The funeral and cemetery business is a racket. When a loved on passes you find that every single thing cost a significant amount of money and you have limited to no options. Although it can seem daunting, Reardon Funeral Home is well worth the price. We opted for one of their packages and they took care of everything from there. It’s amazing how they were there every step of the way to ensure a smooth process. In addition, the way they carried themselves was in a kind and caring manner. My family noticed it when we had to speak with the cemetery regarding the burial. Two different worlds. The cemetery was harsh while Reardon took an easier approach with us. As a side note. We purchased a casket from an online source because we thought it would have saved us a significant amount of money. It turned out to be the same. When you browse the Reardon website there is an error regarding the range of costs for a casket. The range was from ~$ 7k-$ 9k. That’s not the case. The caskets at Reardon range from ~$ 900-$ 9k. Had we known that we would have just purchased everything from Reardon. Lastly, Reardon is one of the few family owned funeral homes left in Ventura County. Many funeral homes were bought out by Dignity Memorial, a national corporation, but they retained their«family» names. I’m glad we noticed that too because it’s nice to shop locally instead of an investor owned company.

My love had suffered with cancer for 2 years and his body could not take any more treatment. The treatments had destroyed him and on the way to the airport, for what we knew would be our last trip to Key West, our favorite place, he hemorrhaged and passed away later that day. The event in KW we were going to was going to be his good-bye to all his friends and his wishes were to have his ashes spread in the waters of KW near Sunset Key. I knew I had to be on a plane headed for KWASAP to make the event. The people at Reardon made that happen. What should have taken a week or more, they accomplished in a couple days and I fulfilled his wishes. Along with that it helped me to get through those first few days with people that were close. I can not thank them enough for how they handled it. They were amazing and I would recommend them highly. Because of their caring concern, I was able to carry out his final wishes and be comforted by our friends. Not many go to that extra length anymore these days. Would give them 10 stars if I could.

My grandfather Orville, passed away suddenly and quickly. My grandmother was to ill to plan the arrangements so I had to be the one to do so. I had no idea what to do or expect. Reardon funeral home is whom I choose to handle my grandfathers preparations. I cannot get over how well I was treated by everyone whom works here. The staff members were so helpful and caring. They all went out of their way to guide me through a very difficult time. Good customer service is hard to find these days and I truly was treated with nothing but kindness. And most importantly my grandfathers services and arrangements were done beautifully. Special thanks to Spencer.

Experiencing the sudden lost of our Father was hard, but even harder a few hundred miles away from home. In respect for our Father’s place of departure, while working at Ventura Harbor, my mother chose to complete our services there. I called a few places, but Reardon provided the most comprehensive service for our every need. Nicholas was most compassionate of our needs to pay our last respects and guided us through our weakest mental state of experiencing a lost of a loved one. God bless all of you for what you do.

I’m not sure how my family decided on using this mortuary for my grandmother but I’m very thankful they did. I was 17 when she died and the mortuary included me in all the arrangements just as much as the rest of my family. This mortuary was so incredibly polite, called us several times to see if they could be of any help to the family and they even sent us flowers. They took care of everything and before doing anything, called us to make sure our whole family was ok with it. This is very rare for a mortuary to care this much. A couple weeks after we were done using this mortuary, my family received a package in the mail from them. They had made us beautiful bookmarks with my grandmothers picture and her obituary on it, all free of charge. A family member wanted her to be cremated with a little bear that wax given to her, this was no problem at all. Another family member wanted a little bit of her ashes in a separate bottle with the top sealed, this was also no problem at all and was done at no cost. This place is very clean and welcoming. They are very compassionate to your loss and are there to help you in any plans needed for a funeral. They even gave my family an outline of how to write an obituary because none of us had ever written one before. Although nothing may seem to help the grieving process, these people really took the stress away from my family.
