CASH ONLY AT TAQUERIAS Honestly some of the best Mexican food in Oxnard I prefer this location to the one on saviers ceviche tostadas are always fresh and juicy I hate dry ceviche it so basic but their rice and beans are so good I usually do a carnitas super taco omg hot crispy carnitas cheese guac and sour cream I die. Love all their aguas frescas fresh juices in English they have pina Jamaica horchata limon and my favorite cantaloupe yummmmm! The do great shrimp cocktails and also fresh squeeze orange and carrot juices way cheaper than Jamba Juice. Only complaints are lines they get busy at the usual lunch and dinner but I wait cuz it’s worth it !

Service can be a bit better but overall EVERYTHING IS AMAZING here. Real good food. A must try.

All the burritos are very good, especially the pastor. Though I can’t comment on the ethics of an all-​cash business. Especially one that has an ATM with a 3 dollar fee.

Wow amazing food one of the best burrito shops in oxnard huge cheese quesadilla the only problem is long lines because the food is so great worth waiting in line for defiantly have a repeat customer.

First time here, ordered the asada torta and super the food came out quickly and everything was delicious! Love how they have the condiment station out with chips (which were warm). Green salsa was also very good. I can see why this place gets so busy. They have $ 1.10 dollar tacos on Tuesdays and various other specials throughout the week. I can’t wait to return!

Taqueria El Tapatio No. 2 offers up some delicious and authentic tasting Mexican food at a reasonable price. In Ventura County, it doesn’t get much better than this.
I’d recommend the asada wet burrito, or the fish tacos special on Thursdays. The food is always good, and the service by Carla is always friendly.
A great salsa bar, too. Muy bien!

My wife and I have been going to Taqueria El Tapatio No 2 for years and by far think it is the best Mexican food we have tried in the area. It may look like a hole in the wall, but they have great food at a reasonable price and are always busy. We usually get the carnitas burritos, and I order mine with no salsa since it is too spicy for my palate. They provide free chips and pico de gallo as well as salsa and other items. There is plenty of seating inside and outside next to the Oxnard Airport. However, they are a cash only place, so bring your money or stop by the ATM before going.
We recently had Taqueria El Tapatio No 2 cater a party with a Taco Man style cart and it was fantastic. They had 3 different meats (Carne Asada, seasoned Chicken, and Al Pastor/​Pork cooked up hot and ready with corn tortillas on the spot. They also provided rice and beans, chips, pico de gallo, salsa and lemons, and cilantro and onions as well as plates and napkins. They were very quick and professional, and served for an hour. Their price per person was reasonable, they have a 50 person minimum for catering, which was fine for our party. They left the remaining food with us after serving was done (we needed containers to put the food in), and that worked out well so that we could eat some more later in the evening. I would definitely recommend their restaurant and taco cart for anyone who loves great Mexican food and needs food for a party.

Love the food but hate the lines, I dont understand why dont they have 2 cashier would make line go faster. Other than that I love their food

The review and long line drew me to come check it out. The food was ok. I had the torta and the bread was just ok. Nothing compare to the Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles.

This is my favorite Mexican spot in Oxnard. I’ve been going here for almost 4 years now and a I have to say is how great the prices are and that all that you order are worth their weight in gold. Authenticity is always important when getting food and this is as authentic as it gets. Reminder: CASH ONLY! Enjoy.

We hired Taqueria El Tapatio #2 to cater for our daughter’s wedding. We are so glad we did! They were very professional and showed up in a timely fashion. The food was excellent and plentiful. The servers had great attitudes and excellent work ethic. We had a lot of positive feedback from our guests. We would definitely use them again!

If you didn’t know what you were looking for, this place could easily be looked over by an untrained eye or someone who isn’t in the know. This place is a small Mexican take-​out located in the back of a tired looking convenient store. Don’t be intimidated by the post apocalyptic looking shopping center where the store is located. Truth is, this place offers amazing authentic Mexican food at low prices. The taste and quantity of the food simply can not be matched in the local area. Bold statement right? Check it out for yourself!

This guys make AWESOME tacos, wet burritos, shrimp cocktail. And many other things are great.

Very casual, not expensive and you see them making your tacos.

There’s a few taco trucks that have really good tacos around oxnard, but I only go to those when this place is closed.
Oh one more thing, this is a really authentic Taco restaurant, so if you’re expecting lettuce and tomatoes on your tacos you are in the wrong place. Taco Bell fairly close. Get out of here!!!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet… funny how I overlooked one of my all-​time favorite Mexican spots. Where to start…
You order at the register and they only have one. During rush times the line can be pretty long but it always moves quickly.
They serve fresh juices. My favorite are the carrot and orange juice and the cantaloupe.
The shrimp cocktail is the best hands down. It has a ton of shrimp and comes with two free tacos for $ 11.
Big Taco plate is another winner. Get a big taco, rice and beans for $ 3.50. Add to that their unlimited chips and salsa bar and you have a very tasty and filling meal for less than a cup of coffee.
They also have outdoor seating, which is always a nice option. The indoor tables only seat 4 comfortably so if you have a big group plan on sitting at separate tables or outside.
Biggest flaws… they only take cash, fish tacos are sub par and the bathrooms are not good. There is always a ton of tagging on the walls and the bathroom smells like some 99 cent store cleaning supplies. There good enough to wash your hands in but don’t plan on «going» there unless you can stand up.

I’ve had quite a few things on the menu here… burritos, tortas, super tacos, flour quesadillas, chile verde plate, you name it, it’s all good.
