AIRBAR, THE Blow Dry Bar

Last Friday I went for my first blowout ever and was extremely disappointed. I made an appointment for 5 pm online. There were several openings available when I booked, so my friend that was going out with me decided to make an appointment for the same time. When I arrived I was told there were running late. I waited 45 mins before speaking up and asking where I was on the list. I was told «next». My friend who went with me was completely finished before I even sat down. The girl at the desk let two other women go before me stating they would be quick. I did not sit down to have my blowout until 1h and 15mins after my scheduled visit. The young lady, Vivian, did a great job on my hair. But with the long wait and women that went In front of me I was almost 30 mins late for my event and made my friend late as well.

I went to air bar twice! The first time it was recommended to me by a friend. I specifically asked for a hair stylist (someone recommended) but I guess she wasn’t available so they put me with someone else, and I figured it was a blow dry bar so everyone must be amazing. Well I was wrong. I didn’t leave satisfied. When I get a good blow out it generally lasts 3 – 4 days. This didnt even last until the end of the night! Fast forward to month later. I decided to give this place another try! I called in advance to request the same stylist I tried to last time and I felt as if the owner or whoever is at the front desk didn’t care. When I arrived she gave me the same girl!!! I didn’t want to hurt the girls feeling so I didn’t say anything! Left with my hair looking worse than the first time. I tried twice with this place and I will never return. Word to the manager you should try to please the customer. If the customer is requesting somebody don’t ignore them and point them in an awkward position like you put me. I will be trying BLOWTOX. Hopefully they will listen to me. Greatly disappointed. $ 70 +tip down the drain!

After going to a few different blow dry bars in the area and being dissatisfied on multiple accounts, I’m happy today airbar doesn’t disappoint. Vivianne, Darlene, and Stephanie all give great blowouts if you’re ever unsure who to book with. They’re gentle, quick, and great at styling. It’s a beautiful salon that’s always clean. Nothing bad to say about Airbar!

Was very happy with my blowout today. Stephanie was great. She asked before using conditioner or product and was gentle, no burning of my scalp like most places.
I’m very happy with the results and will be returning.

I am greatly disappointed from my first experience at Airbar. I have been to several blow dry bars locally and also out of state. I always have had a fantastic experience and amazing long lasting blow outs. I was really excited to finally go to Airbar. Especially, since it was for a special occasion. My appointment was on 4÷12÷15. I walked in and was greeted by their very rude receptionist. Not even a hello, or a welcome to Airbar. I was told to sit down and wait for _​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​. Alter waiting 5 minutes she came out from the back. Again, no hello or hi, I’m _​_​_​_​_​_​_​, is this your first time here? All I was asked, «do you want your hair shampooed?» Umm… Yes, please? After the shampoo she asked what I wanted. Usually, at these blow dry bars your given a «look book» with all their signature blow outs. I’m not sure if Airbar has one or I just wasn’t given one to look at. I thought I asked for something pretty simple. I would like it blow dried with a lot of volume and finished with big bouncy curls. I made it really clear I did not want a lot of product. She then proceeded to put lots and lots of product in my hair. She reassured me it was really «lightweight». 45 mins later she finished blow drying my hair. No curls just a lot of «poof». She seemed like she was done. I had to ask her to run the wand through my hair for the big bouncy curls I asked for. I also asked her to retouch the little «frizzy» parts in the front because she didn’t blow dry it well when she started. She told me not worry about it because you can’t see «frizz» in pictures and when I go outside its going to «frizz» anyway. The stylist couldn’t have seemed more uninterested in making me happy. To end this experience I paid the once again rude receptionist. In the middle of checking me out someone walked in asking about a appointment. The receptionist ignored me and began talking to her. Eventually, I was given my receipt after standing there for a bit. I can get over the horrible customer service but I can’t get over the awful blow out I was given. When I get my hair professional blow dried it lasts for days. I had to wash my hair less than 24 hours later. What a disappointment Airbar is.

Amazing! I went with 6 friends on a Saturday to get hair and makeup for a wedding we were attending. I coordinated well in advance, particularly with Jenny, the owner (she’s awesome). The salon is pretty, relaxing and clean; and, constantly busy. A nice girl’s place. The makeup artists and hair stylists were friendly, professional, fairly fast and still very precise, patient, eager to please and receptive to comments (even with some of us being quite particular). We all left very happy and beautiful. We were impressed that our hair (updos and blowouts) and makeup lasted all night, despite a lot of dancing. We all commented that AirBar was better than many places in NYC. Jenny is very passionate about Airbar and the quality of her staff. It shows, and proved itself in our beautiful makeup and perfectly styled hair.

I owe AirBar an apology. On ½ I reviewed AirBar after a less than stellar experience. But I realize now the place was overwhelmed with clients on New Year’s Eve and I was overwhelmed with exhaustion after a 1200 mile drive in holiday traffic. A few days later I was emailed a 20% off incentive to return, so I did and I am happy I gave them a second chance for that experience is exactly what you’d expect when you want to be pampered.

I have been to many «blow dry bars» but I had my first experience at Airbar today. I was not impressed. I walked in and there were about 5 stylists just sitting at the front desk and they all just stared at me. There was no welcome greeting from anyone. The receptionist said «hi» and I told her my name. She said my stylist was ready for me. I apologize for not remembering her name– I think it was Vivienne. She was amazing and she is the only reason I gave them 2 stars.
The stylists and receptionist sat around while piles of hair tumbled near my feet. Upon leaving, the receptionist was unfriendly and quite rude.
I could keep going on and on but I think I will stop there. Very disappointed.
Update 1÷14÷15− received a personal phone call from the owner/​manager (not sure which one) she was extremely apologetic and sweet! It was greatly appreciated and she talked about how the company prides themselves on customer service and just the phone call alone was proof of that!

LOVE this concept! Airbar has so much talent under one roof. I have used multiple different people, such as Jessica, Ashley, and Lissandre and have loved all my looks! From quick ten dollar braids, to a complex up do, and just a simple blowout, I have never walked out unhappy. The décor is adorable and Bravo is always on the tv to entertain. The products they use will make you walk out smelling like you took a bath in a bed of flowers! They also have a great selection of headbands and accessories. You have got to try this place!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! This place. I was in the area because of a layover I had on the way back to Scottsdale, AZ. This place was more then expected. customer service and quality is 5 star. I had Mimi give me «the bouncy,» blowout. She was excellent. Wish I could bring her with me. The ambiance in the salon was to die for. They’ve succeeded my expectations. Best Blowout I’ve had.

Love this spot! Everyone is super nice, Darlene is AMAZING… wish they opened a little earlier and stayed open longer on weekends but this is an awesome spot.
