Hoffman Fine Wine & Spirits

We’re here for the weekend staying in a nearby hotel for a romantic stay by the ocean, but you know what happened? We ran out of alcoholic beverages in the room! Well, we didn’t want to go have to get in the car and drive to some supermarket, so I Unilocaled and found this place just a block away! OK, so we get our shoes on and wander on down to the store. It was easy to find. The store is quite small but carries all sort of hard to find and odd ball stuff, like Bulgarian wines and stuff from Moldavia. Most of the stuff here is not all that cheap, but as a specialty shop right by the ocean, what do you expect. So, no there won’t be and 2 liter big soda bottles or very many mainstream beers. But hey do have a lot of odd ball beers that might be good. All I wanted was a bottle of wine that wasn’t gonna be $ 20. I did find a red for around $ 11, cause this wasn’t for a fine dining wine paring, just some wine in a hotel room. This is an OK place when you need something right here though.

After looking high and low all over Daly city and San Francisco and parts of Pacifica I found the bottle of wine I was looking for. The owner hand picks her whole collection and was very friendly and nice ! Don’t be put off by the size of the store. I am visiting out if town and this is definately my new hot spot for wine! Another plus it’s 5 min from my family’s house! Highly recommended!

Good selection, but the counter person is not very friendly, which is odd because they are very helpful.

Picked up a stellar 100% cab here on the owner’s recommendation. Loved it. I’ll be back for more when I’m in the area. Very nice owner! (so totally unlike the snarky pants who owns the wine bar…ugh!)

I’m a local and I prefer to spend my money in my home town. This is an adorable shop and the owner is a kind woman always willing to help me select a good wine for the food I am making. Love her Halloween selections– they are fun! next up is Thanksgiving and I can’t wait to see what she suggests.

My family has had an office here in Rockaway for quite some time and I have been going into Hoffman’s since i was a little kid. They have a great selection of sodas and candy and small snack foods. There is also a great selection of beer both local brews which Alice the owner loves to stock as well as some imported ones that are harder to find. Im not a huge wine fan but my wife and friends are and any time I go in Alice gives me a recommendation and everyone loves it. She also has a good amount of liquor.
Best part about all of this is the prices are very reasonable and you are supporting a local business that has been here in Pacifica or almost 16 years.
I highly recommend checking them out.

Very cute little shop. We wandered in here last weekend while waiting for the wine bar to open up (yeah that sounds bad, I know). My husband found some English beers that he doesn’t see too often elsewhere. I really didn’t recognize many of the wines they had in stock, but I did pick up a Bulgarian Riesling for $ 10. I know, it’s probably horrible, but how could I pass it up? It’s from Bulgaria, which is weird enough… but it was cheap and the bottle was pretty so no hair off my ass if it sucks.
They have a well-​rounded selection of liqueurs and spirits too — lots of stuff I’ve never heard of before — and random novelty items as well. The shopkeeper was super friendly and very helpful. I’m sure we’ll return again soon.

This place has Marilyn Monroe and Norma Jean wines for a reasonable price! On top of that the owner is super sweet and is knowledgeable. Will come here again for sure

Sweet, helpful, outgoing, and FULL of different wines. My favorite wine? Yeah, they had it. It’s from a tiny vineyard in Amador! Awesome!!!

Alice the owner is always there to help find the perfect wine for what ever the occasion. Her wines come from all over the world and she is able to discuss every wine she sells be it local or international. In addition she has a great selection of beer and liquors as well as snacks and cold drinks .

Yes indeed, go ask Alice for a good bottle of wine or spirits and she will direct you to them. I enjoy stopping in to say hello and get a new bottle of wine to pair with dinner. Alice always has something new in the shop and she has excellent knowledge of her products.
