Well, when it comes to Pizza in Pahoa, these guys are one of your two choices. Can’t say they’re bad, but can’t say they’re great either. If you’re stuck in Puna and want Pizza, you’re just gonna have to settle or make your own. Nice people though.

They say good things come to those who wait, but in this case, you wait, and you wait, and you wait, and the the pizza is just okay. Seriously, how can making a pizza take so long? Once, I ordered some hot wings, and it took eighty-one minutes for me to get them. They were pretty good, but I was so hungry by that point, I almost ate the bones. The staff just doesn’t seem concerned with customer service and promises things they can’t deliver just to appease you. The food is also on the pricey side considering it’s just your average local pizza.

Like Pahoa, this place was weird, chaotic, and pretty slow. The pizza was divine, the best on the big island, in my opinion. It was made with a thick crunchy crust, local tomatoes, and hippie Puna good vibes. The pizza made me want to move to Pahoa to become a zen pizza apprentice. I would live in a VW bus, wear tie dye T shirts, the grow a beard all for the love of pizza. But unfortunately, I have a silicon valley mortgage…

They get your order wrong half the time. The wait is always longer than expected, and much longer than they tell you. Expect to be frustrated and aggravated. You’ll need a lot of patience if you want to eat here… lol The pizza is good, but skimpy on the toppings. Order a pizza with extra pepperoni 5x and you get what looks like a standard pepperoni pizza. No good deals on pizza here, kinda pricey in my opinion. But cheaper than New York Pizza a few doors down. Cool casual place to eat and people watch, especially from their sidewalk tables. No air-conditioning. No wait staff.

After driving around in the lower Puna area of Hawaii, we stopped at Boogie Woogie Pizza for a late lunch. We had a Hi 5 pizza(pepperoni, Italian sausage, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms), and medium salad. Everything was good.

Decent pizza and friendly service. Bring a 6 pack from the gas station down the road and have some pizza. We had a half and half pizza, with some complicated topping concoctions, and they got it all right! Good deal, acceptable pizza, funny man behind the counter… made better with garlic butter refills and byob.

I went to Boogie Woogie Pizza on January 23, 2016 and ordered a meat lovers large pizza. I give them credit for putting a lot of toppings on it for the price they charged but to find a hair from the woman putting the pizzas inside the oven pissed me off. On one slice of my pizza her hair was so visible so I confronted asking about it and the manager and the woman stared at it for literally 8 minutes trying to figure out if it was a hair. I took the pizza because I paid for it before getting told by my fiancée what is on the food. I decided to keep the pizza since I’ve been waiting for 30 minutes after the fact of how long it was supposed to of been done by. I got no apology or discount. I’d advise everyone to check every slice of pizza from this place because if it happened to me I’m sure I won’t be the last.

My wife and I loved this place. Great pizza. Better to get the deluxe pizza as the cost you pay for each topping is much better than creating your custom pizza.

Normally love it, but not this time! I ordered one pizza and one cappuccino smoothie. The smoothie was very watered down & The underneath of the pizza was over done and had a very burnt taste to it, while the crust was still doughy. I was told it would be done in 35 minutes when I called at 5:26pm, I got there at 6:16pm and waited another 30 minutes for my pizza. I got home and found the pizza to be burnt so I called, I was on hold for over 11 minutes when I decided to hang up and call back… I was then told that it is only slightly overdone and that it’s fine. After trying to get a word in for over 20 minutes, she finally said I could come back and exchange the pizza for another one(which I would have to wait for again). I explained that I have children and am unwilling to load them back up in the car at 7:30pm and make them wait even later for dinner. I highly recommend that you go ANYWHERE else for pizza.

