By far the worst place i have ever stayed at, and I have stayed at many hotels in many different cities. We stayed here for two nights, and it was the worst stay we have ever had. To start off, everything closes early here, and there is a courtyard and at night you can’t sit in the courtyard and enjoy the night. also we had someone come to our room and accused us of being loud, when we weren’t even in the room and just literally got back. I can’t believe how rude they were and they told us to go to bed. I’m in shock.

No free breakfast, but they do have a full Starbucks inside. Right off US101, it’s pretty basic but clean. Would happily stay here again for business or a lay over. Could use a better price for what you get, but at least they have good cleaning staff and good amenities.

I’ve stayed here before and give it a 5 star with the following to be noted: get a room in the six floor building and have the room face front of hotel. The staff is excellent, resolved a problem I had with 100 per cent satisfaction, the rooms are very clean, no dogs in the hotel so that adds to cleanliness, the room are very well appointed and clean and bed is comfortable, rooms are quiet, parking plentiful and convenient and free, food is very good and they have a coffee shop, lobby is good for kicking back or small meetings, I seek clean, quiet hotels and this is one and the best Courtyard I’ve ever stayed at and I’ve stayed at 25+. Oh yes, as with any hotel ask if they have sports groups in and avoid if you want to sleep!

My daughter was married this past weekend at Santa Clara Parish church in Oxnard(our beautiful and historic church), and held their reception at Saticoy Country Club in Somis and stayed at the Oxnard Courtyard Marriott. Her friends and our families all received a nice group rate and stayed there as well, almost 30 rooms for several nights each. From start to finish I dealt with Alyssa Penrod. Professional, considerate and responded immediately to all of my email requests for info. She was top notch and made the entire process seamless and even enjoyable. She came through with everything she said she would. The rooms are all recently remodeled and look great. The staff, according to our guests, were nice and accommodating. Plus… no parking fees! I highly recommend this hotel. We had absolutely no issues. For weddings, contact Alyssa and you will be taken care of.

We stayed at the Courtyard for two nights when we got married at the Wedgewood Tower Club in early October. The hotel is Wedgewood’s host hotel and was therefore where not only we stayed, but most people stayed who came to our wedding. The hotel gave us a decent discount for guests to use and extended the expiration date for a few of the procrastinators. I was a bit concerned how nice a hotel that is next to the freeway would be but was very surprised. The rooms are incredibly nice. Most people got the standard King or two queens. They all seemed modern and clean. We also got an Executive Suite for the two nights for use by the bridal party the morning of the wedding, and by me and my husband the night of. The suite was perfect for our needs. The separate seating room was great for hair and makeup to set up in. The little kitchen nook worked well for our refreshments and snacks. We didn’t use the pool or other amenities, but it all seemed very nice.

Good service with check in. We got a room close to the elevators. With staying in 15 different hotels in de last 20 days we can say that it gave no to little noise when people were passing by. Room was nice and tidy. We had dinner here and because the appetizer was to late(got are dinner first) we got a dessert for free! To bad we found hairs on the shower curtain.

First off, they need to have better signage from the main road. Hotel is hidden oddly behind larger buildings, at the backside of a parking lot. Stayed one night in this recently updated hotel. As a Marriott Elite member, I was pleased with the modern furnishings, mini fridge, microwave &24hr. gym access. Disappointed with staff service(or lack thereof) & food options. Check-in process took such a long time even with having the Marriott app with electronic check-in. No complimentary breakfast. Very limited food options. If you want shampoo in your room or towels at the pool… They will NOT be where you expect them to be or there when you need them. You must first make a request with the staff! Then they will pretend it was just a ‘one off’ incident. Not just my experience, I spoke with many other guests who had the same issues. Can’t understand the reasoning behind this. Cutting down tiny expenses? The lobby layout is horrible. Bar/coffee shop with no partition from front desk or lounge area? Who designed this! Despite the pine needles floating around, water temperature in the pool & hot tub was perfect.

