Stopped here while waiting for work to be done on my car a few blocks away. My buddy is VERY critical of where he eats and was nervous about going in because of how it looked outside. Boy, oh boy was he proven wrong. Peruvians know their chicken. He also went crazy for their salchipapa, since he said they do the same in Russia. We shared a whole chicken, salad, and I had some of the salchipapa. All for only $ 20 and a smile. Can’t beat that.

Excellent food. went there for lunch with coworkers. good to share the food because you get a lot. I have no idea what they put in that green sauce but if goes well with everything. We had the chicken combo with rice, beans, salad, platanos, tostones, chismole(onion salad for the meat) and french fries. I tried the passionfruit juice and a coworker had their version of sorrel. Good stuff all around.

The food is ok but it can be better the waitresses are rude and especially over the phone they do not know how to answer calls my advice don’t call for delivery or for the restaurant find better customer service to answer calls because they do not know how to talk to the customers if you don’t want to start loosing business I suggest you hire new people to answer your calls.

Ur better off eating mcdonalds for dinner. my food had so much grease it was all over my fries underneath everywhere ! just disgusting I tried to give it a shout and taste it omg wat was that for! just literally threw it in the garbage and made myself a sandwich for the night. would never order from here again! Stay away!

Gave it four stars because I love the food. But the staff needs to organize themselves a little more, specially if a costumer is calling to place an order. I called to place an order and was left on the phone waiting for almost 10 minutes… Ordered my food at la cabaña, also a good Peruvian restaurant.

I placed my order on grub hub at 330 and I received a confirmation with an expected time for 430. The reason I even ordered my food to be delivered was because I was sick and couldn’t go out to buy food. I finally get a phone call at 450-thinking they’re outside I answer and run to the door only to find out that they didn’t have anything I ordered. I didn’t even receive an apology or anything. Or even an alternative to what I had ordered. To top it off I was told I’d have to call grub hub to request a refund-which I later found out they could have done for me. I was on the phone for ten minutes until I was finally able to get in touch with someone. Horrible service. This use to be my favorite Peruvian restaurant. No more.

HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE! I admit I like their food, but the service is horrible. This is the third time that my order is over an hour and a half later. And every time I call to inquire about my order the so called management is uninterested and unapologetic. The lady«manager» just does not care. I don’t get how someone like that can be manager, I wasn’t even looking for anything other then to know whether my order was leaving soon. But she felt the need to be rude. Ordered a WHOLECHICKEN and they were mad stingy with the condiments. Not very comfortable with the service, all I did was order takeout … I could only imagine how uncomfortable I would feel if I had ate in …

I took my daughter here because we have lived in the neighborhood a year now and pass it every day but being Hispanic we generally don’t «eat out» Spanish but she was jonesing for some beans. First off, don’t let the interior fool you. What this small restaurant lacks in table settings, they make up for in food! This is not your tapas style servings! This is homegrown, family style they-are-gonna-feed-Ya-til-you roll-out type eating!!! Ordered a plate with Calamari and Yuca and fried fish that was divine! We couldn’t finish all the yuca and fish but I sure gave it a go! So then my daughter orders a steak platter with beans rice, plantains ANEGG(yum) It was enough to feed us both! So our dinner adventure turned into two full fledged meals with our takeaway doggy bag. They also have a nice display case full of sweets. Classic flan and Tiramisu… I couldn’t resist the Tiramisu!!! Yummm So if you are headed here for dinner or otherwise, make sure you bring your appetite!!!(Or a friend with a hollow leg!)

Do not come to this place, they took over an hour to serve us food. No apologies and not even a courtesy desert/drink on the house for such a long wait, which was not even worth, food was plain and tasteless. No vengan a este sitio. Se domaran, se demoran, se demoran. Imposible mas de una hora por un simple lomo saltado. La duena ni se molesto en pedir disculpas ni ofrecer alguna cortesia por la demora.

This is a great new addition to Ozone Park! Great stick-to-the– ribs food! I just live the Jalea dish for 2. It is a huge platter like dish of fried sea food with red onions marinated in lemon juice. Must have the Tres leches cake for desert! Not sweet just right! Staff Is very pleasant. Outdoor dinning room. Prices are affordable. Family place and great food !

Service was great and so was the food. It’s my second time here and food has been good and the sangria is good as well. Could be a little stronger but it’s still good. I came with my son(9 months) & they were extremely accommodating and brought his high chair without me having to ask. Their sauce isn’t the usual«green sauce» that you’re used to in a Peruvian restaurant, but it’s really tasty! U won’t miss the green one lol. The flan is a must!!! Did not expect it to be this good but I don’t recall having a better tasting one!

Only giving two stars because the staff is friendly… however the food was not of my liking. To start they told me I couldn’t add shrimp to my meal. I ordered arroz chaufa and the chicken looked funny. And to no surprise the chicken did not taste good. I couldn’t finish my meal and I had to leave it. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

Quick service, great food & inexpensive! My partner and I were super hungry on a Saturday afternoon and decided to check out this local joint only to find this Jem on Rockaway. Pros: service was great and quick we ordered and within 6 minutes we were already enjoying lunch. Fresh chicken, rice and beans. Portions are so big my partner and I shared a meal and still had food left over. Best part of it all the price our meal was 10.95 now that’s a bargain.

One of my favorite restaurants family owned, small and cozy. the service comes from a warm and friendly staff. My favorite waitress in particular is Erica; she is so sweet and she always makes wise suggestions for costumers. the jalea; which is a fried seafood platter is to die for. it consist of shrimp, calamari and fish as well as yuca fritas which are fried pieces of cassava. the chicken is pretty good; its well seasoned and it pairs well with the chaufa which is peruvian fried rice. 5 stars for don pollo!!!