Great Pizza. I eat here all the time. Only one thing., The sauce and toppings have a 3 inch space to the an small area at times so it is just a hunk of bread it that point. But the Pizza is so good. Try it, You’ll like it !!! 5 toppings at $ 18.95 is a excellent price too. I also get the spaghetti and meatballs or veggie meal that comes with salad and garlic bread for $ 7.99. excellent too. .My next visit going to be the Greek Salad. That looks awesome!!! You can’t go wrong eating here. I love it. There is a big menu with other foods also. Thank You to the Armenian owners who are so nice and good cooks.

Food was fine, and price was good. We ordered two pizzas and they forgot to make one of them. After waiting 35 mins for the first one, we had to wait another 20 for the second. The owner came over to check on the first pizza to see of the cheddar was added correctly, she said it want and was floating in grease and just walked away without offering to remake it. Luckily, it wasn’t as bad as she said, but we wouldn’t go back.

* Price: very reasonable. $ 3−4/ big slide. 4 plus star. * Ambiance: not much but it is a pizza joint in a very remote area. 3 star. * Location: main road through Pahoa. If you are visiting this part of big island, there are not many places to eat… so glad there is a decent pizza place. Street parking. 3 star. * Meals: thin crust, freshly made! Variety od toppings! 4 plus star! * Service: pretty fast. Especially if you don’t want to hang out in this area! 4 star. It is averaged to 4 star. Well, it is pizza place… that’s probably why it does not get 5 star! We are glad to have this place around. The pizza is freshly made, thin crust, crunchy, fresh toppings! It even taste s good the next day! Two thumbs up!

Great thinner style crust pizza, super thick tomato-y sauce, generous toppings, huge calzones, bbq chicken salad easily enough for two, above all these people work hard to make you happy and are HONEST! Went back around closing to retrieve my bag and all contents were accounted for, Mahalo guys!

Another Boogie Woogie fail. I swore I’d stop giving this company my money after they charged me for toppings they didn’t put on(delivery)…but I wanted to give them a second chance. Stupid idea, apparently: I ordered an Armenian/Mediterranean, which includes artichokes, tomatoes, garlic, and black olives. I asked for 2 extra toppings: bacon and broccoli(which I did get — probably because I paid 2 dollars for the honor). Now, my basic Med. pizza: didn’t get artichokes. Didn’t get olives. If by tomatoes, they meant tomato paste/sauce…shoots, we received that(and some misinformation). Garlic… haven’t seen/smelled/tasted a trace of it. Honestly, I was a couple beers in when I ordered, and I knew this place had screwed me on toppings(I’m not even going into svc) before. **I was errant in giving them my business again.** 2⁄10. They *do* produce pizza; it’s not the worst. They *will* rip you off for toppings they won’t provide. Service. .eh, I’ll let someone else go there.

The pizza is dense and I liked the sauce, which tasted very tomatoey. The crust is also superbly thick and fluffy at the same time. They have garlic butter for 50 cents. It’s not gonna be the best pizza you’ll ever eat but if you’re hungry and are craving something savory for just $ 2.50, it’s worth a visit. It’s unpretentious food in a semi-run-down joint but I think that adds to the charm. The people didn’t strike me as personable, but it’s the food that matters.

This place is better than the 3.5 stars I’m seeing. As a Portland-er with overly high food standards, who has sampled the best from San Fran to New York, this pizza was pretty dang good. I’m hesitant about saving my 5 star ratings for only the best of the best, but given the location and the quality that full 5-star rating looked pretty tempting. It’s not fancy, gourmet pizza. It’s not the kind of pizza with that perfectly thin crust and daily farm fresh ingredients. It’s not going to pop up in a nation’s top 10 pizza joints. But when I walked into this small pizza place in a small town on a tropical island in the middle of the ocean, I was not expecting to have such a good experience. Great thick crust, extremely flavorful pizza, good balance of ingredients, and very friendly staff on the night I came. They hooked our table up with an endless supply of garlic butter and witty service, and the lady behind the counter was a delight. There’s only so much you can say about pizza, but if you’re looking for a good pie in Hilo my experience was excellent. And I am PICKY.
