It’s a real shame that this place closed. It was already bad enough when they stop serving breakfast. I loved their breakfast sandwiches. They made them so perfect with how the egg white and yolk were laid out on the sandwich. In terms of lunch, they made a variety of great sandwiches and Panini’s. I liked every single one of them except for the temptation panini which used raisin bread. I did not like that combination with my meat and condiments. They also had a variety of desserts such as cheesecake and gourmet cookies. I heard the cheesecake was exceptional but being on a strict diet during the time that this place was open, I never had the opportunity to try it. The only reason why I can think that this place closed was because it was located in the bottom of the Keller building and not enough people were aware that it was there. I hope they eventually reopen at a different location, I think they would be really successful if they did.

Today, I found a new favorite lunch place! Fresh, delicious and welcoming, Feast of Eden makes hitting the spot look effortless and conquers it’s challenging basement location(no, really, it’s in the basement of the BMO building)! I had ½ soup & ½ sandwich and a bite of cheesecake afterwards. The tips go to feeding the hungry and I’ll give you a tip: Go to lunch! I can’t wait to come back and bring some people I love. Thank you Barry & Chef Lisa!

We pulled into the bank parking lot, with a little trepidation. There are small signs on the door that direct you downstairs. After a few wrong turns, we found the restaurant. Barry shook each of our hands and gave us menus. He also brought over the specials. We each got different specialty sandwiches, and they were all very tasty. I really enjoyed the Temptation, but my girlfriend’s Cain and Abel was a real winner. I don’t even like pesto, but the bite she allowed me to have was delicious. The potato salad was definitely worth the upgrade. One of the soups was a watermelon gazpacho. It was unbelievably flavorful and refreshing. We also got some cheesecake bites. Blueberry/Lemon was my favorite, but they were all good. It is like having desert tapas. Barry showed us some pictures of their catering, and told us about some of their dishes for parties. Lisa was very friendly and informative as well. I love when people take so much pride in their work. Their attitude and care is evident in every bite. I will take that over white tablecloth any day of the week.

Without a doubt this place earns it’s consistent five stars. From a hearty greeting with an eclectic menu to a most sainted dessert it’s a perfect café experience Even though the owners are friendly and gracious hosts no food place can earn its chops without really good food. Sandwiches perfect. I had a Reuben and my husband had a house special. Both delicious. Well paired dressings and the bread was crisp and fresh. We upgraded to salads instead of chips — coleslaw light and interesting and potato salad spot on. Cheesecake. Nothing to be said except perfect. My favorite kind, not too light but not heavy and done with delicious flavors. We were treated to a bite of the caramel turtle and the cocoanut. Both exquisite. Don’t miss this place

Here’s another place in my neighborhood that I am happy to have around. Their hours have been a bit inconvenient — on Unilocal it says it’s open Mon to Fri and closed Saturday. However, when my husband looked on their website recently, it says it’s open on Saturday from 11−5… which means I can go and visit more often! The food is mostly fantastic like the the Adam’s and Noah’s panini. The coffee toffee cheesecake was also awesome(I don’t like my cheesecake thick and heavy and I thought this one was the perfect consistency). I took off one star because I tried the Banana Fosters cheesecake and the Eve’s Turkey sandwich which I thought were good but not awesome. Other than that, it’s a great place and Chef Lisa and her husband, Barry, are lovely people.

Delicious homemade food in a family environment. On my first visit here, the chef came out to personally speak with my mother about the ingredients in her soup. Every dish I’ve had here has been carefully crafted with quality components. The salads, sandwiches, and cheesecakes are all delicious. Lunch time is busy, but afternoons are slow. The seating for 32 will be full at noon. There is elevator access to their basement location. Food is served on floral china with metal utensils. The sides of potato salad and cole slaw(not creamy, with a light vinegar sauce) are worth the upgrade. And, I need to emphasize, they have cheesecake by the bite! 11 different kinds today. Or you can buy various portions of cheesecake. They sell many sizes to feed all sorts of groups. Other Unilocalers are right, do not miss this place!(Look for the Keller-Williams sign on top of the building.)

