Quail Hollow Resort

6÷17÷2016 — 6÷18÷2016. Came in the lobby and it was bustling. There was a wedding reception going on, people were enjoying themselves in the lounge/​bar area. Lots of voices in the restaurant upstairs. They had a trainee working the front desk, but she was very experienced (maybe they are stingy with promotions and raises). Room quality was good and I think it helped that we were given the furthest one from the hustle and bustle in the main lobby. Building C is the one I stayed in, and everything was clean when we walked in. Functional bathroom. 110 $ for one king size is definitely pricey, but I’ll just hit up that 24 hr fitness center and spa. Minor issue but the TV remote didn’t work correctly. So no, not everything is perfect but it’s a good place to sleep and I hear there is even a golf course so for a weekend resort I think this place deserves at least 4 stars.

Our toilet was clogged upon check in and we called to get it fixed. 3 hours later nothing was fixed and after we called down to the front desk again they brought us up a plunger and handed it to us. And I said ok so I’m supposed to plunge this by myself and she replied with «yeah I have 13 more check ins downstairs». At 2am. Ridiculous and appalling.

We stayed here 12÷26÷15 as a last minute overnight getaway. After reading some reviews, I was a little apprehensive after we booked a room. Gladly, we absolutely enjoyed our short stay here. The rate we got for a king room was well worth the price we paid, with the service we received. The staff was wonderful, Denise was very helpful in accommodating us with a last minute bottle of champagne just after the lounge closed. The only complaint I would have is that there were kids running around, and being loud, we could hear while in our room with the door closed. Hopefully that was a one time thing as we booked a room the day after a major holiday. We will definitely be making Quail Hollow a semi-​regular getaway.

Rooms did seem like it was cleaned well. Debris under the air conditioner, cobwebs on the bed spreads, and webs and a spider in the coffee maker. No fan in the bathrooms so mirror fogged up even with a short cold shower. Finally, their was a 3 am fire alarm due to improper kitchen cleaning procedures. Then there was no adjustment on the bill for such a gross service disruption.

Please stay away! My friends and I were all double and triple charged for our rooms for the one night we stayed for a friend’s wedding. I called to alert the hotel of the first fraudulent charge, was transferred to the accounting manager, Jack, and he unapologetically said it would be refunded to my account and hung up on me. Not one minute later was my account charged AGAIN! I literally watched my account go down. So I called back maybe two minutes after our first conversation and he would not answer his phone. Unbelievable. Even my bank said that this was a sketchy situation (in other words of course) on the hotel’s end.

I have stayed here several times. Always a quiet place to stay. Good fitness and pool area. I never ate in the restaurant but I have heard good things.
The rooms are started to look dated. They need a little cosmetic upgrades.

Over priced for the quality of hotel. The lobby was nice and my first impression when I walked in was «this is a nice place». But I was disappointed when I got to the early 90’s room. Old mattress, wore out chair along with a very outdated room and not all rooms had refrigerator or microwave. Looks like this was once the place to stay, but has been neglected. It was quiet and had a friendly staff.

I was very very disappointed in our stay. Having grown up in the area Quail Hollow had always been the picture of luxury and now I’d put it on par with a value hotel. While there weren’t any nightmarish conditions, I’d expect far more for the money. I certainly wouldn’t call this a «resort». The towels are like sandpaper, the parking lot and driveways are a disaster, the carpets need replaced badly, the toilet in our room ran and the heater was so loud it would wake me up with it turned on.
The staff was less than helpful. Our room smelled strongly like cigarette smoke for the majority of our stay. It wasn’t just a stale smell from years past, it was obvious that someone near us was violating the no smoking rule. I called the front desk on three occasions to complain. Denise was at the desk each time and could did not care even a little about the smoke smell, she seemed rather annoyed that I would bother her about it. She did offer to come up and spray our room which I declined because I didn’t want a flower AND smoke scented room.
Next time we are in town we will be staying across the street.

