As I’m walking my pup on a particularly frigid evening trying to will him to go potty quick so that I could return to the confines of my warm house I noticed some brightly colored«Grand Opening» signs. I was curious(curiosity kills right?) and I peeked inside and laid my eyes upon shelf after shelf of fermented beverages. Now, if you know me, you know that A) I’m totally OCD, things have to be organized and clean B) I thoroughly enjoy organic carbon compounds that bear a hydroxyl group at the end(otherwise known as alcohol). Finally, C) I love conversation and free samples! This place rubbed all the right spots, and I sometimes stand in the store chatting with the owner about new spirits to try, even though we both know I’m going to leave with my usual Jack Daniels :-/(I’m a petite, nerdy Latina chick who enjoys the kind of dark liquor that puts hair on a mans chest, what can I say?) First off, the place is clean. I mean very clean. My OCD barely twitches when I’m in here, as opposed to other places where I feel compelled to straighten the labels. Second, the selection is different than what is offered at the other local liquor stores. They have an array of things I would love to try. They are open particularly late, if you like manly strong drinks they have it, if you like girly lychee-plum-rose-hibiscus-Japanese cherry blossom in a field of citrus drinks they have those too. The man inside is freaking awesome, he gives great suggestions, knows what I like and gives me samples to try. My freaking goodness! Let me type that again… The man gave me samples of whiskey to try! I tear up reading that to myself, it’s a beautiful thing. He even threw in a nice JD glass to sip my Tennessee liquid gold out of. As if all of this wasn’t great, you can’t beat the prices and they carry top shelf liquors that people in the area don’t sell because«the demographics of the area aren’t into good quality alcohol»(straight from the mouth of the owner of another liquor store not far from here). So thank you Sir, my liver and I are pleased with your array of libations. :-)
