Great tour. Well worth the money. My wife and I live in Hawaii and don’t get out to do this kind of thing as much as we would like. But when my folks came for a visit they definitely wanted to see some lava. Knowing that there is not a safe way to get near the lava on our own, our options were boat or helicopter. We opted for boat because we were interested in a longer, more informative experience. Plus it’s always a treat to get out on the ocean and see the island, the sea, and the sunrise from a different perspective. Although flying has it’s pros I’m glad we went for the boat. It was an experience of a lifetime that I would recommend to anyone, especially those looking for knowledgeable, conscientious guides. George and Kyle are friendly and just a wealth of information about the island, local culture, the ocean and the sea life below. We even got to trawl for fish while we were at it! My parents still talk about it as the highlight of their visit. They learned things they were interested in regarding the natural environment and they also got lots of tips and suggestions about what else to do during their visit. George and Kyle turned us on to things on the Big Island that even we didn’t know about!
