There is FINALLY a BBQ God in town,(Santa Barbara) My goodness, I had to stop mid bite in my trip-tip sandwich just to Unilocal about how good it is! Yummy x millions!!! Tip: Ask for the spicy sauce for extra flavor :-)

Their truck came to Pt. Mugu NAS today, which we are thankful for because we have VERY limited food choices here. I had their signature Cali-Tex sandwich which has a combo of tri tip and brisket. The bun was lightly grilled and the sauce tasty and authentic. Mac and cheese as a side was also very good. Would like to give more stars but their prices are too high. $ 10 for the sandwich itself and an extra $ 2 for a side. While it was good food, I thought it was about $ 2 too much. I ate the sandwich and side and am still a little hungry. They also have breakfast burritos which sound good but not for $ 7.

This truck was at the Westlake Home Show this weekend. Wow, what a great sandwich! First of all, the window guy(sorry, I missed your name) was wonderful. What a beautiful, pleasant smile, great attitude and lovely sense of humour. He made the(short) wait worth the while. My hot-link sandwich? Yummy! Great flavor, just the right amount of spice and the sauce? Well, that’s the business name. Superb sauce. It was flavorful, rich, and it may even have had a dash of sugar or honey to sweeten up the the hot-link. Can’t wait to find this truck again. They get my vote! Oh, let me remember the 7-Up cake too. Bought a piece to share. It didn’t make it, had to buy another right away. Does that say enough? Thanks!

Cali-tex sandwich and peach cobbler are my favorites. I always end up eating here on Food Truck Friday’s at the Ventura mall.
