I gotta say, this place is perfect if you want some korean-styled chicken. I got the half-portioned(5 pieces) soy garlic drumsticks and cheese ddukbokki. The cheese ddukbokki was very cheesy, the ricecake was soft and it just melted in your mouth.(You’ll love it if your a cheese lover like me). I definately enjoyed the soy garlic chicken drumsticks. The outer part of the chicken was flavorful and tasty while the inside of the chicken was soft and juicy. The total bill came out to be only $ 20.50! which isn’t bad at all. However, i wish the place was alittle bigger and spacious. All the tables are about a foot or two close together so you’re literally sitting close besides the person on the next table, which can be kind of uncomfortable.

Went there pretty late at night(10:30ish). Loved the garlic soy sauce. Nothing special about the sweet & spicy sauce. Overall, good experience, fast service, tasty fried chicken!

I ordered at 9:30PM on a Friday night. 1 soy garlic combo, I live in LEONIA which is roughly 8 min drive from this location, but I did not have my car that night so I decided to deliver it and just give the guy at least 20% tip, which was already left online with the order. I get a call back within 5 min of my order telling me that there were no more drumsticks that they would have to replace it with all wings. I said it was fine and they thanked me. it is now 10:20PM. Typical korean style fried chicken is made to order so it takes a good 30 – 45 min but I call anyways to see what’s going on. The phone just rings and rings and rings and no answer… So for a second, I’m thinking. hrmm that’s super odd. I wait another 10 min no call back. I call again it is now 10.30, ring ring ring ring ring they answer, I’m like, I placed an order at 9:30 it’s almost 11. what’s going? They tell me, oh i’m so sorry the driver left a bit ago, he should be there soon. Let me remind you I live about 8 min away from this place, if the driver was lost he has my cellphone which comes with the order. It is not 11 pm, now I’m starting to lose my appetite and get a little pissed… 11:08 pm, my door rings. I’m pretty pissed off but at least my food is here. I go to open my food. and w t f. you can already tell … it’s going to be terrible the color is very dark and you see all the condensation on the box. The chicken meat wasn’t too terrible, but just very cold. The skin was honestly so so so so sweet. I never had soy garlic taste be this sweet before. Since it was cold and wet, there was no crispiness to it at all. I had to microwave the chicken to get it warmed up again… I’m so so so disappointed and disgusted at the way they do their business. Shame on you DONCHICKEN, never again will you have business from me or my family.

This place must put some dope in their chicken. It is really good and addictive LOL i believe this place has best chicken in Palisades Park and Fort Lee.

We stopped eating here because 1st, the service sucks. 2nd, I feel like they prioritize korean customers. 3rd when you call ahead of time, they don’t put your orders right. 4th we order for pick up, we called 20 minutes ahead, it turns out they did not put your order, so we need to wait for another 15 minutes for it. 5th, you wanted the soy garlic, then they always ran out of that sauce. And this happened a couple of times. Don’t get me wrong but the chicken is good. Hope they appreciate their customers better. :(

Chicken is amazing at this spot. I had a 20 piece soy garlic set and shared with 2 others. We were still a bit hungry so we ordered snowflake cheese fries. The fries were good, but the cheese was very sweet and unusual! It ruined the fries that were already perfectly crisp. Would highly recommend the chicken but not the snowflake cheese fries.

This place has AMAZING chickens. It tastes so good and it’s perfectly made. One thing that got to me was the extremely expensive prices. It is overpriced so I recommend that you go with a friend, especially one who is rich and doesn’t care about how much money they spend.

While the chicken is decent(but not completely out of this world), beware the service there. The server brought us the wrong chicken dish, and this being our first time, we did not realize this. They then brought out the correct dish, but insisted we pay for *both* chicken dishes, even though it was their mistake, because we «accepted» the dish. When they poured water, they realized they would overfill, and then pour patrons’ water BACK into their pitchers, bringing other people’s backwash into their common water pitchers. I’m a fan of great«hole in the walls»(I’ve been to many all over the world) but I caution anyone against this one.

Since I grew up in a Korean family, I’ve eaten Korean fried chicken atleast once every 1 or 2 weeks.(6 or 7 weeks) I can say that out of the countless places that my family and I ordered from, this place is definitely up there. Places like YamYam &BBQ definitely taste good, but it depends on the night. Some days, the chicken come out very fresh, and other days, its a dissapointment. However, this place hasn’t let me down once, and you can tell the chicken here is very fresh. It’s a shame they don’t deliver. I’ve gotten the original Crispy chicken w/the honey mustard sauce, and it’s amazing. Their fries are very good as well.

