Boo and no stars. We were in the area to get my husband’s car serviced. I will add that we have family in the area, a few blocks away. We found that they had Zombie Dust on beermenus, so we decided to stop in. The owner interrogated my husband when he asked about the beer. He asked if he was from the area and my husband told him we were waiting for the car and popped in. He refused to sell it to him. Don’t post on beermenus if your $h&! isn’t for sale to the public. The real ahole move was after Black Friday and the bro-in-law, who frequents often and grew up over there, was denied Bourbon County because the guy wasn’t sure if he was a regular or not. Seriously, get over yourself. You are just pissing off customers, legit ones that aren’t hoarders or mules, and I suggest you open a speakeasy if you need to be part of some exclusive club to buy beer, which what you are selling. Never again…

What a find — well actually their micro-brew collection is amazing — found KBS and a few more I’d never seen. They have an adequate wine collection for a neighborhood spot — but the micro beers — this place has them — plus the owner, Mr A is a nice guy to boot.

Shock and awe. I’ve been doing the dirty around these parts for a little over a year now and it wasn’t until just a few weeks ago that I finally made the trip in to what looks like some cruddy, run-down, sad-sad, liquor store in a mostly vacant and/or abandoned Palatine strip mall and I was blown away with a selection of sauces that would put a smirk on even a novice boozehound and/or liquor-pig. Shame.On.Me. I’ll just say this up front, I don’t know jack sh*t about wine. It’s not really my thing, and I’m happy just going with whatever bottle has the best artwork and still manages to remain nominally priced. Basically, they might have a great or crappy wine selection, but I couldn’t tell you. They had that Barefoot stuff, though… that’s the classy one, right? Where this place shines is fo sho its beer selection. It’s not huge, but they carry a lot of pretty rare stuff and a bunch of the stuff the other big box booze stores don’t have. They do set limits on certain things, like maximum 2 per person on some bottle, but honestly, I’m a sucker for supply and demand so that kind of thing really excites me. Their selection is always changing and they’re open later than any of the other bottled booze purveyors in this area. It’s probably not a destination place, but if you’re within a 12 – 15 minute range of here, it’s worth popping over for a peak at their products.

I always love finding a liquor store with a great selection of beer and this place surprised me. I got excited as I walked into the back of the store and found a huge selection of microbrews nestled in the coolers. There are also a lot of 750 mL bottles of beer on shelves next to the coolers. They seem to always have a good selection of seasonal brews, too. I always prefer to shop here, even if it’s a little out of the way because a) the beer selection, b) the owner or whoever works the front counter is pretty friendly and c) they’re open pretty late, even on weekdays. I think they’re open until midnight on weekends. I can’t wait to go back to see what they’ve recently gotten in stock!
