I had such high hopes for this place. A fish place in the marina, its a no brainier. I will say I only stopped in for lunch and wanted to try the fish tacos. I was with two other people and I made them wait so we could try this fish place that opens at 11:15 and not one minute sooner. They open the doors at 11:00 and people are lined up waiting to order at exactly 11:15. I counted 13 people in line wait for the special time. I ordered the a shrimp taco, mahi taco, Calmari taco and a mahi burrito with an order of fries. The fries were great. The tacos were OK, wasn’t fond of the cold frozen cheese just sprinkled on the top. Salsa provided was average, not fresh and not alot of flavor. I would come back but I would order something different.

Fishmarket in the harbor with good Unilocal reviews… I woulda thunk it would be a hit. Hmmm… not so much for me. . First off, they open at 11:15 and there is already a line developing at 11:00. When I order a burrito with brown rice at 11:15 why isn’t the brown rice ready? Making a customer wait 15 minutes because the brown rice hasn’t been cooked yet isn’t very good planning if you ask me. I ordered the Mahi Mahi burrito. To be honest, 2 stars for it would be generous. It was 90% rice with some nog melted cheddar cheese and arrived lukewarm warm. It was served with salsa that was just ok. Not great, not bad. The only saving grace for this place was the fries. They were delicious. I’m sad to say, I wasn’t impressed and I won’t be back.

I live 3 minutes away and had never been to this place until today. Well, they have a very big menu and took me like 10 minutes to finally decide on clam chowder, salmon and mahi mahi taco, well they were all delicious! I should have taken a picture but I was too excited over my food to remember to take one. It’s pricey(I know seafood is pricey) but we’ll worth it. Spent a little over 50 bucks on salmon & chips, fried shrimp &chips 2 mahi mahi tacos, 2 extra small clam chowders and 2 drinks. I will be going back and trying something else.

Someone told us to try this on our trip to Port Hueneme, and now I’m telling all you Unilocal people, I’m not a fish person, but this pako crust fish and chips is out of this world. This fish tastes so clean and not oily. Come and try it.

When I’m away from home, I miss two things(foodwise, anyway): Mexican food and Fisherman’s Catch. I was home for three days last weekend and went to Fisherman’s Catch for lunch twice. I generally get a fish bowl(most often thresher shark, halibut, or mahi mahi) with double veggies, and my mom gets a fish sandwich(most often mahi mahi, tuna, or snapper). The very generous helping of fish is always flaky and perfectly seasoned and never, EVER dry, and the fries that come with the sandwiches have that amazing twice-fried crisp. I will note, though, that both my mom and I have noticed that, while the fish is ALWAYS perfect, the sides seem to be better-executed at lunch than later in the day, when the veggies especially tend to be a bit mushy. Anyway, I love this place, and I’m back to missing it until next time.

Give ‘em another try on the lobstahs. We came armed with our own nut crackers and hummer forks, towels. Place still gives no hand wipes for a $ 501.5 pound lobster. We repeated with the counter that we wanted no one to crack open the lobster except us this time. The lobster was very good. Steamed just right. Filled with tamale in all and roe in one. Meat tasty and tender. One small bowl of clam chowder was as good as ever. You still are one step above burger king with table delivery but you bus your own dishes err, cardboard. With lobster at 7.00 per pound in New England not sure why they have to charge close to 50 here. Ambiance one star Décor one star Table setting zero Waitstaff three stars Side dishes two stars Lobster four stars

I’m giving this 5 stars because the seafood is very fresh and all foods we had were fresh. Prices are comparable to Andrias for real grilled fish. Very good, fresh yellowtail, delicious clam chowder. Just don’t come if you’re some self entitled person. Good is good, fresh, family owned -‘busy and fun!

The food is excellent here. If you’re looking for fresh seafood and cooked to order, this is the place to be. I also ordered the shrimp tacos. Highly recommended. Ryza is very knowledgeable about the menu. Ask for here.

Very plain restaurant. The clam chowder was okay I hit a couple lightly sandy clams, it needed seasoning some salt pepper and a little dill would have woken the chowder up. We ordered the grilled scallops and they were fair a little heavy on the sauce they grill them in. The nice part of this restaurant is it is a fresh fish market too and they do have some great offerings of fish and seafood to take home to cook.

Have eaten here before. Disappointed tonight. Red Snapper was not fresh. Tasted bad. Old. Couldn’t finish it. For these prices it should be much better. My sea bass was good though. But my spouse’s crummy red Snapper was just plain bad and that ruined dinner. What happened to them?

The food is delicious! The service was great too! When we came in, we didn’t know what to expect. It surpassed our expectations. We ordered the fisherman’s catch because we wanted to try a variety. The food was delivered to our table quite shortly after we sat, so awesome! The fish was awesome. Nice crispy covering with very decent flaky fish on the inside. Nice big fish filets too, not fake stuff. The shrimp is super delicious. They use a decently large size shrimp to begin with, and after frying, it’s still large, flavorful, and super delicious with their cocktail dipping sauce. The calamari is very good too! Super crispy and fresh.