Wine country option! I chose QHR for our group wine country weekend. Good clean average but quiet hotel. There were tons of events here, 4 weddings, a teacher Conf, but we never heard a thing. We booked a web special for $ 100/​night and stayed 2 nights The facility itself is clean, although very subtly showing its age, a corner here in the bathtub, a clg there in the room. We used the pool and hot tub, but no other amenities. It’s about 20 mins to the wineries, I’d like to be closer, but we liked the hotel option for the group. If you have drivers, the commute is no big deal.

This gem of a hotel is located on a golf course just off of I-​90 in Painsville, OH about a half hour past Cleveland. I’m surprised it hasn’t been reviewed before as it is in such a convenient location and a great price.
The rooms come with a mini fridge, large flatscreen and free wifi. The sink/​vanity is outside the bathroom/​shower area if that matters to anyone. The shower has nice pressure and hot water so thats always good.
The beds are comfortable with four pillows each and some additional ones in the closet area that are firmer. Overall the room was great, if not a little dated, but very clean and a great bargain to me at $ 90 with AAA discount.
Oh the lobby is a pretty grand entrance area and there is a lounge and restaurant up the stairs on the right.
Lastly there was no free breakfast, but for the price who cares. I would absolutely stay again and next time try to check out the course.

We just came back from the Thanksgiving brunch to our room. we were able to check in at 12:30 and make it to our reservation at 1:00. Thankfully we didn’t have to freshen up in the rest rooms before eating :) So far I cant complain, the staff has been friendly, front desk people were efficient, It seems like a nice place. Everything looks new and in good shape.
The brunch was good, they had turkey, roast beef, ham, and all the fixings, also an omelet bar, a pasta station and a nice dessert table. Also, alcoholic drinks were included, which is surprising, usually they arent. The mimosas were good, the cabernet was average.
The brunch was in a large banquet hall, everything was well organized, and calm. It wasn’t a giant unruly mob Like I was afraid it would be.
We walked around a little bit after brunch. The indoor pool looks nice, and the workout room isn’t as small as some hotel gyms are, has about a dozen weight machines and 3 or 4 treadmills.
Its not the Club Med, but its probably a 3 ½ star place, like an upscale Holiday Inn. Since its Thanksgiving and everything is closed, we’ll probably be having dinner here tonight. Stay tuned.
Stopped at the front desk for a tube of toothpaste, charged it to my room. $ 1.50

We entered the lobby to see one desk agent on the phone. The other looked at us as we approached the desk, but did not greet us. We found out that the indoor pool was closed, but that the outdoor pool was open… when it was in the low 60’s.
As we approached our room, we saw a wet floor sign on the floor. The carpet might as well have been the swimming pool. Throughout our stay, no one ever came to shop vac up all the water. We were placed in a room next to the mechanical room, I think it was 165. The noise was so loud, that I called the desk. Dawn (I think) said she knew of no noise issues in that area, and said she was going to send maintenaince, but that never happened. Instead, we spent the whole night sleeping on rock hard pillows listening to screeching noises coming from the room next door.
Quail Hollow is pretty outdated looking inside and out with uncomfortable beds and facilities which seem to be falling apart. The staff is as uncaring as any I’ve ever encountered, and the rooms are extremely overpriced. Avoid at all costs.

The resort was just OK and for the value/​service I don’t plan on returning. I would not recommend purchasing a weekend package — overpriced and we had some issues with our package. What made our experience were the activities we planned and paid for outside of the resort — spa, beach, horseback riding, wineries. We could have had the same experience at a less expensive and just as nice hotel.
The rooms do need to be updated (décor is dated), but we did not have any major issues with the room.

I had a really pleasant experience at this hotel this past weekend. The front desk person was helpful and the hotel room was very clean. The bedding was really comfortable but the pillows were HUGE. I felt like we had couch cushions.
We also ordered a couple of salads from their restaurant to have in our room and they were delicious!

GREAT staff! I’ve attended two events at this hotel and stayed overnight each time. Every staff member was very attentive and it was an enjoyable stay. The food at the events in the ballroom was delicious and the beds are super comfortable. Additionally, the hotel is a big supporter of local charitable organizations!
