Beware of the cashier! There are a few different men, but the younger one ripped my 10 year old son off today. He wanted to buy a cap gun with his allowance so I sent him to the corner with $ 5.20. The gun was $ 1.99. I told my son to bring $ 3.00 back! Low and behold he comes back with $ 2.50. I know it’s not much, but it’s the point. I marched right back and demanded the extra change. It’s like he makes up a price once you get up to the register. No apology from the guy. I asked him what the tax rate was and he had no response. He should be ashamed of himself. He’s done it before to me, but I let it slide. When you do it to my kid, you’re going to be confronted. Just watch your pennies.

It doesn’t get much better than this place. They’ve got a bitchin candy isle and you can pretty much find anything you’re gonna need. Excellent beer selection though the convenience comes at a premium price.

Good place to go grab something quick, if you live on Silver Strand and don’t want to drive. It is a pretty old school liquor store like you would typically find in the hood. It’s very dusty and cluttered and almost nothing has prices on it. It is nice to have there if you run out of beer or need something in a pinch, but you pay a premium… The guys in there will tell you how much something costs, if you ask them… but you might get a different price every time. I think they pull the prices out of their hat and charge you whatever they want. Since they don’t have prices or barcodes on stuff, they just key it in and give you a total… then you’re like«WTF?» The bottle says $ 6.99 on the sign and you charged me $ 9.99… Then they just give you a gaze and change the price without saying anything else. It’s kind of comedy. Just make sure you know what your paying. The sign outside says they have a deli/sandwiches, but I have not dared to look for that part of the store. I’d have to be being chased by zombies and starving to eat anything from there that’s not sealed from the factory. Even then, I have had one or two candy bars where the chocolate was so old that it had turned white. Like I said… Buying beer there is way cheaper than getting a DUI driving to another store.

Aww the corner store. What would I have done with out this place. When your on the strand you come here at least 3 times a day depending on what you were doing. I do wonder if anyone dusts in there and I never understood why the counter is so cluttered?

This is such a dive of a market. Pretty much the main suppler of beer for Silverstrand.

Three stars given for convenience and in support of a mom and pop business. I will say that this place is convenient if you are a beach local or spending a day enjoying Silverstrand Beach. Many times I have gone there when I run out of cream for my coffee, need a snack or the paper. I will say that you pay for the convenience and they are notorious for charging randomly… nothing is priced so be careful. The store feels a bit crowded with merchandise and could use a good cleaning. One night my friend saw them emptying the chemical laden mop water into the street and down the drains that go straight to the ocean. NOTCOOL!

If you’re ever at Silver Strand, this is the huge liquor store to the left before you enter the small parking lot to the ‘Strand. This place is like a mini-grocery store. They have basically everything you can look for in a store like Albertson’s, Vons, or Ralph’s. They have a huge selection of drinks(alcoholic and non-alcoholic). They also have canned goods, shirts, hats, and just about any thing you would need to bring to the beach just in case you forgot something on your list. A nice neighborhood liquor store. I’m glad something like this is here instead of a corporate store.
