I can here to try the shaved ice. I had the green tea cheese shaved ice. There’s a huge chunk of cheesecake in the shaved ice and on the bottom below the ice is Mochi and the red bean. The shaved ice is made with milk not water. They give you a side cup of matcha and condensed milk. The mango cheese shaved ice was not as good as the green tea one. Their beverages a bit mediocre. I had their plum tea and it was ok. Come here for dessert.

FISHBREAD&BINGSOO This is a popular Korean café! We tried the BLACKSESAMEBINGSOO and FISHBREAD(REDBEAN&RICECAKE). The bingsoo was shaved ice that was softer than your typical shaved ice, but not quite snow. I wish that there was more black sesame in the shaved ice besides on top, because near the bottom of the bowl there was not much flavor. The black sesame was a more savory, nutty option compared to the other bingsoos. The fish bread take awhile to come out because they are freshly prepared. The come out piping hot, have a light flaky batter around the filling, and are perfectly crunchy! They are understaffed, with two workers manning the cash register, drinks, and desserts all at once. It took awhile for our desserts to come out(~15 min) but the wait was worth it. This is a great way to get Manhattan-quality desserts without trekking to the city. FYI * Melon bingsoo is seasonal only in the summer. * They offer Colombe Torrefaction coffee!

The atmosphere of this café was very cute– a little hard to be seen although it is located on the corner of a very busy road. Everything on display was in a very neat fashion and the drink menu was concise but lengthy enough that it made it a tad bit hard for me to choose exactly what I wanted. I ended up choosing the peach iced tea lemonade topped with cotton candy and wow, it was definitely a party in my mouth(:p) it lasted quite a while– and it was an awesome pairing with my pizza bread. It was similar to drinking soda with a much lighter feel to it. I’ll definitely be stopping by this place again next time I’m in the area! Anything with cotton candy is always a great idea. I wish there were more places like this near where I lived but I guess now I have something to look forward to while in Bergen.

This place was okay for me. I heard a lot of hype about it over the summer and really wanted to try their cotton candy iced tea and melon shaved ice. When I finally got to try it, I was left disappointed. Maybe it’s because I was expecting so much. Although their drinks and desserts are aesthetically pleasing, that’s all there is to it. The melon shaved ice wasn’t bad. I liked how they used frozen shaved milk, so when you took a bite out of it, it melted in your mouth. The Melona bar was a plus also. The cotton candy ice tea, however, was terrible. Did not taste anything like iced tea and they added way too much sugar. It tasted like concentrated flavored syrup added into seltzer water. Since when was iced tea carbonated? It was so bad that I threw the rest out. In all honesty, to me this place is all hype and only good for Instagram pictures.

Came here because of all the photos I’ve seen of the Melon Bingsoo, and being a dessert lover, I had to come here. Came here on a Saturday night with my husband around 9pm and the place was packed. Cute little coffee shop — looks like a great hangout for teens. We tried the Melon Bingsoo and literally it does taste as good as it looks. The melon condense milk was everything — i wanted to ask if i can buy a whole can and bring it home lol. The portion is VERY big so share! Definitely coming back! Next time, trying the Mango Cheese!

Such a cute café! It really stands out from all the other cafes in palisades park because of their unique bingsoos and pretty decorations on the lattes.

I searched coffee shop one day and this place popped up. After reading the reviews and seeing the awesome pics I knew I HAD to give it a try! Walking in I was a bit overwhelmed since I had never been here before and didnt know where to start. We tried asking the cashier for advice and all she would say was look on Unilocal or instagram… thats the only reason for the 4 stars and not 5. She was not rude but not helpful at all with the questions I had on how and what to order. Based on Unilocal reviews I had made we ordered the Mango Cheese Bingsoo and the Chocolate Bingsoo. Mango Cheese Bingsoo is EVERYTHING! It is shaved ice with fresh, diced mango, mochi, frosted flakes as garnish, a scoop of ice-cream, diced cheese cake and a small separate container of condensed milk. The chocolate Bingsoo is shaved ice, with crushed oreo cookies and a separate container of chocolate sauce. The are LARGE. One can be shared with four people. I didnt know how to tackle it and watched the people at the table next to me to see how they ate theirs. We scooped some into our own individual bowls and then added the syrup/condensed milk that came with each, mixed it with spoons and enjoyed! SODELICIOUS! Definitely try it! They also serve Colombe coffee!

The Café Affogoto papbingsoo at Café Leah was one of the best versions of papbingsoo I’ve had so far. The coffee and cream flavor in this was amazing, with the most decadent rich flavor and super velvety texture. The coffee was super fresh and delicious that came with the papbingsoo, and the atmosphere was very low key and relaxed. The service was a little slow, but that could be because only two people appeared to be working. I don’t know if this is always the case or not, but it did take quite a while to get our bingsoo.

First time i saw this I immediately fell in love with café lea. Servers were very friendly and they have a fast service. The strawberry shaved ice that we had is not that sweet. I liked the fact that they had this condensed milk that you could put on top of the shaved ice. They also have those card that they punch whenever u buy from them. A must to go to whenever you’re craving for a dessert in palisades! Overall, two thumbs up

Good coffee and great dessert. If you are going to get the bingsoo/ice cream you have to share it, it is soooo big. 1 cappuccino and 2 bingsoo was like $ 37 little on the pricey side but still worth it.

Allright — I’m a sucker and gave in; I drove an hour, paid $ 25 in toll to come and try this place out because everyone kept posting pictures of their melon bingsoo on instagram/facebook. It was definitely worth it. I won’t divulge anymore, you have to go try it yourself.

