Patrick is friendly, professional and great to work with. My husband and I needed to upgrade our stairway handrail and balusters (built in 1978). We reached out to Patrick because of his great Unilocal reviews and glad we did. We are not good at interior design and can never seem to make up our mind on what we want. Realizing there are so many options out there, we really needed help honing in on the specifics. Patrick came by to give us an estimate and also gave us some ideas on what would work with the overall theme of our home and what was practical for our family. He was extremely patient and thorough.
During construction, he was always on time, delivered within the means of his contract and upon completion — exceeded our expectation.

Pat is fantastic, we could not be happier with the work he did for us. We had a small project, replacing carpet with hardwood flooring as well as retreading a flight of stairs with hardwood, adding trim pieces and finishing, and replacing all of the baseboards. He also installed a closet door and framing. The hardwood flooring was a little tricky because we had already existing tile that he needed to work around, matching the grout color, etc — it turned out perfectly, completely seamless, like it was built that way. Pat also does beautiful custom work, which we will be hiring him to do for us. He has great ideas, is always very patient with our many questions, shows up when he says he’ll show up, and always cleans up too! We highly recommend Pat at Nest Building.

If you are looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, honest and punctual contractor, Patrick with Nest Building is the person to call. My husband and I have finally decided once again to do something with our backyard. What? I’m not sure. I started with the idea of removing our current awning which is an eyesore and having a pergola built in its place. I mentioned earlier that we «once again decided» because we have contacted contractors in the past only to encounter no-​shows contractors or people with over-​the-​top bids for things we didn’t want. After several bad experiences, we decided to table the idea for a few months. We are now ready to get back to our project and began our search on Unilocal for a contractor in our area. I stumbled across a few names and made a few calls leaving messages. Only one person picked up… yes, it was Patrick. (BTW the three other contractors have yet to call me back) Not only did he pick up but also made arrangements to come out to our house that same evening. He gave a time of 6:30PM, and there he was ringing our doorbell precisely at 6:30PM. This put us at a good start. When Patrick started looking at the potential project, my husband and I asked a lot of questions and enlisted his feedback and suggestions on not just the pergola project but a few other potential projects as well. Patrick had great ideas and suggestions for all of them. On things outside of his bailiwick, (ie landscaping projects), he offered some names of other folks who might be able to help. He was honest, knowledgeable and candid with his feedback. I think this is the beginning of a good professional relationship.

This is the bay areas hidden gem, Patrick came to our rescue when we only had a month to move from one space to another, he was completely flexable and worked until the job was done, Patrick made the most amazing screens to help make our salon professional and tidy looking .his craftsmen ship is amazing as well as his great eye for detail. we really appreciate the fact that he is super tidy and never leaves a mess which can be a problem with other contractors

In doing a small remodel/​changes to a new home, Patrick had some really cool, unique ideas for design and functionality that I hadn’t thought of myself, e.g. in making a laundry room on ground level in a room with no natural light, Patrick suggested a lightwell… thinking outside the box, i like.
Our place is in outer sunset in sf and kitchens have «old school» ironing board cupboards… he helped us transform the cabinet into a sleek, functional spice rack which turned out really nice! Also, he took a big, bare cabinet and created dividers for serving trays, etc. which turned out awesome.
Patrick is down to earth, friendly, and very professional. He skills as builder/​contractor are tip top. I hope to have the opportunity to work with him again!