Located off the 101. The hotel is toward the back of a plaza. It’s a nice hotel. It had a little store for snacks and such. They have a restaurant onsite. The lobby was well kept. They have a pool and fitness center(didn’t use). We stayed in the«C» building for one night. The room was ultra modern equipped with a microwave and fridge, and standard room amenities but they also had USB ports! I don’t know why we only had one trash receptacle located in the bathroom and no where else in the room. Minor inconvenience. Finding strands of hair on the bathroom counter. eh. We were on the first floor so our back sliding door opened out into the public area. There are pros and cons to this but mostly con for myself because I’d be more paranoid with safety issues than anything. Next, the ice machine down the hall didn’t work. Another inconvenience. Overall, it was just one night and yeah, some things struck me as odd but nothing crazy. We were literally in and out and it served it’s purpose.

Recently remodeled building C still smells of fresh paint. That aside remodel is modern. Missing towel hook on back of bathroom door. Bed was so comfortable! ! We had a change of plans and had to check out early. Staff was very friendly & accommodating. There was no hassle with checking out early. All in all very pleasant stay for the night

We almost did not stay here because of the Unilocal reviews, but I am glad we did. The rooms were very clean(we stayed on the 3rd floor), modern and quite large. There was a balcony that overlooked the pool area, and it was big enough to walk outside but not to sit. The bathroom was a little small but overall our experience was very nice.

I stay Marriott quite often and this Courtyard has renovated rooms that I would put on par with just about any hotel that Ihave stayed in. Very modern.

So, here we go again. Out in Oxnard for another company trip. My company, very large manufacturing company that puts many people up, originally had me staying at the Renaissance down the street. I thought since I knew Courtyard had almost finished renovations and they are closer to my company I would give them another try. Boy was this a mistake and last time I stay there. Check in was ok and the rooms were updates to newer style. But right away, around 6pm, I noticed I had loud neighbors. I called to front desk to see if I could be moved and didn’t want to cause an issue with neighbors. Of course out of this large hotel there are no available rooms. I gave it some time and complained again. I was reassured since they wouldn’t move me that they would ask them to quiet down. This didn’t quiet down until 11pm with constant doors opening and slamming through the night. Part of the problem here could also be the super thin walls that do not insulate sound. I asked for a manager to contact me the following day to possibly get a room change and a good nights sleep. To no surprise there was no follow up. So second night stuck in same room next to the super loud group. I stay at Marriot properties about 30 – 40 nights a year, so I have experienced different hotels. This one is one of my least favorites. Plus side(or there would have only been 1 star) — the rooms are updated and the lobby is new. However, they need a little quality control with the new rooms. Blue painters tape still on walls. Baseboard carpet peeling off. Found clothes in my room from the last person who stayed in the room. No place to hang the iron or iron board. Some other little things that still need to be addressed. So to sum it off… if you have a choice to stay somewhere else, I would do so.

I have been coming to the Courtyard Hotel Ventura for the past seven years for an annul seminar. In that time the quality of the hotel and the staff has gone up tremendously. With a refurbishing of their front desk area their restaurant and the rooms the has been very pleasurable. The staff has also gone through many changes. They are very courteous and very aware of the names of the guests but stay there. The cost of the hotel is very competitive to the competition in the area. I would recommend this hotel to anybody that is coming through the area.

You’re better off at the Motel 6, if you’re not lucky enough to land a room in the main building, you’re in for a terrible night. I would never pay my own money to stay here. I have to stay here for business, can’t wait for checkout!

I’ve stayed in quite a few courtyards the last few weeks and they’re all been remodeled until I got to this one but… they’re currently in the process of a remodel! I love the newly remodeled lobbies in all the courtyards, the dark colors mixed in with the bright orange and green colors and they all have the cute little market where they have plenty of «market» items which all desk employees seem say it in the same tone of voice! I stayed in the tower that’s currently in the remodel process, I arrived at 9pm and left by 9am, I just wanted the closest room to the lobby and my car so it was fine for me. The room was definitely older and outdated compared to the other courtyards I’ve stayed in recently but I know I’ll be back at this hotel in a few months and then I can update my review!

