The food fare was delicious as buffets go. My only concern was not about the food but the restroom facilities. It was not up to par, to say the least. I think the mangolian stir fry, cook as needed, was as good as anything I have been to in the Los Angeles-Orange-San Diego areas.

The Staff was great ! Very friendly. When you walk in, you get hit by this massive funky smell that makes you want to run out but if you manage to survive this horrid smell, you will be met with even more disappointment. All the seafood feels like it’s old(frozen and reheated), the dim sum taste like a hot dog, spicy chicken isn’t even remotely spicy, their breaded fish and shrimp tastes like a breaded condom, and personally I couldn’t finish my entire plate without having to defecate my butt butter. Overall I wouldn’t advise coming, if anything the water was the best thing here.

I’m even embarrassed to say that I was there… Area garbage, service even worse and the restrooms were like a roomy por-o-potty! I only came because my very good buddy was having a baby shower.

…dont come in here with high expectations but out of the two buffets in oxnard this is the best one… i read some negative reviews and if you look at the picture of the exterior of the restaurant how could believe that youre going to experience five star dining??? what you see is what you get… anyways the food at fuji is a little bit better and has a little bit more selection… fuji has a mongolian grill which may or may not make a difference but city buffet advertises that it has a mongolian grill but it doesnt… the salt and pepper shrimp is probably the best thing they got going… service is prompt and courteous and they have tvs to keep customers occupied if you get bored… restrooms are so-so(as long as you dont do a number 2 youre ok)… imo three stars is the maximum rating that i can give this place… the location… appearance and everything else makes it hard to give it anymore than three stars… would i come back??? ummm let me think about it over some toppers pizza and ill get back to you…

Good foods, sweet services! Good price of lots of seafood food. I like seafood of crab legs. It’s a good place. Try it!

I may have spoken too soon. The day after eating here, my son and I got very ill. Can’t say 100% it was here, but aside from eating here, I only ate at home. I ate dinner here on Sunday and we became ill on Monday. Our symptoms are typical of food poisoning. I looked them up on the Ventura Environmental Health Website and OMG… There’s a laundry list of violations! See for yourself. Click on the link below

Got there at 830 and there is like no food left. So many empty trays. Seem like they stop cooking early even though they close at 10 on Friday.

Yes, it’s a buffet. Yes, the goal here is mass production vice the delicate quality that might be found at non-buffet resturaunts. You’re starving, low on cash and are looking for semi-tasty calories in a chinese theme that you can consume until sated. Well. Choose elsewhere. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is a lot lower than it should be. Meat products were chewy. Most sauces were either sweet, or spicy. In fact, that’s all the flavor present in any of the sauces. And by sweet, maple syrup sweet. And by spicy, a dash of red pepper spicy. Fried items were soggy. Rice was hard. Vegitables floppy. Food was generally speaking, over MSG’d and even then, bland. Service was quick and friendly. The entire place was very clean: showing attention and care for the facility. Most buffet type places are usually a mess of food scraps: this wasn’t the case here. Staff was fast to refill drinks and take away dirty plates. Plenty of parking. However, the food. Better avoided.

It doesn’t look like much, but the food it pretty good. The workers seem nice. With a little extra care for decorating and some personal touches and making sure the food is put out a little faster this pace would be great. I’d go back again.

This place is very good. It has a lot of different things from a regular, every day chinese buffet. There is tons of seafood. Steamed fish, fried fish, fried shrimp, bacon wrapped shrimp, spicy shrimp, whole shrimp cold and hot, mussels, oysters, crab in clam shells, and CRABLEGS. There are also a lot of other dishes like orange chicken, honey chicken, chicken on skewer, broccoli beef, egg rolls, pot stickers, chicken wings, quesadillas, spanikopita, garlic bread, a full salad bar with whole shrimp and squid, and a desert bar. Too numerous to name actually. I forgot to mention the sushi and the Mongolian BBQ. SERIOUSLY! Oh, and while I don’t know the exact price, our ticket was $ 26 for two and one drink. If you are looking for gourmet go somewhere else. If you want a good variety, good value, and not your usual fare then give it a try.

This place is easily the worst buffet restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. The food is just plain lousy. I’m actually shocked that the place is still in business. Definitely not worth going.

The quality of the food is between decent and poor. The appearance and ambiance is not welcoming. The service is truly terrible, I decided not to tip our waitress because she didn’t pick up our empty plates until before we left and didn’t refill our drinks until we asked. I also noticed that they added the gratuity with out informing me, I didn’t mind because I knew I was not going back. Now, when the waitress noticed that I didn’t leave a tip on top of what they had already added she started speaking in her language, gave me a dirty look, and I’m pretty sure she was not complementing me. If there was an option here to give this place negative stars, believe me; I would.

There were a decent amount of people eating. The chicken looked okay until we took a bite of what tasted like mosquito repellent. The place was dimly lit and had a «funky» smell. The waitress was nice but when asked she said she wouldn’t eat at fugi buffet. It was much like what I would believe hell would be like. I feel sorry for the next sorry soul that wanders in to fugi buffet, more like fungi buffet. They will be heading straight to the bathroom stalls with diarrhea.

Smells TERRIBLE!!! Very gross. Food is alright and the waiters are not welcoming and assume every colored person speaks Spanish. Very rude. Waiters look bored and have a constant disgusted look on their face. DONOTCOMEHERE!!!

It’s kind of depressing to eat here. I’ve been here three times and I continue to hate myself for thinking«maybe it will be better.» It’s pretty pricey too, considering the quality of the food and the cost, it’s much better to just buy a 2 entrée combo at your favorite Chinese food take-out.

We called prior to going there and they explained the prices were $ 7.99 for adults. We arrived and they instructed us to pay upon leaving. Upon leaving we were charged $ 10.99 per adult and they added the gratuity without informing us. Thank goodness we can add which stopped us from over tipping. The food was not great and definitely NOT Japanese, as you would expect from the name Fuji. There were a few small plates with terrible sushi.

Gross! We went at 8pm and 40 min later everything was still the same, no trays refilled, empty trays. The only thing I was able to put on my plate was a slice of roast beef which was also gross. Tasted a cream puff and it was rotten. Food my boys got was bland and had no flavor. Not a big choice of options and what was there either looked liked it had been sitting there for a while or they tray was empty. Just don’t do it!

Food was hot, but the variety was not that great. Good to see that most of the waiters were from the same area I’m from in China, haha.
