This store has really gone down hill in the last year. Meats are green with a sell by date of over a week old and have a 50% price tag on it. I cannot find yogurt anymore that isn’t past it’s due date. The cheeses, butter, lunchmeats, all out on the shelf with expired dates. The produce is old and expensive! The selection isn’t there anymore. This Dominicks really needs to just shut it doors. How they get away with selling alot of expired food is beyond me! Where is the health department?

The store seems to have gone downhill since the last time I was there. I think the surrounding competition has really taken a toll on this store. I went there today because I knew it would not be crowded and because I hadn’t been there in a while. Prices are still very high. I find it funny how they advertise a «low price» when it is higher than any other store in the area. They really need to lower their prices if they expect to stay afloat. The store seemed to be neglected and i got the impression that morale was low. I actually heard another customer complain about how they couldn’t find anyone to help them. There were 2 lines open for checkout. I don’t know about the other line, but mine did not have a bagger and this slowed things down. The conveyer belt at checkout needed to be cleaned. I didn’t even want to put my groceries on it, but what can you do? The cart holders in the parking lot also were not in good condition. They need to make some changes and improvements to this store to compete with all the other grocery stores in the area.

I’m not really a fan of big chain grocery stores but I stepped in here for a few minutes to find a couple things I needed at the moment. I was not impressed and didn’t end up finding the things I needed. The place didn’t seem warm and friendly; it seemed like a warehouse. Maybe that’s how all Dominick’s look(no, I’m sure I’ve been to a couple really nice ones before), but I won’t be back.

The main reasons I love this Dominick’s are because(1) the employees are friendly and(2) the company has increased their organic products. I have been just doing my own«thing» and shopping before, and have passed by the meat counter or an employee in an aisle and they have greeted me in a genuine and friendly way, which I think is nice. They also carry organic chicken(Dominick’s brand), organic beef(Laura’s brand), and rBGH-free milk, which I buy regularly, and a series of other organic products. This alone has prompted me to shop there more than Jewel. Some of the organic produce is hit-or-miss; for example, I bought seedless organic red grapes last time, and they were genuinely flavorless. The ONLY thing I dislike about this location is the fact that there are usually long checkout lines. I have been there both in the middle of the day and after 7pm, and there have only been 2 cashiers working the registers. There are no self-checkouts, but I think would be great for Dominick’s to invest in some to increase efficiency. The cashiers always ask if you need help out to your car, which is nice, but gets a little silly if you have a light grocery load. Clearly they’re told to do that.