Hidden gem in every sense of the word — it’s literally hidden, and easily earns gem status on the merits of great food and impeccable service. We only stumbled on this place thanks to Unilocal. From the moment we walked in we were treated like family. My wife and I tried the Cain and Abel panini and Noah’s panini. Both were awesome but have to give the edge to Noah. Highly recommend the blueberry pomegranate tea too. Can’t wait to go back to try more menu items.

If you were to put local, small town, midwestern goodness inside the basement of an office building, Feast of Eden is it. The biggest selling point is the charm and warm friendly personalities of the owners who run it. I would say their focus would be on the catering side, but since I just came by the neighborhood to try out the cheesecakes, my take on it is a little different. I agree with another reviewer the cheesecakes were slightly frozen. It’s probably best to buy for take home as opposed to eating on site. They were all good and some were oddly a bit salty — Bananas Foster, in particular. It didn’t bother me so much, but not something I expected.

This place is perfect for a lunch break. The owner, Barry, is so friendly! The food is fantastic, fresh, and different from a standard chain lunch break. I tried ½ the Creation salad with ½ the Eve Turkey Sand and an amazing side of Winter Kale Salad. The nuts on the salad were sweet with a little hint of curry– sooooo good! Additionally I loved we were able to get a bite of cheesecake for $ 1. I tried the Turtle cheesecake– a little salty and wonderful. I would go back for lunch again. Next time I think ill just get a big creation salad and bite of cheesecake. Great place!

Impressed by the good reviews, me and my husband went to Feast of Eden to try the Cheesecakes, which a lot of reviewers lauded so much and I am really sorry, but I can’t give those cheesecakes 5 stars. They were frozen, which was a bit disappointing to me and almost $ 7 for a little size is a lot. The taste was good, but not as «mind-blowing» as I expected it to be according to all the reviews. Tastes differ…

Another little gem found through the magic of Unilocal!Went here for lunch today on an adventure with a coworker. The broccoli cheddar soup is delicious, the Cain and Abel’s Panini is addictive! Great food, decent price, and the owners introduce themselves to you when you come in! Definitely going back again.

Let’s talk about the best place that I have been to for lunch in Palatine. As a constant Unilocaler I’m always looking for new places, and I am so happy that I found this place! I just moved back to Palatine and this place is the best hidden(literally) gem that I have found in the area. First of all, the staff is exceptionally friendly. Barry and Lisa are kind, genuine people that really went out of their way to establish a relationship with me on my very first visit. Barry shook my hand and showed me catering photos, as well as thank you cards from many very satisfied customers. I would go back to talk to them alone, but what about the food? Today for lunch: creation salad and watermelon gazpacho soup. Yea, watermelon gazpacho. In case you’re wondering, the soup was amazing. Cool and refreshing, but not overly sweet at all. Perfect for the weather. I noted that they specifically designed parts of their menu for seasonal flavors. The salad was also ridiculous, with house-made cranberry vinaigrette. Their cheesecake is unreal. I am a sweets fiend, but usually like small bits of stuff. They offer«just a bite» of cheesecake for $ 1/piece. They make all of their cheesecake fresh and in house, and it beats out any other cheesecake you can get. I got three bites(coffee toffee, coconut crème, and peanut butter cup), because they all looked too good to decide between and apparently I have no self control. Overall, Feast of Eden receives my first review and first 5-star rating. I came in as a stranger and left feeling like a friend, and was rewarded with outstanding food for stopping in. I will be going back as often as I can. Please stop by and support this wonderful business, you won’t be disappointed!

