I was surprised with the bad reviews. We were very pleased with the service and the food was good. Most of the food was fair priced except for the fajitas which were 21.00.

My husband and I ate at the Downtown at the Gardens location on May 08. Within an hour we had all the symptoms of food poisoning. It was so bad, we almost went to the hospital. I called the manager. He basically called me a liar and had no interest in trying to remedy the situation Beware! Never Again!

Man this place just gets worse and worse. I almost never write a review but man the service is terrible. The foods on par with a fast food Mexican place. Everything taste like Mccormicks taco mix. I’m off for a little house music but not full volume during dinner. Hey DJ Great job reading the crowd! If you’re going out for drinks sure why not. But if you want to eat go anywhere else

I had high hopes for this place. When you walk in, the décor is awesome over the top cheesy tex mex! I was ecstatic! Sat down to order and this ensued– Watery salsa, stale greasy chips, the table side guacamole was bland maybe cause it wasn’t made at the table side? Just dropped off at the table in a drive by fashion. The plain margarita wasn’t frozen(still confused about that) and rushed service. I have to say the veggie fajitas was quite delish, but no rice and beans on the side and it only came with three tortillas. I’m hoping this was just a bad night.

One of the best dinners we had while visiting the Jupiter area! Fish tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had and the margarita tube is a great deal of dining with a lot of friends! Can’t wait to come back next time we visit the area.

The tastiness of food here is quite lacking. I’ve had the guacamole, salsa, chips, mini burgers, and buffalo chicken quesadillas. All were uninspired and generic tasting. They need to amp up the seasoning in the kitchen. The margaritas were on the weak side, and salt on the rim was inconsistent. Luckily I was here for happy hour so I didn’t pay full price. My boyfriend likes the mahi mahi fish tacos cabo light(in a lettuce shell, instead of tortilla). The fish portions are large compared to other fish tacos I’ve seen before. He likes them which is why I’ve been here twice for happy hour. He asked for hot sauce and got three different bottles, which they probably have to offer customers since their food is so bland. There seemed to be an issue with the way orders were being put in the second time we were there. Food runners kept coming out with dishes that were supposed to go to the other side of the bar. Once is fine; it happens. But it was almost every order that came out was going to the wrong customer. One food runner even asked us if we had switched places at the bar. It got annoying. The bartender was nice, but it was difficult to flag her down at times for another drink. She seemed to pick favorites and they got the better service. I would’ve given Cabo Flats 2.5 stars, but I had to round down since no half-stars allowed. Maybe a solid 3 stars if the service had their game together.

Decent food, but I’ve had better Mexican and way better margaritas. Needless to say I wouldn’t recommend this place. OAN the décor was beautiful and very elaborate!

The staff was very nice. I received a free margarita thanx to the Unilocal offer, which was very good. The wings, chips & salsa & shrimp tacos as well as the margarita was good. The only thing that needs work is the black beans & rice. no flavor. Would come back w/friends for drinks. Thank you for you the free margarita.

I’ve visited Cabo Flats what feels like a hundred times for Thursday Night ladies night. That’s really the only night worth visiting(sometimes.) I’ve eaten here once. The food is over priced and isn’t very good. I’ve had better quality from Taco Bell. I’d rather go to a Taco Bell. In fact, I’ve partied at Cabo and then went through Taco Bell drive through after. Let’s look at this from a bar standpoint, this place is fun at night time and the drinks are good. They’re not priced outrageously and they’re plentiful. The DJ is okay and the place gets packed around 10pm on a Thursday. There’s a lot of older people who get straight wasted before 10PM and get messy. I’ve seen a lot of cougar /old dudes hitting on young women here. It’s awkward. If never visit this place without a friend with me. The clients can get touchy and when you’re not interested they continue to follow you around. It’s not just me, it’s everyone I know. Always watch your drink and always bring a friend if you go to the bathroom. This is a great place for groups to have a pre party before going to clematis.

I won’t be going back. They offer you chips, then charge you 2.99. At a Mexican joint? We ordered a 21.99 fajita meal that had about 6 servings but came with only 3 tortillas so we had them bring out more. On our bill we were charged 27.99 and the server insisted it was correct until we showed her the menu. Turned out they charge $ 3 extra for extra tortillas and they billed us twice. After waiting for some time to have our bill corrected, the server told us the manager threw away the credit card slip and couldn’t print another. Since I didn’t have cash, I had no way to leave a tip. The server wasn’t very good anyway, but I hope she finds a new place to work. This place is horribly unprofessional and an overall ripoff.

Something’s gone awfully wrong here — Cabo was a good, reliable Tex-Mex place turning out decent food, but it seems that the proprietors have decided to take this place in a different direction, unfortunately one pointing downhill. Food isn’t the priority here anymore, as evidenced by our chicken nachos: a pile of flimsy tortilla chips that couldn’t stand up to the toppings, which included(I kid you not) a liquid cheese product resembling Velveeta, perhaps similar to what’s used at a baseball stadium for their concession-stand nachos; the chicken totally was devoid of any flavor.(Over half of it went uneaten.) The drinks were just okay, and the wait staff was just ridiculously inattentive; we had to ask multiple times for simple stuff like knives and forks(without which you couldn’t eat the soggy nachos). To me, this place reads«pick-up bar» now, right down to the horrible skull mural on the back wall, catering to a younger crowd that’s just there to drink.