SEAFOOD. SEEFOOD. While in Oxnard searching for venomous beach snakes, this place crossed my path. It’s in a small plaza next to a nice Marina. Reminds me of those simple seafood places by the docs that serve quick fried seafood items. The prices were reasonable bit I’ve had way better for cheaper. CLAMCHOWDER — perfect blend of ingredients. Had an xs ordering because I didn’t want to get full from just clam chowder. It was creamy but not too creamy, had the right amount of seasoning, potatoes, and celery to the point where it wasn’t cream of vegetable soup, the pieces of clams were meaty and cut into itty bites — perfect amount where you’re not searching for clam meat with your spoon. CLAMSTRIPS — this is unusual, the clam necks were huge and meaty. I have never had clam strips this large before. Honestly, some may like the preparation but for me it was just ok. Why? The crunchy batter outer layer was amazing and thin(not overly batteries and thick) but to get that crunchy and brown you have to deep dry the clams well… Some of my clam strips were so chewy like bubble gum, that’s a sign of over cooking. I’m not sure what kind of clam they used, it felt like I was eating clams strips on steroids. I’d order it again but will have to set the chew ones aside. Until the next review…

Came here even though the reviews were mixed. The location is in a large strip center with easily accessible parking. I opted to dine on the shared patio since I had Iz my pug along for the weekend getaway. I asked the gal behind the counter what was fresh since they didn’t have any fresh crab in and she advised me — the halibut which I ordered and also ordered the cod & chips. The food arrived promptly but the two pieces of halibut was over cooked and dry which was edible but disappointing. The fish and chips were average and nothing to write home about. I really wanted to to enjoy my experience here but unfortunately it just didn’t go that way and probably wouldn’t return.

LOVEDDDDTHISPLACE! My coworker and I both got the Grilled Salmon plate and it was DELICIOUS. The salmon was so soft and moist and flavorful and their tarter sauce was great as well! Minus one star because there’s no more Spicy Sushi Salad. Someone should really change the main picture of their listing, because it’s false advertisement. :( Otherwise, great lunch spot with super fresh seafood! FYI: they have fresh salmon, halibut, and a few other fishes everyday and you can definitely tell!

Some menu items are great some are average! You order your food and then sit at a table, and they bring you your food. The view(if you sit outside) is absolutely beautiful! The boats on the water with the palm trees are stunning! The food: Grilled mahi mahi tacos: 4/5, the fish is cooked extremely well. The overall taco was just okay. It was very messy and the vegetables wee just hastily throw on. Shrimp tacos: 3/5, pretty similar to the mahi mahi tacos. The shrimp was cooked well just not well seasoned. Tilapia and rice– 2/5, the fish was not cooked well and was not well seasoned. It was just thrown together Overall, the food is average. I would come here for the experience however! It’s such a beautiful place to sit.

From reading the other reviews, I’d say to management that guests are giving you great suggestions on how to improve your business. I hope you’ll listen and take these comments to heart. Those who report unhappiness don’t sound like they’re griping just to gripe. They had legitimate concerns that went unmet by your staff. My understanding is this is a family owned restaurant. Surely you don’t wish to fail. So take the constructive criticism in earnest and act accordingly to improve your service. Successful interactions with the customers are your lifeblood. We visited on a Saturday afternoon several weeks ago. Escaping the inland heat, we tried your place to get relief from the heat and enjoy fresh seafood. ‘Twas an uneven experience. Layout of the order station seemed awkward. Folks trying to read the menu were clashing space-wise with others trying to get self-serve sodas. Only the fresh fish market section was segregated with ample room for guests to view and order their selections. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the breezes and the view. The order taker gestured toward the general vicinity. I didn’t feel particularly welcomed. Their attitude appeared to be rote, versus grateful for the business. Chose the snapper special. Great value at $ 9.99. Several large pieces of fish came with coleslaw. Tasted fresh with a delicate flavor. DH and I could have split the plate. He ordered the calamari & chips; a plentiful serving. The taste was middle of the road from other calamari dishes we’ve tried. As we were on the road, and didn’t have a cooler, felt we had to finish as much as we could versus throw away good food, which left us both feeling too full. Would share one plate with perhaps an extra side to share next time. The restaurant sets next to the harbor at Seabridge. Beautiful setting on a sunny day. However, you can’t really see it from many of the outdoor tables. The landscaping has grown too tall and completely blocks the water view. A few spots farthest away from the entrance have an unobstructed line of sight. But none of the tables have umbrellas, and during the height of day, it’s too warm and sunny to sit there comfortably. We chose one that was partially shaded by exterior columns, and couldn’t see the harbor. Tables seemed to be dirty — not wiped down in between parties using them. Either they need bar height tables to see the view, or umbrellas so the tables can be moved around and take advantage of one of their big selling points. All in all, a mixed bag. With greater care and oversight by the management, this could improve and offer a happier experience for customers. We’d give them another shot, but would look for a big uptick in attention to detail across the board.

3.5 stars! Very good clam chowder full of clams and other goodies. Not too watery with good consistency in the soup base. Comparable to Seattle’s Pike’s Place. Also tried their fish bowl which comes with brown or white rice and veggies(broccoli and cauliflowers) for about 8 – 9 $. Not bad, needs more flavor. The fish I picked was Red Snapper which was tasty but the rest of the bowl was bland. Prices are expensive as most seafood places I guess but needs more flavoring then! Also lines can get long so make sure you come early. People wait outside before it opens O_o

This is a hidden gem in Oxnard. I was craving a good bowl of clam chowder and Unilocal pointed me here. I’ve had pretty good clam throughout the west coast and their clam chowder is pretty legit. Their small bowl of clam chowder goes for about 5 bucks. The clam chowder here has a thick consistency and it was pretty flavorful with lots of clams inside of it. I also got the Captain’s combo, which consist of fried fish, shrimp and calamari. That goes for 15 bucks. It was good, but then again it’s pretty hard to mess up fried food, unless you’re not paying attention. I recommend sitting outside if it’s a nice day, because it overlooks a docking port for small boats. It’s really peaceful and serene. They also sell fresh seafood here and the prices are really reasonable, too.
