Oxford Inn

On the way into town, we saw signs for $ 39.95 a night. When we asked the gentleman at the front counter about the price, he clarified that it was for the motel at the bottom of the hill. (How appropriate).
Went on to the place just down the hill. Even though they had barely any rooms occupied, the $ 39.95 certainly wasn’t available. Felt a little evasive, not to mention that the office smelled bad. Even while standing there, a customer asked for additional towels to which the man at the counter reminded him the room already had plenty of towels! Yikes!
But this review is about the Oxford.
We returned to the Oxford and the gentleman at THAT counter was very kind, friendly, very helpful, and actually seemed to value our business. Go figure.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Everything worked. Just remember to make sure you don’t get the room right under the stairs to the upper level. He offered a different room, but I wanted one so I could look out and see my motorcycle was OK. My fault on that one.
Will stay there every time I ride the Pig Trail (which by the way was beautiful).
Make sure you visit Post Winery and Rivertowne Bbq Inc, and skip Wiederkehr Wine Cellars Inc.
