I was highly dissapointed in the quality of their food and service. The ladies that served us were kind enough but I had an issue with their sanitary condition. Multiple times I watched as one blew her nose and then handled food without washing her hands as well they both liked their fingers to handle money and then handled food again with out washing their hands. The food which claimed to be homemade was quite poor and tasted like generic store bought. Further more, it becomes quite expensive because they dont have just any over all platters. You have to purchase each item for your meal separately.(For example: 2 pieces of bacon $ 3.50, short stack $ 5.50, eggs $ 4.00, and then when a beverage is added it adds up very quickly.) Bringing me to my next point that is is very over priced for what you purchased.

Rosie Jo’s is just good home cooked food. We eat here about twice each month and have never had a bad meal. Their fried chicken is my personal favorite but there’s a 30 minute wait because they cook it as its ordered, not cooked ahead. Another personal favorite is their coconut cream pie. It’s as close to my Mama’s as I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant.

If you love meals made from scratch with quality ingredients, this is the place! You won’t be disappointed, but remember to leave room for Vince’s pies… absolutely delish! Comfort food at its best! So lucky to have this little gem close to home.

Love this restaurant! They are now a staple in the ozark community and they have played a key part in the development of our community as well. They have supported our parks department over the years by sponsoring teams and bringing those teams together in a small town fashion. The menu is well priced, the deserts are homemade, the coffee is always fresh and the fried food will remind you of your mothers cooking. Overall a great company to support in our town as they have returned the favor for us.

Looked forward to trying this place, but it was just so-so. I had Ham and Beans which is pretty hard to mess up, and they were in some kind of tasteless slurry. The seats were uncomfortable, and there is so much bric-à-brac around, it just looks unclean instead of charming. I will give it a try again some time– I like to support local places.

I do not know how people love this place. The food is mediocre and the service was some of the worst I have ever had. The place was not busy at all, but we got our appetizers, salads and food all at the same time, and then were never checked on again. Hire new people.

I have lived in Ozark for a couple of years and kept meaning to try this place. Finally, I did. I don’t know why I waited so long! The food was excellent and the atmosphere was pure small town Americana! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the French toast was very tasty. Will certainly go back for breakfast and am looking forward to trying dinner.

Low rating due to really bad service. We keep trying because the food is generally good, but don’t expect to be in a hurry.

We absolutely love the fried chicken specials on Thursday. When my mother comes down from Kansas City, she always request that we go to Rosies for this Thursday special. The staff there is friendly and hometown charm. We have loved every dish that we’ve ever ordered at Rosies. If you’re looking for homemade goodness, then this is your ticket…

The food is delicious. If you ever get it. Been several times, service is consistently terrible. We will never go back.

Unfortunately my feeling about this place has changed. The owner likes to prance around in goofy hats, ok that’s his thing. But my friends are there last week with their employee. Said owner asked my friend to dance. She said no thank you. She is in need of a knee replacement. So goofy hat guy turned to my friends husband and asked him to dance(friend on oxygen, barely able to walk). He said no. They’d like to just eat their meal in peace. As they paid the ticket & we’re leaving, the owner leaned over and said, please never come back here again.” So sad, and what bad treatment of long time loyal customers!

This place has been an Ozark landmark forever! I LOVE this place. Its so conveinently located by tons of antique malls so you can totally make this a lunch date with girlfriends and shop afterwards without going too far. I love their pies and haven’t found anything on their menu I don’t love on some level. This place is awesome!

My family stopped at Rosie Jo’s for lunch a few weeks ago(on a recommendation from the folks that own Smallin Cave) while we were passing through on our way to OK for vacation. The food was AMAZING. Holy cow. Not a single thing that we got was less than mouthwateringly delicious! In addition, the staff was SO kind and sweet. Paying special attention to our toddler and making the experience really memorable and fun. Forget Lamberts, this local joint is the way to go!

Convinced by my mother in law to try this place out. Looks are deceiving– I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. But, the food is fantastic!!! We had the fried pickles to start with — delicious! 6 of us ate a variety of foods from the menu and we were all pleasantly surprised! All of it was fantastic! We also took some lemon meringue pie home. This is home cooking at it’s best! Service was good — the waitress kept on top of our drinks and prices are extremely reasonable! We will definitely come back next time we are in town!

I convinced my family to come here instead of Lambert’s based on the reviews here and it was a great call. Everyone left stuffed and happy with their meal. SERVICE: Above Average Our waiter did a great job bringing things as ordered and replacing drinks as needed. The meal seemed like it came a little slow, but some of our party ordered dinner meals while it was lunchtime which likely accounted for that. Overall the wait was not overly long. FOOD: Excellent I ordered a Reuben sandwich and it was easily one of the best I have had. My wife’s fried chicken sandwich was excellent and came with so many onion rings a second plate was needed for them. I don’t usually care for onion rings and I liked these. My in-laws both remarked how good their meals(meatloaf & liver + onions) were. I didn’t have room for pie, but everyone in the party had them pack some up to go. PRICING: Excellent Considering the area’s tourist business and the quality of the food the prices here were surprisingly very low. My son’s hot dog and fries was only $ 3. Our entire party of five’s meal was only about $ 50 and that is counting the pies we took home with us. FACILITIES: Above Average Everything was neat and clean. We did not have any wait to be seated and that was in the middle of the day. The decorations were interesting enough that my son was entertained simply playing a game with me looking for specific symbols or items around us. SUMMARY: Excellent It is probably a good thing this place isn’t local for me or my family would be regulars.

This place is pure Americana and as authentic as an 1860 silver dollar. As for the one bad review… well…If Joe T saw flies in here in January when it was 2 degrees it would be as unusual as a bad meal in this place, We come here to eat every year during the homeschool basketball tournament and we have always found the food, the service and the atmosphere to be a pleasure. The burgers are Beyond great! The desserts are scratch made and the rest of the menu is equally good. Hand cut fries. Hand battered onion rings, hot, crunchy and sweet! Don’t miss Rosie Jo’s!

We were on a long weekend road trip to a wedding and had exactly one lunch time free… so I turned to Unilocal. There are a few choices in the Ozark, Missouri area, including some well known and somewhat touristy selections that we were told about. We decided on this little local café called Rosie Jo’s. I think everyone was glad we did! From the outside, Rosie Jo’s is pretty unremarkable. It’s in a small strip mall, surrounded by one of the many antique malls that are plentiful in the Ozark area. We went in and were pleasantly surprised by the kitchy country(chicken-esque themed) décor and the general feel of the place. We love the fried pickles at the Texan Café back home, and when we saw they were on the menu here, the appetizer choice was unanimous. It was a great choice. The pickles came out hot, lightly battered, crispy and dill-iciously juicy all at the same time, and not overly greasy at all for being deep fried. I think the vote was unanimous that they beat the ones that had been our family favorites at the Texan, and that’s saying something! Entrée-wise, we decided to go all-in, and ordered a couple chicken fried chicken dinners(one with extra gravy) and a club sandwich with onion rings subbed in. Small town café bliss ensued. The club sandwich I ordered was impressive and yummy. The chicken fried chicken meals were good, and on par with what we consider a good small town café meal: lots of chicken, good mashed taters, not too greasy, etc. Basically some delicious comfort food. We shared a coconut cream pie slice for dessert — it disappeared too quickly for a photo! The other cool thing is that soft serve ice cream came as a part of the meals — and was good as well! The service was great — the young man who attended our table kept the drinks full, and made sure we had everything we needed. If we are ever in Ozark Missouri again, I’d definitely return to Rosie Jo’s! It’ was an awesome little gem of a café.
