There Thursday taco deal went from 1 $ a taco to 2 $ a taco. The only difference is they add a tortilla. Won’t be going back.

I give Tacos Don Chente A well deserved one star. My experience is simple when the restaurant first opened it was great, everything was fresh and tasted great…
However I work out of town all the time and I hadn’t been here in quite sometime, the past two times that I’ve gone thru the drive thru I’ve had food that’s been anything but fresh or tasty, to not go into too much detail on one occasion my order was wrong and I didn’t get everything that was suppose to come with my food, on my last trip my ceviche had gone bad, so odiously it wasn’t made fresh it had been in the refrigerator for some time…
As much as I’d like to give it a another chance I won’t… Bye bye Tacos Don Chente, you won’t be getting my money no more…

I’ve been here a couple times the first time wasn’t bad at all. My mom has had me pick up tacos for her on Thursdays when they’re $ 1. Today I went for a carnitas quesidilla. There was no line in the drive thru and we ended up waiting a good 15 minutes for an oily, mess of a quesidilla. On top of that she didn’t even apologize for making us wait.

This is my second time and they are very fast and my breakfast now look so so delicious authentic Mexican restaurant. Highly recommended.

My new favorite Mexican joint in Oxnard. Can’t beat the Specials. Lots of choices in meats — they have tripas, buche, even goat! Salsa bar is awesome… Lots of choices. Service was awesome, and speedy delivery of food

Tacos Don Chente in Oxnard is a great story. First, the location, which use to be an Arby’s way back when, has been cursed with failing businesses for as long as I can remember. In fact, the owners, two brothers of a very successful restaurant family (El Pescador in Fillmore and several TDC’s), told me that they were advised more than once that this was a «bad location.» Carlos and Victor Ortiz (not to be confused with the Oxnard boxer Victor Ortiz) saw something completely different, a perfect sized space with plenty of parking and a drive thru.
First things first, these brothers know how to train and customer service is a huge priority to them. When you’re at TDC, you can expect great service. Another main priority is supporting their community; TDC supports several community events and programs every year.
But of course you want to know about the food. Well if you haven’t figured it out already… two brothers from a long history of successful restaurants… that care about service… that care about their community, ALSO care about their food, and you can tell. Of course everybody has their individual taste preference and TDC’s flavor is unique but regardless of what you order, you can expect generous portions, a good price and high quality food. The juices and fruit bowls are major highlights and the drive thru is an added plus, and I believe the only high quality Mexican restaurant with a drive thru in the area (If you just thought to yourself, «What about Green Burrito?» slap yourself and then continue reading.)
