This review is for the Art Co-op that the Pacifica Mother’s Club holds on certain Fridays from 10−12PM during the school year. It’s off during the summers. It’s a really reasonable price($ 5 for PMC members, $ 6 for non-PMCs, $ 25⁄6 sessions) and they usually have a theme for the day as well as sensory activities your kiddo can do including homemade play doh and sand buckets. They also offer all of the supplies so that you don’t have to be bringing any materials. Overall, it’s a great activity for the 12 month — 5 year crowd. Just keep in mind it can be crowded, the restrooms can get nasty since kids are splashing paint-laden hands and muck in there. Also, bring a change of clothes! Make sure your kiddo isn’t in clothes you LOVE and make sure YOU aren’t in clothes you love, cause you never know when a kid with paint on his/her hands will be running around with reckless abandon(i.e most likely YOURS :) It’s a great activity to tote your kiddo to if you are looking for some socialization, sensory activities and fun art activities to do.

Had been curious about what this art center looked like, and it’s about 2 miles east of the Coast Highway(a.k.a. Highway 1). It’s pretty small but has quite a bit of interesting art along with those that are okay. From the outside, it might be a bit difficult to locate in this complex, which reminds me more of an elementary school(in fact, I really think it used to be one). It’s open limited hours, primarily on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1 – 5PM.

3.5 stars. I love the community vibe here — any show I’ve attended here has been packed with locals supporting the artists(whether they were visiting, or fellow locals). The art exhibits can range in quality; some are excellent, and some are«OK.» I do appreciate that they offer a place for artists to show and share their work. Mildred Owen Concert Hall offers an intimate setting where you can hear talented musicians playing a wide variety of music, from classical to Celtic. The sound is pretty decent. You can also see more local art in the hall as well. All this said, I do NOT, however, love the parking — the lot is hard to navigate and fills up quickly. Congrats to those in charge for running a valuable venue that the Pacifica community can rally behind.

Had my grandson go to the spring break class. The class was overly subscribed. The center seemed more motivated on making money then offering a good class. the teacher/student ratio was poor. Some after school programs were a better experience.

I lived in Pacifica for over two years but hadn’t really explored what the city holds so I went to the city page and looked up parks and things to visit. This was one of the places on the list so during a Mother/Daughter day decided to go exploring. I’ve driven past this numerous times but always thought it was an elementary school, so never really minded it much. The whole school was obviously turned into an art haven. We, of course, viewed the displayed art, but also realized that in one of the buildings there’s actual rooms that ppl use to wrk on their art. Rather it be visual or otherwise. Very interesting!

Born as a labor of love 11 years ago, this former elementary school in the heart of the San Pedro Valley has been transformed by scores of volunteers into a thriving cultural center for our little town. The Sanchez Art Center features galleries, artist’s studios, a performance space, classes for all ages, and is home to Pacifica Performances and the Art Guild of Pacifica, as well as renowned digital photographer Stephen Johnson. Recently renamed«Pacifica Center for the Arts» this popular destination is easily spotted by the large, colorful mural that fills the the street-facing wall of the Sanchez Concert Hall.