My favorite chicken spot of the multitude of Korean fried chicken joints in the local vicinity, bar none. Also BYO so don’t forget to run to hanmi next door or the liquor store across the street to pick up some beer with your friends for an enjoyable chicken night.

Pretty good chicken for a decent price. Crispy and savory. I would come back for more if I had the chance.

Yeah the server kind of sucks, but he’s just mad busy and maybe doesn’t like his job very much. BUT dat chicken! Spicy sauce and regular fried chicken is our go to, and it’s a perfect balance. You get plastic gloves and just go to town, you won’t regret it!

Best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had!!! The spicy sauce is so on point and the crispy fried option is also sooooo good. Seasoning is perfect and the chicken is so tender. They are on the small size tho for wings at least. I love the radish that comes with all the chicken too. Very good combination. This is different from bonchon so don’t read other reviews that compare this to them. Apples and oranges. The only thing that made me take off a star was the service. They need to get more servers when it’s busy. It takes forever to get what you need. Other than that the food is delicious and we come here very often and also get a lot of take out. Definitely give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

There are so many Korean chicken places these days in North Jersey with a new one opening every few months it seems. This one falls into the average category. $ 1 charge for honey mustard(or any other sauce) was disappointing.

Horrible. Ordered non spicy soy garlic whole chicken and got delivered for spicy whole chicken. They claimed that they only have spicy whole chicken. Then they shouldn’t advertise and put it on the menu! How the head will the customer know.

As a fan of BonChon & Yam Yam Chicken, I have added Don Chicken to the top of my list. Don’t let the humble décor of the store fool you otherwise — these folks know how to make CRISPY chicken. Their sweet/spicy(yangyum) chicken is amazing with it’s glaze like consistency! — and they are very generous with the amount of sauce that is delightfully poured over the chicken. And somehow,(magic, perhaps?) the chicken is still crispy by the time we open our to-go container at home. And they thoughtfully include a pair of plastic disposable gloves with each order.

Very strange establishment. I tried their chicken last month and they have yet to allow me to try for the second time. I enjoyed their soy garlic wings so I made an attempt to order it again but it has been continuously on and off the menu(mostly off). I’d call to order and they would tell me their soy garlic sauce is «not ready». Well, it hasn’t been ready for over a month now. I’m all for consistent businesses and this place is inconsistency at its best.

I haven’t tried their Donkatsu, but their chicken is on point and I have dined in and done take out/delivery and realized that for the service, its better to order delivery than just sit in. We always order the pahdak which is scallions over chicken with special soy sauce drizzled on the chicken, and the chicken even with delivery remains crispy and tender. Most of their chicken and seasoning are also good and way crispier and crunchier than the chicken places near the area. My favorite chicken place so far!

Went here once with a friend and will say that I’m not coming back. We normally have Bön Chon Chicken and that is absolutely delicious, but we were in the area so we tried this place. The signs outside showed the soy garlic chicken we normally get at Bön Chon so we went inside to try it out. Not really sure if there was anything I liked about this place. The guy serving us was quite rude, wasn’t nice or friendly at all. Sat us down and took a really long time to come back. Mind you, we were the only people there. A little while later, two tables came in so it still wasn’t that busy. The prices are pretty high for this place as well. We ended up just getting the 10 piece and figured we’d go eat elsewhere after. We asked for water as well and he didn’t bring it to us until awhile later, basically when we got our food. The wait for the chicken didn’t matter to us since we know it takes awhile to make. The chicken had so much batter on it and was so greasy it kind of made me sick. This place was nothing compared to Bön Chon or even Boom Boom chicken. I must say the chicken is actually bigger though and still pretty juicy, but just a lot of batter. I only had a few pieces and my friend had the rest. We finished eating, basically cleaned up our own table, and sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting for the guy to come back with our bill. He walked past us and even when we tried to wave him over to us, he either didn’t see us or chose not to answer. Finally we got fed up and called him over and just handed our credit card to him. It really took longer than needed to pay the bill. Yes he was the only server but there were literally three tables there, 2 of us and 4 people at the other two tables so I can’t even say it was busy. Just really not a good experience here, will stick with the other two places I normally go to. Maybe other people will have a better experience here.
