Fish! Fish! Fish! Or is it quiche? Whatever it is called, get it! Yes, everything else is still awesome porky goodness(they do sell veal, turkey and probably beef as well… I just love their pork). Back to the fish, I’ve never had anything like it, chunks of white, meaty fish and sauteed onion, in a creamy gravy, cooked casserole style… to look at, I wasn’t sure, but once I tasted it… yummo! They don’t always have prepared food… I was here on a Friday… So call ahead, if you are set on a particular dish… though settling for fresh ham or kielbasa is never a bad deal.

Great place. They sell excellent fresh kielbasa. The smoked ones are good too. They have a good selection of breads and salads. The people are extremely nice. Everything in the store looks to be good quality and fresh. The donuts are excellent.

O.k. So I am a super fan of this place. I just started working in this neighborhood and I am Croatian however have a big love for the Polish. :) Afterall Poland was the first country I have ever visited. The young girl behind the counter was very friendly and did not speak so much english but who cares I said I wanted a sandwhich and she asked is polish ham and cheese o.k. I said yes and just thet aste and the way it was made and the smell of the store bought me back to Croatia, they have Vegeta which is great croatian spice and its better for me that I dont have to go all the way to Astoria to but it. I also bought like a crème cake and it was grand! I would definetly come back here and recommend this place for lunch!!! Oh and cold cuts… :)

A gem of a place! You don’t have to be Polish to enjoy this great food! Very warm and friendly Polish lady owns and works this deli. I came in here once to give it a try and was happy I did. Cold cuts and breads are fresh and she makes a great sandwich! Just let her suggest any Polish variations that you might not be used to. For instance she suggested Polish cheese because she didn’t have American for me. Guess what?.. It tasted the same exact way as American so just go with what she suggests. Best of all the sandwiches are ridiculously cheap! $ 4 or less for a hearty cold cut deli sandwich on a delicious roll is worth stopping by. Also, she has a really large selection of different flavored Polish gravies(Knorr) mixes and noodles for making at home. She suggested some for me that I brought home to my family. Grilled up some chicken, boiled some vegetables, then the noodles, mixed it all together with her suggested gravy and Voila! King of the house! To that, Damian Polish American Deli Lady, I say,. Dziekuje(pronounced: Dzhehnkooyeh)!

This is a great deli and European specialty shop. As an American of Polish descent, I am a happy camper when I go to Damians. But you don’t have to be Polish to enjoy the food or the bakery items. The kielbasy, both smoked and fresh, are excellent. The chicken croquettes, stuffed cabbage, and pork frankfurters are terrific. Try the cheese babka, the mini punski(little donut balls filled with jam), and any of the cakes they have — wonderful! The cold cuts are traditionally Polish, which means they are super fresh and mostly pork or veal. Don’t miss the fresh butter in the refrigerator or many of the Polish soft cheese spreads(chive and mushroom). Also a good selection of Polish juices(I am addicted to the Black Cherry and the Black Current juice). Give Damian’s a whirl — yu won’t regret it.

This place is much more than a Deli and you don’t need to be Polish to love it. I work at the school across the street and a number of people choose this spot for lunch. Their deli meats are much tastier than any other deli — right down to their Bologna! Then there’s their delish bakery fresh breads — try the multigrain bread that has seeds of all kinds on top — it’s amazing! There’s also a cheesecake with fruit topping — to die for! My final sinful treat is a doughnut with coconut icing and vanilla pudding inside. It’s gigantic so be sure to share! Next there’s the Polish dishes — I’m working my way to trying them all but I’m a big fan of their breaded chicken! Last — it is so reasonably priced! The deli next door charges 30% more for sandwiches and drinks and their food isn’t anywhere near as fresh! The woman that owns the stores is extremely nice and so are her other employees. I never thought I’d review a deli, but like I said, this place is so much more!

I have been a customer of Damian Polish Deli for many years, and found the staff to be very pleasant, they have Polish delicasies that noone else has. Every Friday, the owner gets fresh stuffed cabbage, and Sunday, fresh cakes and pastries. I would definitely suggest Damian’s if you have a taste for Polish food.
