to insure my basement would not have moisture issues. He provided me an estimate, a schedule, a detailed description of the people he was going to use, the quality of the work to be expected and his assurance he had knowledge of the product that was being installed. The only thing that was accurate was the money he charged. His work was shoddy. His workers-​damaged material required for the job and did not replace it. He did not provide the robust crew of competent professionals he promised, most of the time only one person showed up with the wrong tools, no help and no guidance. The sad part this was one of his best people. They left my place a mess after work was done for the day. His crew clogged my toilet with human excrement and left it for my daughter to find and me to cleanup. The job took months instead of the two-​week timeframe and it was left unfinished by my request. I just could not stand by while this circus played out. He flat-​out lied to me about the people to be used, the work to be accomplished and the way he would make things right. These lies happened on a daily basis. After his people broke the screen on my door and it took him two weeks to have it repaired. I literally gave him money to go away. I do not want him to come anywhere near my house again. I will have my room fixed and completed by a reputable Contractor. This has been one of the worse experiences I have ever had with a contractor

We purchased our home in May of 2014 and it had been fumigated by Clifton, which included a 3 year warranty. Fast forward to a few months ago when we found new evidence of termites or pests… our home is maintained by Terminex (we used them at our previous home and loved them). Terminex told us to call Clifton and get them to come back. The first time, they barely looked at the area in question– then they finally poured powder down to see if any new material would present itself. Terminex saw the area was disturbed again and did an inspection, wrote a report, and told us to give it to Clifton. WE HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES. We get the run around. They scheduled incorrectly. They forgot to call back. They think they need a different inpsector. My window today for the latest mix up on their part was today from 3 – 5. It’s 5:40 and hhe just showed up. PLEASE CALL SOMEONE ELSE– HAVE ANYONE ELSE SERVICE YOUR HOME. Did I mention that the fumigation cost almost $ 6000? And they treat us like this! Save your time and money!

James came out and did a through inspection of my home, gave me a quote and I scheduled the work to be done. They were very accommodating regarding my time schedule and got the work done in a timely manner. Later the same day some of the termites broke through one of the bedroom walls after they left and needed to be zapped again. I called the office on Friday at 5:30pm and within 10 mins. got a call back from James the owner. The very next day (Saturday) he had 2 techs at my house to take care of the room and they even touched up the paint for me. This company and it’s workers are awesome.

I am currently in the process of try to buying a house in Camarillo. I originally had the house inspected by Terminix, which overbid the job and tried to say that I needed the house tented. It was tented less than two years ago and James informed that upon repair of the damage if any new infestion was found he would contact the orignal fumigaters and have them honor their three year guarantee. James was very informative and great at explaining the root cause of problems and how other contractors had tried to conceal the problem. I would recommend him to anyone.
