I was driving the camper through southern Iowa looking for a small town meat locker. They usually offer great deals on high quality meats. What a lucky find! Who can resist a good sized sirloin steak(with just a bit of fat around the edge)? I watched the butcher pull a large chunk of meat from the cooler and cut it as requested. It makes the mouth water. In addition, I bought some ground chuck and a ham end. To top it all off, the smokey barbecue sauce(sold under their own label) looked pretty darn good and turned out to be a new favorite. The next morning I grilled up the steak over charcoals — the breakfast of champions. The sirloin was tasty and tender. It was much better quality than any of the grocery store stuff(particularly Wally World, the Red Bulls-eye store, SkyHigh V, etc.) This is the real deal — not the water injected type stuff that the big stores are going to. The price is also very reasonable. I have not yet tried the ground chuck but I am sure it is also very good quality. The ham end is really tasty — the cats and I are sharing it and all agree that with the smoked flavor, it’s addicting. The food here is very good. It was worth a stop and certainly a place I feel confident recommending. Enjoy!
