I’ve had many massages from Christian over about 10 years. As a woman, I generally feel most relaxed with a female masseuse, but Christian is an exception – He is sensitive to my needs and I feel utterly safe with him. He is also a fantastic bodyworker. He really understands the human body, and gives a deeply therapeutic massage. Even though it is deep work, I don’t feel ‘beat up’ afterwards as I sometimes can with others. I feel opened up, relaxed AND energized – a perfect balance.

I recently received a facial from premier esthetician Jennifer DeMoss, it was hands down the best facial I’ve ever had.
Her nimble fingers and ultrasonic tools worked in perfect harmony to scrub away every impurity in my skin.
I am a man with a healthy amount of beard face; and the facial left my skin glowing, every bristle was cleaned to perfection!

Long story short, 90 minute massage was worth it’s weight in gold. I was tight and in need of some new year relaxation. Cindy* has magic hands!
Jennifer was super helpful and attentive to my online inquiry and got my wife and I booked in for times that worked for us.

I love this place and I love Jennifer!!! I have been coming to Jennifer since last year and she is the ONLY person that I can ever trust with my skin!!! Plus she is the sweetest person I have ever met. I am always excited to see her and feel my skin getting better. She is also very transparent so will never force you or make you feel uncomfortable to buy stuff. I have visited tons of facial spas before but honestly no one can beat her up!!! Seriously!!! I moved to LA now so every time I visit Monterey I definitely see her. Wanna even take her to LA! Go see her before I take her guys! Trust me. She will take a good care of you!!!

For location: If you are a first timer, you might have a very little trouble finding this place for it is located on the very bottom of the building. But no worries! There are signs saying «Amara by the Sea» with the white background and you can easily find it! Once you enter Amara by the Sea, though they are still decorating the interior, you will find it very comfy with soothing music and chairs and sofa.
For massage: I have been receiving massage service from Christian for many years and from other places since I am an avid athlete. I would say Christian & Amara by the Sea is the BEST in terms of finding my muscle pains and discomfort and fix them; I have had a muscle pain and cramp on the upper left shoulder and on my left ankle which medical doctors and physical therapists were never able to find out a proper way to cure even after scanning my body with MRI, BUT I will tell you that continuous massages really got rid of my shoulder pain and relieved the burden of pain on the ankle. Christian will be able to take care of your muscle pain, discomfort, etc!
For facials: I took my wife to Jennifer for many years. According to my wife, Jennifer is the best massage therapist and aestheticist in Monterey. I tell you that my wife is very cautious in terms of choosing a massage and aesthetic place due to her sensitive skin and her strict preference. After getting couple facials within two months, she felt that her skin returned to youthful skin of her 20s! Jennifer provided very friendly, kind and professional service. My niece with a lot of acne received facials after being referred by my wife and now she is really happy with her face and does not feel shy/​embarrassed in front of the public due to her acne problems; I am not saying her acne disappeared completely but it has got so much better that people can tell the difference! I highly recommend Jennifer for facials and other services!

So seven years ago, I had a curve in my spine. It wasn’t one that caused me very many problems, except one. I had a lot of pain, the kinda of pain that kept you from hugging people because if they did more the barely rest their hands on my back I’d be gritting my teeth from the pain. My mom started getting massages from Christian, and of course started trying to get the whole family to start. I only agreed after my dad had a massage and sang the praises of it. Best decision of my young life! After the first massage I wasn’t sure if I’d keep going back. After the third massage people could hug me without causing me pain! That’s when I knew, I had to keep getting massages. After years of chiropractors and still not feeling better, something this good was definitely becoming part of my life!
2 years after I started seeing Christian, my family all were measuring our heights one night, I was astonished to learn I’d grown an inch (being 5’2 your whole life makes you notice an inch!) as I stared at the measurement of 5’3 my mom looked at my back. The curve was gone! No more pain and no more curve! I can’t even express how grateful I am!
So cut to now, 7 years later. I still see Christian often (because come on guys it’s a massage! Massages are awesome!) recently my mother and I got to get a massage in his new office. Everything makes you feel welcome. The waiting area has big comfy chairs and the rooms welcome you to lay down and relax as you get an amazing massage. During the massage he put these super neat hot towels on your face and feet. I could feel my face relax. My skin soaking up the warmth. I haven’t gotten a facial yet, but my mom and I agree, that’s next on the list.

I have had several treatments (both facials and waxing) done by Jennifer, and she is the absolute best! Jennifer is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and has a gentle touch that will leave you glowing and wanting to come back.
Christian’s massages are fantastic, with that perfect balance of relaxation and healing for desk jockeys, athletes and anyone in-​between.
The office is beautiful and clean, and they only use the best lines of products with their services. You are definitely getting five-​star resort treatment with that personal touch, and for a much more reasonable price. This is exactly what Pacific Grove needed!
