I first phoned the Pawn Shop and asked the individual working if they would be able to give a loan on a limited edition Gucci Leather Purse. The man told me they could definitely help me but they would need to verify the authenticity of the hand bag, and that they closed at 7 so I would need to be there by 6:30 p.m. i n order to complete the process by closing time. I decided I would wait until the next day. the next day came and I made my way to the shop VIA Taxi cab at a rate of $ 15.20, of course I cannot expect someone in the service industry to work without a tip, and even though I was in a bind, I was feeling optimistic about the money I would receive for the handbag. So I tipped the driver $ 4.80, this will become relevant momentarily. After exiting the cab, which I am glad I did not have wait for me, I entered the pawn shop and was greeted by a staff member, he was around 6’2 about 240lbs, not sure of his name but he has dark hair and keeps a low cut, he asked if I was the one that had called yesterday, I told him I was, and we continued to display the purse for inspection. When I removed it from the dust bag where it had spent the last month or so, it needed conditioning, I was aware of that, I had even brought Michael Kors, Leather cleaner and conditioner with me in case that was a problem, as most buyers of designer leather bags or quality leather interiors know, a good conditioning will make the bag look brand new, Thats a fact. As well with the dry weather in Nevada a leather surface or product will require more conditioning than a bag in a more humid area at a lower altitude, More importantly the bag was just faded a bit on the corners, not cracked. Conditioning it would have brought it right back to life. The man stated it looked worn, I was sure of that it is a used leather purse, that was in need of a conditioning I understood that, I also understood I was going to be asking for less than one sixth of its value as I was only needing 300 dollars to make it until payday. Most of the reason I had not bothered to condition it, as well I did not wish to arrive with a wet bag that had been freshly conditioned, there would be no point, I did not want to sell it I wanted a loan, It was going to sit in the back in the dust bag until I came back for it. The man asked me what I needed for the bag, or what I was, «Looking to get,» I stated I needed 300 dollars. He said he would need to have it looked at by an employee who was more familiar with high end bags. at this point I felt better, someone familiar with high end bags would surely see this limited edition for what it was worth, the cloth version of this bag has a retail of 1,800 and thats the low price. The inside of this bag has the multicolor interior and the burgundy finish is absolutely rare in bags of this print. The woman who approached the counter, I will withold her name at this point, began examining the bag, then attempted to school I and my fiancé on how the pawn process worked. Telling me they rarely sold High end Handbags at the store and that they would not be able to get me anywhere near the 300 I was asking for. I was beginning to feel uneasy, so I was sure I would be able to get at least 150 – 200 considering used the bag after it was conditioned could fetch a fair price. I inquired abou the amount I would be looking at, Enter JOHN worst manager ever. He had a look on his face similar to one someone may make that was smelling cat piss. He typed something on the computer next to the female employee, and tilted the screen towards her and as if we were not standing right there said and I quote, «That’s the most I would give them right there.» The female replied, «Thats what I was thinking.» I prepared myself to be railroaded like we were on our jewelry, one of the rings had a resale value not retail of 3,000 dollars, don’t believe me ask Devon Draper of premier pawn he has a Unilocal on here to where he took me to small claims court over that ring that was part of a trade for a Victory Cruiser with 1,000 miles on it. He lost. Anyhow, at this point I was feeling patronized by the individuals running this store, I verbalized that feeling by telling them i was unaware they would be raping me or I would not have taken a cab there, due to the fact the cab would leave me 10 – 15 dollars if I were to return home by taxi. I told the girl I had no choice but to take it and she began the process, but not without stopping several times to tell us we were welcome to take it to vegas,(now was that even necessary? You know we came in a cab, so I offered my gucci titanium sunglasses to close the gap a little. She glanced at them and said they didnt sell many of them and that they were scratched anyways,(doubtful, Ill post a pic) {ILLBEADDING A LINK to the blog ill need to continue this story, Ive hit the 5001 limit…