Went here for lunch today with my wife while driving through Palatine. If not for Unilocal I never would have known this place existed. It’s buried in the basement of the Harris Bank building right off Rt. 14 and upon entering I felt like we were trespassing. Seriously, who makes an effort to go TO these little office building basement cafes; usually tenants make an effort to get OUT of the building for lunch. Well, this particular building’s occupants can consider themselves lucky. Once we made it through the somewhat confusing, yet clearly marked path to the basement we found a nice little café with the proprietor welcoming us with open arms. We asked how we found them as we were clearly outsiders, and of course ‘Yelp’ was the answer we gave. He walked us through their menu and specials and between my wife and I we tried a little bit of everything. We were in a rush so didn’t have time to try any of the mouthwatering cheesecakes that his wife had baked from scratch. For $ 6 I got half of the ‘Eve’s Favorite Turkey’ and a small ‘Creation Salad’ which were both excellent; all the ingredients tasted really fresh especially the goat cheese on the salad. For barely over $ 5 my wife had their sandwich/soup combo with an interesting soup of the day: a deconstructed Buffalo Chicken accompanied by a grilled cheese special that fail to recall much about, except that she liked it. The service was excellent and they made us feel quite at home, our only regret is that we had to eat and run so fast. Next time we’ll plan to relax a bit more and try the cheesecake bites :)

I checked in here today for the first time, met the owner and his wife, both great people. They know what it takes to make a person feel happy for stopping by. They took the time to explain the different selection of cheesecakes, and everything else on the menu. I took home four different cheesecakes, all amazing. Needless to say, I will be stopping by here again soon. If there is any negative thing to write about this place, its the convenience. It is located in the basement of a corporate office building, and the hours are not that great for people who aren’t in the area in the daytime during the weekdays.

This place was awesome. I found this after it was listed as Palatine’s #1 restaurant by Palatine Patch, and I looked it up on here after not ever hearing about it before. I had Eve’s Favorite turkey sandwich combo with a cup of the Carrot & Ginger soup. The sandwich was great. I really enjoyed the«Bee’s Knees» sauce on it(apricot, honey, and just enough horseradish for that familiar and delicious zing.) The soup was stellar, and I’m regretting that I didn’t take some to go. It was comparable to a butternut squash soup with notes of ginger. It was rich and creamy, and just all-around tasty. I bought a baby Coffee Toffee cheesecake to go as well. It was so good that my mom– who doesn’t like cheesecake– ate half of it! I will definitely be back. Chef Lisa and Barry were very nice, down to earth people. This is definitely a must-try for foodies looking for something different, and the fact that it’s a hidden gem makes it that much better!

I found this place with Google, which is good, because there is absolutely no way you can find it by driving by. It’s in the basement of the Harris Bank Building in Palatine and there are no signs on the outside! Anyway, it was my husband’s birthday and I wanted to get him some **good** cheesecake, not the chemically-laden store-bought kind. I picked up one Peanut Butter, one Chocolate and one Raspberry Swirl, each of them 4″. They were fantastic! Each had just the right amount of flavoring and a nice crust. I am so impressed with the cheesecake and the menu offerings, I cannot wait to go back for lunch!

I am a flexitarian and I only eat meat about once a week, so when I do eat meat I have to make it count. I actually found this place over a year ago, right here on Unilocal. There was only one review at the time, but I was intrigued enough to try it. Unfortunately their hours are limited and I work in retail so getting out there hasn’t been so easy. However, today is the day I decided to try it, and, boy, was it worth it. I got a cup of soup and half sandwich combo. The carrot ginger soup was outstanding and I had to get some to go too! I got a turkey sandwich with their bees knees sauce(apricot, horseradish, honey). Once you taste the sauce you will understand why they named it that. So good! The turkey was really good too. Pretty much everything is made from scratch too, which is awesome. I got a slice of the raspberry swirl cheesecake to go and it was so yummy. I hope to be back. My only complaint is that they don’t have avocado. As a former resident of California it hurts my soul to eat a sandwich or salad without avocado. I know things are different here and avocado is expensive, but maybe if they add it as an upcharge to their sandwiches and salads people will take them up on that. Anyway, great food, great service, great value. If you haven’t been there, you should. Run, don’t walk.
