Bountiful Bakery

Unprofessional is the only word I can use to describe the owner and her approach to business. Her products are great, but I will not be ordering from her again. She had a physical store, in Montrose, that recently closed. She now emails her customers to promote different events. Be careful, if you do decide to order.
A recent email blast was a Chicken Pie Extravaganza. I ordered four pies and asked for a cake, that I meant to take to a gather. She emailed saying she would deliver everything in the morning. That was fine as my event was that night. I then got an email telling me she would bring everything by five. That was fine, as my event wasn’t until six. I then got an email telling me she delivered the pies, but «Thanks for understanding I will need to deliver your cake tomorrow morning. «
I had to go to my gathering with a last minute dessert, not a disaster, but it was Denise’s attitude that I couldn’t understand. There was one excuse after another, with no apology until I wrote her and asked for a refund.
I got an email saying she was in the air going to New York and that she would try to credit my account then, or when she landed. I emailed her again, and I was told she didn’t know how to refund things, but she would drop off cash over the weekend. I declined, and asked to be off her list.

A friend told me about Denise over a year ago, but I didn’t actually get to taste any of the wonderful treats until Bountiful Bakery opened in Montrose. I stopped in at least once a week for the sea salt chocolate chip cookies and chicken pot pie. My entire family is addicted!
After the storefront closed, I found Denise at the farmer’s market in la canada. Since then we order directly from Denise, and she delivers it to my doorstep. My 13 year old son wants me to order on a daily basis! A must try is the blackout cake with Oreo filling. It is truly unbelievable.

I read about Bountiful Bakery sometime last year. I finally went in on Saturday the 14^th of March. Let me tell you, it was the best choice I made. The owner (Denise Assad) was so friendly and welcoming. She gave us samples of everything she had on display. Those lemon, pecan, & chocolate peanut butter bars are amazing!!! We went in again on March 21^st and tried the salted chocolate chip cookies and sticky buns and the sour cherry and blueberry turnovers, & chicken/​andouille gumbo! Bountiful Bakery did not disappoint! Next up the chocolate babka and savory dishes! If you haven’t been to the Pacific Palisades or La Canada Farmers Market you are totally missing out!!! Can’t wait for your new storefront cause we will be there for sure! Kudos Denise!!! See ya soon!!!

First off let me start by saying Denise is my girl!!! I work at local business and Denise takes care of us. From her beyond amazing baked goods, to her great coffee this place is an A++++++++.
Do yourself a favor and don’t leave that place without trying her chocolate babka, and Macarons. I promise you, you will end up coming back daily. And if you’re a coffee snob like me, you’ll be happy to know she serves Stumptown Coffee.