Food is okay and the service is awful… they do not know how to run a restaurant correctly. Must be running out of business some time soon

Good menu, a bit overpriced for Mexican. Service was mediocre. We used the free guacamole offer, and the food was good. Had the shrimp tacos and they were full of shrimp. Atmosphere was good, played music in that back ground, patio seating.

We were there for a fundraising event. It was crowded, but not completely packed. We ordered the macho nachos for an appetizer and I was not impressed. There was barely anything on the chips. We decided not to stay for dinner as the nachos weren’t great and service was worse. The drinks were poured strong, but still good.

I’m wavering. Is this a 3 star or a 4 star? Hmm… I’m round up. There are Mexican restaurants that are homey and down to earth and then there are fancy ones. I like them both as long as there is good food! This is one of those that was in the fancy category. The environment is very trendy and hip, and the prices are a little high for Mexican food. However, I do have to say the food and drinks were pretty good especially for the dearth of good Mexican restaurants in South Florida.(I have to add the caveat that I grew up eating TexMex. Other people that grew up with other types of Mexican food might have different preferences). We didn’t like that you had to pay for the salsa and chips, but since we had to pay we went for the set of salsas. The orangish one was my favorite, very spicy and flavorful. They had a ranchy one and a tomatillo and a regular salsa. The regular salsa and ranch didn’t do much for me and the tomatillo was okay. Overall, I did enjoy the salsa set, though. We had the enchiladas for our main meal. We asked them to round up on the prices and asked for one shredded beef, one queso, and one spinach with mole sauce. We were definitely a fan of the mole which was a sweet one and tasty. The spinach was very good and my husband’s favorite. The queso was good too. The shredded beef had a good taste but the meat wasn’t tender at all. I let my husband finish that one. I wish they would work on the tenderness of the meat or add a ground beef option. I liked that they had all sorts of side options, so we were happy with the refried beans and plantains(yum!) The margaritas are ouch something like $ 9. Good thing they have a Unilocal check in offer plus some $ 5 margaritas during happy hour at the bar. I loved that they had a prickly pair margarita though. Mmm, I love prickly pair! I just wish the happy hour extended past the bar area. Overall, I wouldn’t crave the restaurant, but I would go back if we were in the area again.

This restaurant is definitely aimed towards the young and/or energetic crowd. Serving Mexican style/Chili’s food in the daytime and turning into a club scene by nighttime. It is usually loud in here and known for drink specials. Good if you are looking for a few drinks and a bite with friends. Be conscious of what time you are going to eat, it will get loud in here when it gets later. Check out the brunches on Sunday — bottomless mimosas.

The service was great, drinks were super pricey and the food portions were pretty small for the money. Food all tasted great. Mexican food and portions and price are better at nearby La fogata. It does have a great atmosphere. I wouldn’t go again unless someone else was already headed there.

We arrived here to meet some friends or a late lunch during a drove home from Orlando. Cabo Flats is located in the Downtown Outdoor Atrium plaza. The restaurant has a fun mexican flair with lively music, helpful service, a comfortable outdoor seating area and good food. We perused the menus with delight and found several great options that we could not decide between. We planned on ordering a few tacos and some entrees for the table. When the waiter returned, he informed us about the $ 5 Happy Hour Menu of drinks and appetizers that was in effect every day of the week– even on a Sunday! We looked at the Happy Hour menu, expecting to find a dull selection, but were excited to find many of the options we were considering available in appetizer sized portions on the $ 5 menu. Easy decisions from then on as we just ordered a motley of everything! We ordered: — jalapeño rellenos — guacamole — spicy chicken lettuce wraps — two rock stand soft tacos– one with chicken and one with fish — El Cabo margaritas — tropical drink with pineapple — martini The Jalapeño Rellenos were mid-sized Jalapenos, sliced in half, filled with cheese and baked until it melted. Decent taste, not my favorite but my husband and his friend devoured them. Guacamole– fresh and delicious. Just the right amount of cilantro and pepper with lime to taste. Easily finished this. Added bonus: our 20 month old picky eater LOVED it and ate quite a bit! Spicy Chicken Lettuce Wraps: Delicious. Ground Chicken seasoned to perfection and served with crisp lettuce. Rock Stand Tacos: Excellent. Our picky eater ate the chicken one all by himself! El Cabo Margarita: a bit light on the alcohol and sour mix, but refreshing nonetheless. The salt rim was made with the correct large crystal salt(a rarity in South Florida!) Martini was returned. It lacked flavor. We tried to have it corrected but just swapped it out for another Margarita.

They got us in, a party of 8, on a Friday Night, with maybe a 2 minute wait. Very happy about that. Pitcher of margaritas was a little small, but served us well. Good food, not too many expensive items on the menu. Service was a little slow but it was a Friday Night. I would go here again, but would like to try some other places around here too. Giving them an extra star for the overhead stars.