So this review is based on my second visit. The first visit I was taken off guard by the new type of Patbingsoo that was the new rage. [i’ve been living in Nashville with very few Korean restaurant options]. Anyways I wanted my boyfriend to try it and we got the café affogatto and man, it was amazing. The simplicity of this Patbingsoo and the flavors that it offers is so great. The only thing was that service was a little slow and that may be because there were only two people but they seemed constantly behind. But besides that it had plenty of seating and a comfortable atmosphere.

Mango shaved ice cheese bingsu. That’s all I need to say. This dessert is bomb and gives this spot automatic 4 stars. This place is open late enough after dinner, till 11pm so if you’re craving something like this, rest assured your fix is here. It’s never really packed so there’s always room if you’re with a large group. They give you a number with your order and you can grab a table. They’ll deserve you where you’re sitting. The only gripe I really have is that the tables are usually not clean. I understand since they might be short staffed but a routine wipe down of the table tops would be good.

Order: 1) Mango Cheese Bingsoo — $ 13.99 2) Green Tea Latte Hot(small) — $ 4.25 This place is good to hangout and chit chat. Mango Cheese Bingsoo is taste very delicious. Although they charge a bit expensive for a shaved ice. But it is way better than Caffe Bene or Paris Baguette and worth for it. It is because the ice itself it not just a water turn into ice. The ice has milk. Shaved ice came with very sweet & fresh mango in dice, mochi, cornflakes, a scoop of ice-cream, cheesecake in dice and a separate a small container with condensed milk. This won’t taste like watery. They also have so many different types of shaved ice. Must give a try. Service is excellent first the server give us a 2 bowls and he saw we have 4 people and he came back with extra 2 bowls and spoons. Also order a small green tea latte and asked the cashier if there’s will be a latter art. He said yes. Then I asked if you can draw a bunny. He said he will try his best. It turns out doesn’t look like a perfect bunny. The person need to practice more. Café de Cupping can draw a good art there if you have a special request. Overall not bad place to hangout after dinner.

Melon bingsoo is ridic! Mix it though cus the milk bingsoo under the melon stuff can get a little bland. They also give some melona syrup to mix in if you want it, but it’s a bit too sweet for me. They use La Colombe beans here which is kind of random but also kind of freakin awesome. La Colombe is up there with Blue Bottle and Intelligentsia in my top coffees, so it’s good to see that these guys take their coffee seriously. I feel like a lot of other Korean cafes go for more wow-factor with their offerings instead of getting really good quality basic coffee. Not to say that there is any shortage of wow-factor here… one look at the bingsoos and drinks would tell you that.

I really like everything about this place minus the prices. They keep a relatively clean seating area and it’s in a great location(Broad Ave in Palisades Park). During the summer, the side seats tend to get hotter by the windows, but I guess it depends where the sun is hitting. I’ve tried their cotton candy ice ade twice and their green tea cheese bingsoo. See below for my food reviews! Overall, this is a great place to kill time if you are waiting for a friend. I’d say that the prices are bit steep, but I guess they’re super trendy right now and can afford to put that price tag on their items. One interesting thing I’d like to try in the future is their rice burgers(??). I saw a picture of it, but didn’t try it. Cotton Candy Ice Ade: I think that the cotton candy is hit or miss, based on who is making your cotton candy. The first time, It was super fluffy and perfect. The second time, the cotton candy was flat and smushed. Another con of this is that the top of your lid for your cup will be super sticky! The drink itself is pretty good! A nice refreshing, sparkling, sweet drink that will hit the spot on a hot summer day. I’ve tried the grapefruit and the peach ones. The grapefruit is especially nice because it has grapefruit bits on the bottom. I think this one’s also a little less sweet than the peach– the peach was a little bit sweet for me, but that’s personal preference, I think. Green tea cheese bingsoo: The cheese part is CHEESECAKE. They were even thoughtful enough to put a dish on the side so we could devour the cake on that instead of on the bingsoo itself. But who’d have thunk it? Green tea and cheese cake are a match made in heaven(but then again, green tea goes with everything, right??). I love how they layer their bingsoo so that you’re not just getting all the toppings on top, but in the middle once you get to it(especially great if you’re not a bingsoo mixer). The green tea ice cream it comes with is actually really delicious. Not too sweet, and you get the full green tea flavor. Highly recommend this one! I’m torn on whether or not it’s worth the 12 or 13 dollars … Forget exactly how much it is. I’m sure as demand rises, they’ll just make it more expensive though… I’ve heard that the melon bingsoo is just meh and not as flavorful as you’d expect, so try at your own discretion.

I came here because of an instagram post of their melon bingsoo and I’m glad I did. I came with friends and ordered the melon bingsoo and the peach tea aide with cotton candy. The bingsoo came out with shaved milky snow, melon balls, melona ice cream, and some melon syrup/milk to pour over. It was light, refreshing, and not to sweet. It was perfect for the hot weather. The peach tea was slightly carbonated and came topped with a huge puff of cotton candy. I didn’t see any connection between the two things, but it was fun to share the cotton candy with friends while sipping on the tea. I also liked that the tea was bubbly with the slight carbonation. Cute idea! Their other bingsoo options all looked delicious as well. I had different friends go back and say they enjoyed the injulmee bingsoo and the green tea cheese bingsoo. I don’t know if I’ll ever be back in this area, but if I am, I would make another visit to this café.