Checked in here a couple of times. And like the stars say. Meeeh. The good: Lobby is remodeled. Free Wifi. Room is decently clean The bad: No free breakfast, no room service. There is a starbucks in the lobby but the«baristas» don’t seem to know how to make the drinks or what some of the drinks are. Limited selection of hot foods. The ugly. It’s just old. People – meaning the staff are indifferent to guests and amenities are ran down.

This Courtyard is a solid 3-star location. The lobby has been renovated, but some of the old furnishings remain. The rooms have an odd combination of 90’s style décor, most of it worn, some of it in need of replacement, like the lamps and their worn-out receptacles. And it might be hard to find for some people, but I had no problem locating it behind an office complex, not far off the highway The staff was very friendly and helpful, but overall, this is just an average place

My company uses this Courtyard for all of it’s remote employees who visit our corporate office in Oxnard. I’m typically here(3) days per week and have attained status on Unilocal as the Duke of this Courtyard. To say the least, I have been here long enough to understand the positives and the negatives of this establishment. I’d like to first address those those of you that have written bad reviews or stated that the staff here is not friendly or fake. I could not disagree with you more. I’ve found the staff to be extremely helpful, from helping me find a room for me and bikes, to remembering my favorite breakfast plate, the staff here really cares about it’s guests. To give you an example, my mother is battling cancer, it’s been rough on me being away from my family for work during this time. I was able to connect and even share tears with one of the ladies at the Bistro, who’s mother lost her battle with cancer. These are Real People who try to add value to your experience here at the Courtyard. I will agree with some of you that the walls may be a little thin, the hallway carpet outdated, and that one dog that barks over near the C building, to be very annoying. That said, if cosmetics is all you are concerned about, the lobby is very current and up-to-date, the Gym is AMAZING, the pool is always warm, and again the Staff is very helpful and pleasant. The manager, Dwight, is an outstanding guy who seems to have this hotel running like clockwork. At the end of the day, this hotel will meet your needs, provide you a great atmosphere for breakfast, provides you a great place to workout, is near a highly trafficked freeway, the beds are very comfortable, and they have all of the extra amenities(like a refrigerator in your room) that make it better than other hotel chains I’ve stayed at. I love it here, and I think you will too!

I would’ve given this place a 3 star at least, however there were a few things that would make me reconsider not staying here again. Pros: Large room Comfortable bed and pillows Swimming pool and jacuzzi Nice layout for hotel lobby Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo Clean room Friendly staff — gave a good recommendation for dinner Lots of parking available Free wi-fi in room/lobby Cons: Pool not well kept and not as heated as indicated THINWALLS! I could hear the people next door’s conversation and plans for the next day and people walking in the hallway. Thank goodness we weren’t right next to the elevator. Balcony was a standing one allowing very limited movement. Bathroom is so tiny! Very limited space with the door open that nearly touches the toilet. Housekeeping coming by super early to clean on multiple attempts. A little on the pricier side considering all of the above.
Unusual area to have a hotel, hidden behind buildings but could be a plus I guess because you may not realize it’s there. Having stayed at many Marriott chain hotels, I was a bit disappointed in this one overall.

The satellite tv re reception is really bad. Tb loses signal constantly and went off an hour. . One benefit of an older hotel is it seems quieter, not much noise heard while in the rooms. Bathroom by lobby is very nice. New towels are very nice. Sheets are new. Exercise room needs fans. Add some wall mounted fans like other marriott gyms have. It’s hard enough to work out, but a nice cooling fan really would make it so much better in there. On each floor near elevators, floors 2 to 6, there is a 1980’s framed wall art that is out of place, pale blue watercolor, looks tacky. Rooms need new drapes.
